somehow i have to change
this

Because you´ll gain a LOT more if you overeat as well?

This and more importantly, when you are Type 2 diabetic, you really want to keep your blood sugars from being all over the place to avoid diabetic complications. They will not always be exactly the same, but your doctor has probably given you a range that your blood sugars to be in pre/post meals, in the mornings, etc. So many things in your body can be negatively affected by constantly high blood sugars, so eating low glycemic index/load foods and spreading your food throughout the day is actually very important.

If you shred the brussels´ sprouts they´re good in an omelette. Same goes for thinly sliced asparagus. Sprinkle over just a little cottage cheese right before it´s done and top with some salad, salt, and pepper and you´ll have a nice meal.

i have 1 bag of broccoli and 1 bag of brussel sprouts
and 1 bunch of asparagus left now
the 2 x a week shopping is already not working
and ive only been once
we dont go until tues
this is sat.

i may have an idea
i could buy a transportation pass
that way i can go daily and never have
too much food here
downside--
what 12 meals do i miss to buy it?

feeling hopeless

Can you describe what keeps you from eating the veggies and compels you to eat the other things? How do you feel in that moment?

dear diary
i have had an offer
for a long time
to get daily rides
for food but
i will not subject myself
to the encounters with
the mean person
i will go hungry first

very sad crying today
the nice person was the
one who offered the
2x a week shopping
but since her and the
mean person began
attending a worship
service and the things
that happen from that
ive been being treated/judged
like im this horrible
person for not going too
its very hurtful

so anyway today
i have a bag of broccoli
to eat
i think we are going
shopping tomorrow

maybe i will just get that
transportation pass
i can take a bus
i avoided it due to
very scary things the
mean person said
about safety shopping
alone
but sometimes there
is no other choice

i dont know
except that they taste awful
maybe i just need
better ways
to prepare them

Better ways to prepare them would be great (Youtube has millions of recipe videos, even for veggies), but also if you could make a habit of eating one small portion of veg with or before every meal it may not be such a high hurdle to jump. Habit improves cooking skills, can reduce anxiety, and sometimes even makes things taste better.

dear diary
nothing to post today
food wise anyway

tomorrows shopping
thought id try
omad combined with
eat meat drink water
its so simple
nothing to plan or meal
planning
one thing to buy
bye for now

Hey I think you were doing well with your last shop! I know you don't like some of the things that you purchased, but if you could find even a couple of recipes, I think you would be able to add in some nutritious food. I can't remember if you answered my question about whether or not you are able to cook large portions all at once or if you have to cook at each meal? With casseroles, soups, etc., you could potentially not have to cook often and you could included a variety of ingredients, including frozen veggies (which are sometimes more nutritious than fresh, by the way!). If you find a recipe that calls for fresh veggies, but you are using frozen, then you can probably cut the cooking time down so that they don't get mushy.

Fair enough. So it seems like ideally you'd have some ingredients on hand that require some cooking, but just nothing super time consuming or complicated?

Did you end up going shopping yesterday?
