yesterdays exercise--
10 minutes stepping

still trying to decide on the food
i think calorie counting is the most versatile
but i really like the cup plan
im still undecided

but good news finally
the scale has moved in a positive direction
by 6 pounds down
so leaving me to wonder if
not focusing on the food so much did something?
even if it did
its too scary not tracking in some way
and not having some sort of plan

Excellent. When you started here you weren't able to do those things without bad leg pain, right? Now could you maybe add 5 minutes of chair gymnastics for your upper body?

is it a video?
like on utube?

There are many different version of chair gymnastics. Just any exercises you can do while sitting down. Not as strenuous as many other kinds of exercise but a nice way to add a little more when your legs are already pretty tired. Or for people who have trouble standing up for longer periods of time. I think I shared examples on page 4 of your diary but of course you can just go and find some that appeal to you more!

Well done on losing 6 lbs, Blue. If you google chair exercises there are so many to choose from. I googled chair exercises & then went to the "for diabetics" ones & there are some very good ones from reputable sites.
Here is the post from LaMa from Page 4 of your diary-
This one´s pretty specific:
Here´s one I kind of like simply for the abundance of different exercises (apart from the stretches at the end, but then again if you´re starting any kind of workout routine after having been inactive for a while you always have to listen to your body and use your own best judgment):
Or, if you want something with a bit more pep this might be a starting point for you:
They´re all pretty long and I skipped through bits here and there but you can always start by just doing the first five minutes, then mark where you´d got to and do the next 5 minutes tomorrow. I think starting out with less intensity, doing things that don´t hurt you, has a much better chance of long-term success than blasting off with all you´ve got just to get demotivated.

exercise today--
10 minutes bike

food--
5 timbits
1.5 cups chili
1 cup blueberries
4 cups salad
2 cups diet mint hot chocolate
1/8 of a strudel

feeling like i lost control
of the food
like i cant stop eating
and i have so much food here
i have no where to take it
but i cant afford to throw it out
like i used to when i got feeling a binge coming
been fighting all day to spread my calories out
but i feel as tho i will be binging tonight

If you can't afford to throw it away you can't afford to binge on it. Remember: binging is like throwing food in the trash, except it makes you need insulin as well.

bluehat, you didn't say what the food is -
If it is fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish or dairy, can you cook it up and maybe freeze it?
If it is not any of those things, like maybe bread or crackers, can you just put it in a cupboard and get it out later?
If it is food that is not healthy for you, then I agree with LaMaria,
If you can't afford to throw it away you can't afford to binge on it.

If you can't afford to throw it away you can't afford to binge on it
I agree, no matter what you paid for it better to throw it away. You will be healthier and no poorer.

I hate to think about how much I have invested in my belly over the years. However, it it ain't retirement savings, better to take the loss.

first
i managed to not binge whew

ive been doing the 10 minutes bike 1 day
then the stepping video the other day still
so at least thats good

that food that i got so much of was
cans of soup
cans of pasta like zoodles and beefaroni
on sale for 50 cents and 1 dollar and 2 dollars
luckily i found someone who will let
me come and get it from their place as i need it
so that worked out well

i decided that calories will be what i go with
for a food plan
im hoping i can stay with 1600

Nothing weird about that, its what happens when you exercise and eat well. Good for you, keep it up and you'll keep losing and feeling better!
