I can resist just about anything at McDonalds except the french fries....especially when they are just-cooked hot. I took my daughter yesterday so she could get a happy meal for lunch (a bit of a treat for her). I was good and didn't order anything, but I seriously thought the smell of those fries was going to kill me on the drive home. But like you said, losing weight is way better than giving in to temptations........right? (thinking to myself -- it better damn well be...i miss those fries ) Keep up the good work!! :)

Thanks Fluff :D I am glad I am not the only fry-aholic! LOL And I echo your thought ( it damn well better be worth it!) hehehe:D

I love mexican food - had to reduce it though due to mass amounts of carbs (doc says I can eat carbs but not at night since they are fuel for your body and you don't need them at night). Soooo tonight I recreated a "taco". LOL I can't wait to see how they taste (they are still cooking). They smell heavenly! I seriously think this smell rivals the smell of those much loved fries.... I am drooling so they better hurry and cook! LOL

K. Eats for the day.....

1/2 pkt oatmeal (nope, still makes me gag so couldn't eat the whole thing :( )
cereal bar, high protein variety
skim milk

chicken frank

skim milk
tuna salad made w/ mustard and relish
1 oz (about 10) doritos

chicken frank

3 "taco" wraps
llight sour cream
light cheese
skim milk

total calories for today...... 1209 ( I can't bring myself to eat those other 91 calories....)

Exercise today...
does sanding, crawling around spackling holes, climbing ladders and stairs count???? Probably not, huh?? So, none I guess :(

End of chapter "Saturday" :D

Okay, you can't get through a bowl of oatmeal, but you can eat chicken hot dogs (twice in one day)?!
LOL Everybody has thier "favorites" and " least favorites," eh?
Keep it up!!
Totallyscrappy

LOL Hi Scrappy :D I really don't know why oatmeal bothers me so much. I like the taste but I think it's the consistancy I can't get by. It literally makes me gag and if i keep trying to eat it, it will make me upchuck! LOL My mom says I have always been that way with the stuff, but I really wanted to try something differnt for breakfast. It can't be that bad I keep trying to tell myself. I was wrong.LOL

As for the chicken hot dogs - I love them!! I would eat hotdogs all day every day if I were able but they have so much fat that I thought I would have to give them up. Then I found these little buggers!! LOL They don't taste any diffferent than regular hot dogs and I use them to make "bologna" sandwiches - hey, bolgna is just a squished hot dog!! LOL I am so pitiful, ain't I?? :D :D

My new "tacos" were great! I absolutely love them. I even added light sour cream and light cheese.... OMG thank goodness I only made enough for tonights dinner!! Hubby would have had to pluck my face out of the casserole dish!!!!!

Hi, my name is Cassie and I am a foodaholic... LOL  :D Okay, now you know I am certifiably insane and need the little men in white coats! If you promise not to call them I will do my very best not to pig out LOL

Okay, leaving now .... LOL

Wow, I see you like tuna and mustard too! I hate mayonaisse, and miracle whip and used to ask my mama to fix my sandwiches with mustard only on that tuna. mmmmm
I also hate milk. Guess Im weird.

I'm not picky about too many foods, but I cannot, cannot, cannot eat my eggs if there is any runny whites. They just seem so... slimy.

Hey Girl! Sorry it has been so long since I checked in on you. Been kind of out of it lately, you know. I cannot believe your kids' doctor actually told you to take them to McD's or BK! Boy, that is a really healthy way for them to gain weight! My son is going to be 13 next month and he likes about 1/2 inch before he is as tall as I am! He is 5'4" and probably weighs about 110. So he is doing really good now. I agree with you on the oatmeal. It is something that I really want to eat, but just can't for some reason. It always makes me want to gag too. I'm also right there with you with the smells of fast food. There is a BK in the wal-mart here, and sometimes when we are grocery shopping we will let the kids get fries or if we just have the little one, we will get him a happy meal for lunch or something. Sometimes it is so hard to resist getting something myself. When I would give in, I would usually just get a small regular hamburger. Of course, now it is just too much trouble, so I just stay home while hubby does the shopping. :)

Keep up the good work! Hopefully you will have a pleasant surprise on weigh in day.

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by :) I like seeing the visits in the morning :)

Kate, I really like mayo, miracle whip, and milk but i like them so much its easy for my to go overboard with them. I grew up on a farm drinkin' milk fresh from the cow - cream and all. Now I have been drinking skim milk so long that I can't even stand the "low fat" milk.It just tastes like cream and makes me feel nauseaus (sp?). I love tuna w/ mustard, though! Its sweet and spicy with the relish I put in and tons of yellow mustard. MMMMMMMMM

Beagle, I hear ya w/ the runny whites - yuck! The only part of my egg I like runny is the yolk and I rarely eat that. I usually stick with just the whites. One way to make me gag real fast it to give me a cooked yolk - I think they taste like dog poo smells! LOL  Can't get by 'em.....

