bluehats diary

i think for todays goal--

i will eat only 1 processed type of food
the rest will be non processed

its too early to post my results yet
for todays goal of one processed food

i have to come up with a different exercise
my legs just hurt too much always now
im blaming the bike because its all i do
for exercise even if its so little a day

so outdoor walking during anytime poses safety risks
and falling on ice risks
and not being able to wear proper
footwear anytime of the year
due to feet swelling
so that leaves out walking

swimming is out because in my area very few
people swim in the bodies of water due to
the coldness of the lake here
and i cant afford even the subsidised indoor
pool memberships

outdoor biking is out due to my easy disorientation and falling
off the darn thing

biking is my favorite which is why i have an indoor one
but my legs just wont allow it

so all i can come up with is the walking on the spot videos
and maybe an easy stepping one
and maybe up the stairs in my building?
i seem to be way more tired since ive cut back
for leg pain
i guess i need to decide on new exercise goals?

Why do you think your legs hurt? Did you over do the bike or something else?

I do admire your efforts to find an exercise that will work for you, I know from personal experience it can be hard.

im not really sure why my legs hurt
with just 10 minutes on the bike
one of my knees has arthritis
but thats not where it hurts
although they got worse after i
tried to go faster and harder
after someone told me that i have
to get my heart rate up for it to help
i was only getting it to 75
and when i worked harder to
get it up to 115 then wham
my legs always hurt now
as opposed to just a longer time hurting

well im not sure if i met my goals today
i had mcds breakfast sandwiches
so thats a processed food
but
i had some soy milk too
because sometimes so much
water makes me nauseous
i will let others decide

so tomorrow i have a birthday party to go to
for a person ive known for 35 years
so my goals cant be too hard
with cake
so i decided to have 1 piece of cake
as a goal rather than 2 or 3
i hope i can say i met my goal!
or do i?
cause cakes so good

I am no expert, but I do know from my own experience that trying to start exercising can be hard. I am 67 and about 100 lbs overweight. I started exercising by riding a bike outside. My first day I only rode for a few minutes and have built up very slowly. At my age I know you have to start slowly, but it does seem to be working.

You can resist the second piece of cake, I know you can!

Maybe alternating between bike days and walking video days would help your legs recover?

i made my goal with the cake

i havent made a goal for today yet
but i havent ate yet
thats where it sometimes fall apart
i start and cant stop eating
so i delay eating as long as possible

since i was up late and have loads
to do maybe 10 minutes on the bike
would be nice

thats really good

did not make the bike goal yesterday

and got on the scale
bad bad thing to do that
up another 6lbs
very sad now
my bike only supports 250
i hope 266 doesnt wreck it

goal today-
not to binge

Oh, that's a pity - sorry you had that downer. Still, as LaMa says, today is a new day. I really wish you well today, with good healthy eating, and a little bit of exercise.
(I wouldn't try the bike beyond its stated limits, by the way, on safety grounds. Maybe walking, for the exercise?)

Good for you on the cake!

Just forget the 6 lbs, we all have our ups and downs, if you can stick to this it will be gone soon enough.

Amy's walking suggestion is a good one. I am happy to see you trying! You can do this!

i made the no binging goal yesterday

today my goal is no processed foods
beyond whatever a cream and 1 sweetener and a coffee might be

Well done not binging!
