Big T & MMW: To Keep Lean & Stay Mean ;)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I'm going to Florida for 9 days bitches. See ya'll mofos on the other side! I promise to get back in gear right when I return. :D

Have a good one mate! Cheat on your gf with a fine sexy bitch just for me! ;)

Ran almost 5 miles last night, LOTS of uphill, was f**ked!

Saturday, i lifted:

Pullups
2x6 (wide)
2x6 (close)

Deadlifts
1x8 (220lbs)
1x5 (308lbs)

Rack Pulls
1x5 (308lbs)
1x0 (396lbs)

Was pissed off here, just didn't have the grip strength. My back/legs are easily strong enough, its just my f**king grip. I did a full deadlift with 396 a while back but i used sponges to lift it, they helped a lot. I might get myself some straps for the bigger lifts.
I almost got this, but just before locking out my grip went so i had to quickely lower it down otherwise id of dropped it!

Pulldowns
1x12
1x10
1x6

Seated Rows
1x12 (154lbs)
1x10 (176lbs)
1x4 (198lbs) DS 1x8 (110lbs)

Whatup dude! Florida was awesome! Surburning in February works for me, oh yeah. So I got back last Sunday, then left to Dallas, Texas for work on Tuesday and just got back from that last night. It's definitely good to be home, I know that much. Got in a few workouts here and there, but I do believe it will be a shocker to get back into my routine.

Glad you had a good time mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who did you go with..

Well MMW, since your back, i suppose ill update of where my trainings at.

This week i've started a totally different routine, its REALLY simple and is based on the strongman 5x5 routine.

Me and one of my training partners are wanting purely strength, so were basically taking 1 step back to take 2 steps forward (as they say) :D

Im going to do this simple routine for 9 weeks, and then start making a more complicated, advanced routine.

Workout A
Squats 5x5
Flat BB Press 5x5
Inverted Rows 3xF
Pushups 3xF
Reverse Crunches

Workout B
Squats 5x5
BB OH Press 5x5
Deadlift 1x5
Pullups/Chinups 3xF
Prone Bridges 3x30 seconds

Very simple, its a routine from stronglifts.com. This is all 3x weekly.

I went with my older brother, we had a great time...85, sunny, 15th beer, beach...good stuff!

That looks like a good routine, I hope it works out for you!!!! Kick ass with it man. You are a good squatter, that should get you even more in gear.

Believe it or not, I actually managed to lose weight on my trip...I think I'm down near 205 or so. I bet I will be a little weaker on some lifts, especially at first, but I bet I will keep most of my strength.

Well im enjoying the new routine, it recommends starting with roughly 30% less weight of your 5x5 max. Weve roughly done that on most lifts apart from bench press really lol. It will be ok!

Were focusing on form mainly ATM.

Saturdays workout included:

Squats
5x5 (154lbs)

Flat BB Press
5x5 (181.5lbs)

Inverted Rows
3xF

Pushups
3xF

Reverse Crunches
1x12
1x10
1x8

It looks funny that im using more weight for my benching than squatting, but every workout im going to increase the squat by larger increments.

Its not actually that uncommon that you bench more than you squat. Did you spend more time/effort benching in the past???

Good work BTW guys. Keep it up. :)

Well the fact is....i can't bench more than i squat LOL.

I can squat over 300lbs, but the reason for starting low is i want to perfect form and go up in steady increments. I could do my 5x5 with over 220lbs, but for the reason i've stated, im starting light :)

I'm also doing the same for deadlifts.

Cheers for popping in wes!

Thanks for stoppin by, we need more special guest appearances, haha.

Sounds like a good approach, BigT. No reason to get nuts before easing into the routine, you will get your numbers where they need to be. I know how you roll.

I lifted Saturday, went okay, but it's my first heavy lifting day in like 2 weeks. So I was weak, and was sore as shlt yesterday and still today. Won't stop me from more liftin today though...