HH, nice to see you back :D I'm glad your son doesn't have the problems mine do right now. I think their doc is cracked as far as her BK suggestion goes. They get rid of one "problem" only to be given 3 more that BK everyday would cause. Duh! I am glad I am not the only oatmeal gagger!! I thought I would try it since it had been so long - yeah, well, it didn't matter. I still couldn't do it! Oh, well, I tried. :) I hope I do get that surprise come weigh day - I will have serious problems if I don't. I just need to see that what I am doing is helping since last week I gained weight. It really drove me nuts! ;)

Well, must run. Working w/ hubby again today. Don't know how long - probably as long as my muscles will let me ( I didn't know I had that many muscles in my arms!! LOL). Will be back later to post eats and exercise, etc. :D

UGH! I feel every muscle in my body - who knew I had so many buried under all this extra weight?! LOL It was a good day - we got a lot accomplished, but boy am I wiped! Got home around 4:30 pm after STARTING at the site at 7am. Sanded a lot ( my knees are sooooo sore and red from kneeling while sanding baseboards) and relocated 30 pound boxes of tile for about 45 minutes (along w/ lumber). I am so proud of me :) There wasn't one minute that I was idle. Even when I had to use the potty I had to walk a quarter mile. Literally. There isn't a bathroom at the job site, and I can't just whip it out behind the barn  , so I had to walk to my friends house to use his potty every time I needed to go! ( about once every 2 hours LOL). Was so glad to get home and use ours! LOL :D

Okay, t'days eats....

high protein cereal bar
turkey bacon
skim milk

chicken frank

tuna w/ yellow mustard and relish
skim milk
1 oz dorito chips

chicken frank
4 oz diet dr. pepper

2 oz turkey meatloaf w/ peppers and celery
topped w/ non-fat cheese alternative (not too bad)
green beans
skim milk
chicken frank
4 oz diet dr pepper

total calories today.... 1245

exercise today.... just physical work :D (its all my muscles could manage today  )

Think my household menagerie has gone crazy! our 16 year old cat bounced off the bathroom door until I came out because I didn't wait for him to go in too. Our 11 year old dog decided the couch was his (not his usual behavior), one parrot screams while I sit here because I won't talk to HER, and the other parrot decided that her screams were fun and is trying them out too. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY ANIMALS?!!!!

be back tomorrow ( or later tonight, which ever happens first :D )

wow your animals sound like our animals. Chasing each other around, making noise, food everywhere, making messes, going half nuts....I swear our 2 dogs and bird just shake their heads when the kids are all home on the weekends.

Hey Miss Jelly, Thanks! I needed that chuckle!! :D
Believe it or not, I nuke my turkey bacon. I put my slices on a microwave safe rack, put a paper towel under it and another over it (protects microwave from nasty splatters), and nuke for 1min 30 sec ( a 1000 watt micro). It still takes some chewin' LOL but I can atleast tolerate it! :)

OH! Forgot! I was so proud of me today! I switched to my tae-bo advanced tape - it's a 57 min. tape. Yeah, well, I made a deal with myself that I could stop after 20 minutes IF i needed to. I made it 25! Well, I looked like an elephant trying to tap dance and I thought I was gonna die, but at least I did it. It is super fast and v. high impact ( you don't march between sets - you run!) but it is a blast! I absolutely love it!

Hi Bize! You had me laughing. I too love the microwave, I would not have any hot meals without it. lol I only have one small frying pan and a small pot for boiling water. I cook most everything in the microwave. The time I cooked the bacon was on the stove though and perhaps it would have been better nuked.

Way to go with the taebo tape! I love it when you feel stronger and have to work harder to get to that same point. I have never tried taebo. Always been curious. I have some pilate tapes I need to start using. An elephant trying to tap dance is funny shiz girl! You had me laughing with that one.

Hi Miss Jelly :) I tried to cook the turkey bacon on the stove the first time and discovered that wasn't so good. I tried oven baking it the next - blah. Then I resorted to the microwave and (much to my surprise) it was the best of all the methods. I did discover this morning that this "bacon" isn't so good in a breakfast sandwich - you take a bite and get a wad of bacon and chew until your jaw breaks! LOL Guess its an "on the side" item only

Ya know that tap dancing elephant? Well, its true!! LOL I saw a reflection of myself in the computer screen and almost screamed!!!! I took up the whole screen and the house was shaking!!!! (we live in a mobile home) It takes a lot to make a mobile home shake!!!!! LOL :D :D

Today is weigh day.......... I LOST 4.2 POUNDS!! :D Finally!! It seems like forever since I've been below 200!! I also lost and inch from my waist - now my size 16's don't scream quite as loudly  :D Now I know what i am doing is actually making a difference - I was doubting it for quite a while. Putting up with fake cheese and bacon IS worth this!! So is skipping the cookies I make for hubby. I actually don't get the sugar cravings anymore that I've had for my whole life - thank goodness! Things are looking up.....

