bluehats diary

Blue- I'm on 3 BP meds & while I hate being on 3 & I think they are responsible for my recent weight gain, I would much rather be on them than have a heart attack. It sounds like you need to find a doctor who can treat you on a regular basis. High BP is very dangerous.

im beginning to feel hopeless
something goes wrong
wherever i turn
Hey Blue, you are not hopeless.

I am just catching up, but from what I see you have improved your diet and stopped bingeing. That is real progress.

And you are doing what you can about your medical issues, again progress.

So you should be happy about that, or I think you should anyway.

Try to control what you can, and accept what you can't, and it seems to me that is what you are doing. Far from hopeless.

yesterdays food--
1 store pizza slice--?
2 fried round breakfast sausages--380

todays food--
2 pieces of store cooked chicken breast pieces--?
2 hot chocolates--280

so im happy to be staying at 1200 or less

im trying to get the eating times later in the day( closer to bedtime)
but i bought food that takes so long to cook
that by the time i have to go out with others
im way too hungry when i get back to wait
for my food to cook
and i hate it reheated
not sure how to solve that

yesterday i did go to er cause the day before my bp got very high
and the dr there ended up referring me to an internist
and i got an appt very fast
it usually takes a few months
but i got in for monday morning
so we will see what happens
hopefully that dr will take over the bp care
ive been on a waiting list for a regular dr for near 6 years

thanks
its hard for me to see my progresses sometimes

Best wishes for things to go well with the doctor today. And what Rob said about your progress is right - in several different ways, you're well ahead in the overall goal of looking after your health and life. :hug2:

yesterdays food--
4 oven baked sausages
200 grams cashews

didnt make the 1200 calories
just hoping i have some days
less so it balances out

havent been able to have energy
to exercise
i need to do it before my day starts
but not enough time yet with all
the appts and helping others
hoping tomorrow i get to stay home
then i can exercise when i get up
and maybe even cook something
at home again
like last night with the sausages

todays food is planned as
4 fried sausages(that im cooking)
luckily i got home early enough to wait for my food to cook
and not have to eat out
not sure what else yet
maybe a can of beans in tomato sauce

Fingers crossed for the new doctor.

she was nice
it was told to me id see an internist
but i had to see the nurse practitioner
i guess she sees ppl first then decides if
u need the internist?
idk but i liked her
so what she did was mainly get a medical
history measure my bp and add a new med
im scared to take it tho
i will but i am worried about weight gain
i just lost 14 pounds again
every pound lost is a horrible struggle
i guess we see though

the sausages didnt look good
so not sure what todays food will be
i have 3 cans of the beans until friday
(each can size is 1.5 cups)
and some chocolate soymilk left
(about 8 cups left)
i'll just spread it out

I'm glad you like the nurse practitioner. That's a good start. Was your BP down a little bit from the last reading? It took 3 meds to get my BP down to a reading that everyone's happy with. I accept it now. Maybe next time you buy sausages cook them all up & they're after they're cooked.

I'm glad you didn't eat the dodgy sausages - though I don't like the sound of how low your food intake will be this week as a result. Is there anyone you can ask to drop you off a few carrots and a head of broccoli?

Hey Blue, I see no binges and signs of progress, that is great! I agree with Amy a few more vegetables would be a good addition.

Keep at it you are moving in the right direction!

im hoping to find out shortly if the new bp med causes any weight gain
i totally hope not

i think it was down a little bit but i can guess why
it was the highest at my diabetes care
appt
and i absolutely hate them alot
but it wasnt down enough to
not get help for it

nope no one
i just dont know how to get veggies in
there are only a few i like
and they have to be soft and cut tiny
by the time i do all that i dont want them
i hate cooking
i dont mind veggie soups
but they are rather salty

yesterdays food--
yay no canned beans yet
had the chance to share a medium pizza with someone
so i likely went over 1200 again
im not sure how many calories are in half a pepperoni pizza

still havnt been motivated to exercise yet
wow that leg swelling sure wrecked things this time
i was getting into an exercise habit finally maybe
not sure how im going to get back into it again

i may do a week of 1200 calories
check my weight
then try 1400 for a week and keep going (up 200 a week)
until a gain starts then go back a hundred?
then at least i know the highest i can eat
without gaining

all this is so complicated
why cant i just eat
and eat when im hungry
and exercise every day
and screw the constant
decisions and limitations
sometimes its so overwhelming
and annoying

why cant i just get up in the morning
decide if im hungry
then eat something i like
and carry on my day
with some exercise in there
somewhere too

but its get up measure sugar
decide if its so high i need correction insulin
then drink then do insulin
then check sugar
then do whatever
then still hungry as always
fight off the hunger so i dont need
another needle
but have to do sugar in case its
dropped sugar hunger
omg it just goes on all day
the diabetes added to my food obessions
and planning and always thinking about
food
and fighting off eating because insulin causes weight gain
so then end up binging from maybe being so hungry?
and then theres the appts with the questions
about what when did i eat
and why not this food or that food
thats not just at the diabetes care appts either
some of the other appts ask food questions too
how the hell do i stop obessing about it?
heres ok in my diary and with people here
because i choose to

sorry just venting

Hi, Blue. Life is hard for you I know. It's good that you can vent here & feel comfortable & safe. Hopefully, the new meds will help with your BP. I just don't know enough about diabetes to offer much help re diet. I know that I need to eat protein at each meal to curb my hunger & although I am not diabetic I always have some protein before consuming anything sweet, even fruit.
It is almost impossible not to think about food, but especially being diabetic. I assume the diabetes clinic has given you dietary guidelines. Low GI etc?

sorry just venting
Don't be sorry, that's what your diary is for.

I think I can see progress, good for you! I'd think you could still lose weight at 1,400 calories a day, just not quite as fast.
