bluehats diary

todays food--

4 slices pizza
6 cups popcorn
2 beef patties

no bike or walk

i only go for walks with the other person
and when she doesnt go i dont go
for safety reasons

todays food--
4 slices pizza (with family)
4 cups salad
unmeasured low sugar dressing
2 --4 oz fried pork chops
4 cups canned mixed fruit

no exercise

Cheering you on, bluehat! It's a long slog, but you can get there, bit by bit. :)
That was a bit of a mixed day, it seems - lots of salad :hurray: but keep an eye on the canned fruit, in case it has sugar in it. Even if it doesn't, it's probably packing in more calories than the equivalent volume of fresh fruit - so your four cups might be equating to twice that of fresh fruit.

yesterdays food--
4 cups salad
unmeasured low sugar dressing
2 stuffed peppers family made(rice and ground beef inside)
8 oz ground beef
1 onion

no walk or bike
the conditions outside are very icy

i may have to start doing the
15 minute walk again -the leslie videos
on utube
because with no walk or bike
im getting no exercise

i dont like being so heavy on the meat
but most other foods i eat require insulin
and i try to minimize using it
unless im binging

Your food looks good, and 8 oz of beef isn't terrible. I don't know much about insulin, but I assume you have some kind of diabetes. Can you eat veggies like broccoli or carrots? They can be filling and have less sugar.

Sounds like a really good reason not to binge!

Keep up the good work, you are making progress.

I've just finished writing a rave review of carrots on Megadeuce's diary, as being practically a dieter's secret weapon. I like having a kilo or so handy in the fridge and just quickly washing them and chomping on them, raw, if I'm feeling like a between-meal snack.

Hi, Blue. How are you going?
I love carrots too. I must grate some as they are good in lots of things-omelettes, salads....

exercise since i last posted--
the 15 minute 1 mile happy walk== once daily

foods--
ok i guess
not really happy with it
bought some bad meat a few times

going to go with the cup diet i mentioned earlier
somewhere in my diary
for my calories it shud be
4 to 6 cups a day (6 cups being a bit more than 1600)
and the plan has averaged out the cups of foods
on their lists to be 270 calories
the lists are everyday foods plus a beverage list
and dessert and snacks list
i have some foods i eat that are higher and
some lower than 270 calories
so hopefully it averages out
and since im not very good at guessing
i will be measuring the cups of food
and
trying to do the happy walk daily or
the outdoor walk

i have to be careful what raw veggies i choose
for teeth issues too ( as well as the insulin needed)
so carrots are pretty hard raw
but maybe raw tomatoes

idk whats better
in terms of pain from exercising (they all end up hurting somewhere)
a 30 minute walking video
or
doing the 15 minute one twice back to back
or
the 20 minute video i found
all being leslies videos
im not likely going to be able to split it up twice a day
because once i shop or help my friend
thats it my energies gone
so it has to be in one session for awhile

i just feel that the 15 minute one isnt hard enuf anymore

it looks as tho the outdoor walk is finished
weather wise anyway

I think it's great that 15 minutes no longer feels like it's enough! Doubling the amount sounds a bit drastic though; maybe do the 15 minute video once a day as your basic exercise, then tack on 5 minutes of whatever else you feel you can do. Doesn't matter if it's the bike or just a small part of another video. Or just dancing around to your favorite song!

Mmmm... point taken, about carrots and teeth! I do have tomatoes as a snack sometimes, those egg-shaped ones cut in half and sprinkled with salt, or else the little cherry tomatoes, just eaten whole. :)

yesterdays food--
3 cups shredded cheese
3 cups bits and bites
1 3/4 cup canned pasta

exercise--
15 minute walking video

ive done that before-
the dancing around to a favorite song
its fun

yes then i dont have to cut them
they are already small enough to chew

yesterdays food--
2 cups family made meat veggie rice mix
2 cups cottage cheese
1 cup grated cheese
1.5 cup canned pasta

15 minute walk video

just need to figure out at least 1 cup of veggies
maybe next time i shop get some of those canned
seasoned french green beans
they at least have some flavor
as opposed to just boiling some green beans
from frozen

Seasoned green beans can be great but be sure to check the label for added oil and all that if the reason you want to eat a cup of veg is to bring your average calories per cup down a bit. Otherwise boiling some green beans, then sprinkling on a nice spice mix might work just as well for fewer calories. I like simple garlic powder and chili flakes, or even just a drizzle of mustard or sriracha, but be creative! Mmm, mustard with added garlic powder and chili flakes though...