Will be back later to post eats and exercise.....

WOW!!! 4 pounds! Thats awesome!!

I wish there was one of those rolling smilies that raises the roof! I need about a gazillion of em! So many weigh ins, so much weight lost!

Hooray!

Congratulations on the 4 pound loss! Thats awesome. What a great way to start the week. :) Keep up the great work. Btw, what kind of 'fake cheese' do you use? I cant seem to find one I like.

Thanks, ladies :D It sure did bolster my spirits after the "pitfall" last weigh in.

Just a quick "stop in"....

BTW, Kate, our cat isn't aware he's a cat and ignores the birds, though he does "box" the dog ( Weedie is "clawless"). Our dog isn't aware he's a dog - he's afraid of the cat AND the birds! LOL Our quaker parrot is a jealous screamer who, if he isn't careful, will end up "accidentally" squashed! Our Amazon is a spoiled rotten sack of feathers who had taken it upon herself to sass back and take attitude when she thinks you aren't paying her any attention! LOL I am surrounded by screwed up, insane animals ( and that's without including my husband and kids!!LOL).

Fluff, the fake cheese i just discovered is great - I can't figure out why I never tried it before! LOL It is a Smart Balance product. It IS a little pricey ($3.99 or so for 12 slices), but I figure, since I am the only one to eat it and then not very often I can "treat" myself to it. It melts like regular cheese and is creamy when it melts - it doesn't get that funny skin or look like plastic. So far I like it.... I haven't tried it cold on sandwiches or plain yet (I am afraid to like it too much!). It only has 25 calories 0fat and only 3 carbs or so. A happy thing....:D

Did I say this was a "quick" stop.... Oh, well:rolleyes: I WILL be back later, though LOL

4 pounds is awesome! Good job!

Haha! Is the cat declawed, too? 4 of our 6 cats are declawed...very worthwhile. Saves the furnature. They still find a way to use those danged back claws though...clever critters.

Hi CMS, thanks for the visit :) It is my cat that is completely declawed - much to his dismay! LOL He makes up for it though with his teeth if you make him mad enough - just ask my hubby! :D He was originally declawed because I lived at home (I was only 14) and mama babysat 3 - 4 little tykes who he liked to use as claw posts  Now he's 16 and crochety - unless its me who bugs him! LOL He lets me drag him around the floor by his tail - coming back for more when i stop! LOL :p :D

I'm soooo happy I lost that 4 pounds, but my cold kind of put a damper on my "party" :( When I talk I sound like my father - or a female who has smoked waaayyyy too many cigs!! (I don't smoke any!)LOL I think its due to the drastic weather changes here lately (52 deg. F two days ago, 20 yesterday and around that again today- ugh). Anyway, now that I've whined I feel a little better

Okay, eats for the day.....

breakfast sandwich w/ fake cheese, turkey bacon, and egg whites
skim milk

chicken frank

seafood pasta salad
decaf tea (by the gallon it seems)

chicken frank
cookie - don't know why I ate that  I didn't even really want it - think I was bored

turkey kielbasa
sauerkraut

exercise... none  only inspection of my eyelids and cleaning house

tomorrow has to be a better day..... PLEASE!!!

Hey Cassie! Congratulations on the weight loss! That is great!

I haven't weighed myself since I broke my leg. I really am wanting to get on a scale! By the way, the dancing elephant thing was very funny! That is how I used to feel when I would do tae bo. We lived in an upstairs apartment! So, I wonder what the downstairs neighbor thought?!

Exercise: inspection of my eyelids! LOL! How funny!

Ahhhh HH, I needed that chuckle! Thanks :D Tae Bo is great but not easy on mobile homes - or apartments it seems! LOL Your downstairs neighbors probably thought better thoughts than my nextdoor neighbors ( there is only about 1/4 acre between us). I got asked what furniture I was moving that was so heavy and next time give them a shout if I needed help!!!! What was I supposed to say?? "Gee, I was exercising, sorry I shook your house too"? Or "Well, triple A was out on a call so my uhaul truck had to be cancelled"? I just said, "thanks, I'll remember that for next time" tried not to die of embarrassment as I walked away! Man...... can't even do tae bo in this town! LOL:eek:

You're too funny! I love it that you shook things up, literally! hehe Thanks for the tip on nooking the bacon. You're so right, it was horrible fried. It seemed to turn into jerky almost. No crunchy goodness like the real thing, only this chewy imposter. haha

Congrats on losing 4.2 pounds. That is great! Whoo hoo! Keep it going!