Deadlifts
1 x 5 @ 135
1 x 5 @ 185
1 x 5 @ 225
3 x 5 @ 235

Flat DB Press
1 x 5 @ 110
1 x 5 @ 130
1 x 5 @ 140
2 x 5 @ 150
1 x 5 @ 140

Seated Row
1 x 5 @ 100
1 x 5 @ 120
1 x 5 @ 140
2 x 5 @ 150
1 x 5 @ 140

It's okay, we're all special in here.

Yesterday lifted again, went well on dips, sucky on pullups, good on lunges.

Dips
1 x 5 @ BW
1 x 5 @ 10
1 x 5 @ 25
1 x 5 @ 35
1 x 4 @ 35
1 x 5 @ 25

Chinups
1 x 6 @ BW
2 x 3 @ BW

Walking Lunges
1 x 6 @ 90
2 x 6 @ 100
1 x 5 @ 110

Then ran for 20 minutes, went well. Weight is right at 208-ish.

Nice work MMW! Good to get back into it eh?

Yesterday i trained:

Squats
5x5 (176lbs)

BB OH Press
5x5 (126.5lbs)

Deadlifts
1x5 (231lbs)

Pullups
1x5
1x4
1x3

Then finished with the prone bridges.

Haven't got 5 reps with pullups before so a new PR. Deadlifts & squats will go up rapidly, i've just started light on them. OH pressing was fairly easy as well.

Yeah man it is GREAT to be back into it. Way to go on the pullups...I have sunken since my high of 8...I can usually get about 6 on my first set. It's amazing how quickly I fall off...only can do 4 on next set, 3-4 on third, etc...

Lifted yesterday.

DB OH Press
1 x 5 @ 100
1 x 5 @ 110
1 x 4 @ 120
2 x 4 @ 110

Squats
1 x 5 @ 135
1 x 5 @ 155
1 x 5 @ 175
1 x 5 @ 185
1 x 4 @ 195
1 x 8 @ 135 (ATG)

BB BORs
1 x 5 @ 115
4 x 5 @ 135

Then ran 2.25 miles...20 minutes...good times.

Last weeks Workouts Included:

Thursday:

Squats
5x5 (176lbs)

BB Flat Press
5x5 (187lbs)

Inverted Rows
3xF

Pushups
3xF

Reverse Crunches
3x12

Programme is working VERY well, always getting PR's (apart from squatting since i lowered weight) But the bench is a PR, pushups are going up every session and the reverse crunches are a killer!

Saturday:

Squats
5x5 (176lbs)

BB OH Press
5x5 (132lbs)

Deadlifts
1x5 (242lbs)

Form is good, going up steadily.

Wide Pullups
1x7
1x5
1x2

NEVER got 7 doing these, a massive improvement. Was very happy! I'm really seeing some good strength results already with this programme. I think it's because it's so different to how i used to train that it's a total shock.

Prone Bridges
3x30 sec

Lookin good man! You are on the up and up, 7 pullups is awesome!...while I am slowing degrading and losing gains. How nice. I am closing on a house on Thursday though, wooot!!!!!

Yesterday:

Incline DB Press
1 x 5 @ 110
2 x 5 @ 130
1 x 5 @ 140
1 x 5 @ 130

Superset with

Renegade Rows
3 x 5 w/ 55s
2 x 5 w/ 60s

Deadlifts
1 x 5 @ 135
1 x 5 @ 225
1 x 5 @ 245
1 x 5 @ 265
1 x 5 @ 225

I'm not sure yet. I was originally going to go down to 200 and be done with it, but I can already tell I wouldn't be happy at that point (beginning to think I never fu@king will be). I might go down to 190, I'm not sure. All I know is I have already lost a buncha strength and still have a fat stomach.

Yea i know what you mean. I dont even know where my bodyweight is at!

Yesterday trained, loving the new routine still. Seeing improvement with every session!

Squats
5x5 (181.5lbs)

Flat Bench Press
5x5 (192.5lbs)

Inverted Rows
3xF

Pushups
3xF

Reverse Crunches
3x12

Good sh1t, was very pleased with the bench. It's 5x5 with 90kg next time! :) My main aim (short term) was to be repping out with 100kg! Not too far off.
