Cate's Diary

Not yet, Tru. I have an appointment next Monday. She’s always booked out well in advance. I might call & try to make an appointment with someone else tomorrow.

Awww bless Archie . Our dog doesn’t go either . It stresses her . But it limits us all going away together but the kids sort it . Dogs are great but they are a tie .
Hope the knee is better after some rest Cate .

Thanks, LaMa. I couldn't get in to see anyone else for a couple of days but will ring first thing tomorrow to see if there are any cancellations. I know that I'll need an x-ray but they won't do a referral over the phone.
I have had a good day. I took Arch for a walk after lunch & G drove me back up the hill. It's better than nothing.
Thanks, Petal. I'm hoping my knee will come right & I won't play golf for a couple of weeks at least. Maybe a cortisone shot would help. I'll see what happens. G is going with me into town tomorrow & we'll take Arch for a walk around the river anyway. It's nice & flat. I'll try to make another arrangement for Arch next time we can't take him. He's just lovely & I don't want him stressed.

X-rays often don´t show much, but I´ll leave that to your GP. Cortisone almost always helps, but it´s only really useful if you use the painfree time to rebuild some coordination and/or strength.

Thanks, LaMa. I'll probably have a cortisone shot I think & ask her for some advice and/or a referral to a physio.

My body broke down playing golf yesterday. I ached all over & abandoned after 7 holes
Oh dear Cate, that sounds exhausting both physically and mentally. I sure hope you and the doctor can figure out a good fix.
I know how disappointing and depressing it can be when an injury limits our activities...

Excellent that you can enjoy the flat walks at least--Really glad to hear you had a good day. Hopefully the doctor can get your knee sorted and you'll be back golfing and up and down hills again!

Thanks, Liza. It is disappointing & depressing. I'll ring the medical centre at 8.45 am & hopefully, they'll have a cancellation.
Thanks, Em. I hope so too.

It has absolutely teemed with rain overnight. Arch no longer gets sooky when it does. He has really settled in nicely. I don't think he slept at the kennels because he slept most of yesterday.
I worried yesterday that I was coming down with a chest infection. One of the women at the weekend had one & kept coming up close to me all the time. She is always in your face. She really shouldn't have gone along. Today I feel much better & it was probably a reaction to all the hand sanitiser. Phew! I worried she may have had covid.

Some people have not learned to stay away now when sick . Glad you feel better and hope the gp can refer you for your knees.
Ugh you have reminded me to do paperwork

For a second Inthought you said you and Archie were catching up on paperwork :rotflmao:
Hope the appointment was fruitful.

Thanks, Liza, Petal, Em & LaMa. I have a referral for an MRI & my doc thinks it may be a torn meniscus. After googling it I think she’s right. Hopefully I’ll get in for a scan soon. I’ll ring first thing in the morning.

Thanks, LaMa. Everything I have read about it since I got home rings true. She suggested using a compression bandage or a knee brace during the day, but I think I'll wait until I know for sure what it is & just take it easy. I can't take any anti-inflammatories.

I called in at the library yesterday, Em & picked up half a dozen books. I have one next to me now & will make a pot of herbal tea & get started :)
