Cate's Diary

Thanks, Marsia. It is wonderful to be so fortunate & I’m very grateful. Most people keep their distance, which is good. I have an appointment to see the physio next week & will start a program with her. I hope we don’t see any more snakes!

 Don't forget to mention your stationary bike :p

Great!!! Just having watched the physical therapist with my mom work wonders makes me in awe of what they can do. I hope you have fulfilled your snake-spotting quota for the year!

I won't. It hurt last time I tried it though after seeing her for the first time.

My leg feels so much better from not wearing the brace. I'm going to build up my walking gradually. I slept without any pain last night.
G brushcut at my request yesterday so now I can walk around near the house, feeling a lot safer.

We found out yesterday that a friend committed suicide a couple of nights ago. His wife, who used to work for us, found him. It is an absolute tragedy. They have 4 children. He had BP2. G went for drinks last night, but I didn't. Every suicide of someone I know brings back my brother's. Maybe if I had a day to process it first I could have gone but I thought it would be a blokes thing- (destressing in a shed ) but it was huge apparently & G said hundreds asked after me. We're not sure when the funeral will be, but we will go, with R as well & also go to the wake. I wish I had gone along, but it's too late now.

Thanks, LaMa. I really feel for her & her kids. They met through us.
I never dealt with my brother’s suicide at the time, which is a mistake. It bubbles up forever. I’m fine. I did listen to G snoring this morning & felt very grateful.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and the trauma it brings up from the past as well.:grouphug:

Very good news about not having to wear the brace anymore and being able to slowly get back to things. And good to hear that your yard has been made a little less snake-friendly or at least harder for them to hide!

Thanks, Liza & LaMa.
It's time I had a new plan(haha- a plan). I'll get an exercise plan on Wednesday & I need a diet plan. I am eating (& drinking) more than I should with R here as G is cooking more. Starting right now I am having smaller meals, 5 days without any wine at all, 1 or 2 perhaps at the funeral on Thursday & reassess. I think I need some time without any starchy carbs just to get things moving in the right direction.
We had 73mm of rain in the last 24 hours. You should hear the bird noise!

Sitting inside with the rain pouring outside with the birds singing away sounds lovely!
Best of luck with the new food and exercise plan!

So sorry about your friend and his family. I hope you can have some time to just feel sad for him and also for your brother. Lately I have been sitting and feeling feelings from old hurts that come up, and it works - I can release the hurt even though it's from a long time ago. I thought that was sort of amazing.

So glad you are coming up with a plan that works for you. I am still struggling with IF - I need to just get a little more disciplined to not eat in the mornings, and I'll be all set. Good to hear you are getting good amounts of rain to store up for the rest of the year. And nice you can walk around with in the mowed lawn so you can be sure there are no snake surprises!! Happy weekend!

Thanks, Marsia, LaMa & Liza. :grouphug:
I had a lovely day yesterday. G played golf & I took Archie off to the Tamar valley. We walked a lot & chatted a lot & had a lovely time. I tired him out. He is a very popular little dog. I slept like a log last night & so did he.

I can just see you lead Archie past crowds of adoring fans at the park :D No wonder you were both tired!
