Big T & MMW: To Keep Lean & Stay Mean ;)

Cheers g8 ;)

Hahaha, way to keep things suave in here T. Yeah, you are right, I'm doing just 3 big compound movements, since I'm focusing mostly on keeping muscle and burning fat. I was down to 221 a couple days ago, but still won't stop till I'm down to 200.

I need better squatting shoes here too, they all just look so ****ing dorky...sorry, being vain, but it's true. Anyhow, good lifts there man, keep going strong.

I feel fat as well, it ****in blows. Being lean was so much more fun.

Get the f**k here Canadian girl, ill show you.

Who can resist a smooth talker like that?

It's pretty tough to resist, g8r, especially when he says it in that deep voice of his ...

But I like to give Tom extra special consideration ... mostly because he likes sheep, and really, who doesn't like sheep? They're so cute and cuddly ... and I'd better stop there before Tom blows his load.

Haha motherf**kers ^^

Well i went out last night, and my run of form is f**king brilliant. A bit ago i was complaining i hadnt had sex for like 6 weeks, now im going good. Did a 31 year old last night, iv been meaning to do her for a while now. She was on the rag as well, didnt bother me though.:D Anyway ill post my workout below.

Before going out i trained mainly back. Was good but was slightly disappointed. Its like my second week back to deadlifting and i went for a 396lb lift LOL.........and failed...

Pullups
4x6 -3 on each set i think

Deadlifts
1x5 (132lbs)
2x5 (220lbs)
1x5 (308lbs)
1x0 (396lbs)

Well the 5 reps with 308 were pretty easy so i just went for a 396, never even tried lifting above 308 LOL. I got it about 2" off the floor and basically gave in, it was ALL a grip problem, the bar just fell out of my hands! I reckon a 352 lift is easily achievable next time though. By this year im determined to get over 400lbs. To say its my second week DLin again i think ill get it no problem.

Pulldowns
1x12 (level 12)
1x10 (level 16)
1x5 (level 20) DS 1x10 (level 12)

Machine Rows
1x12 (132lbs)
1x10 (198lbs)
1x6 (286lbs) !!! -2 full reps on my own

BB Curls
1x4 (77lbs) 1x4 (55lbs) 1x4 (44lbs) >>> X2
1x6 (77lbs) 1x6 (55lbs) 1x6 (44lbs)

This was a killer.

Overall i was VERY pleased with my pulling yesterday. That deadlift its going to go up now, my form is good now. Im badly hungover today, and think im going to go for a run.

When your goal is to lose body fat and and still pack on muscle your diet is extremely important. You need to fuel it enough to support your demanding workouts but not so much that you're storing any extra calories.

Learning the 'science' of eating will make a huge different for both of you.
Also, it may sound like a nuisance, but you should invest in calipers and test your body fat composition each week. You want to make sure that and drop in weight is actual fat and not muscle mass. For example, if you lose 2 lbs in a given week but your body fat % doesn't change you know you have to make some adjustments.

I love the motivation you guys give each other, amazing what you can do when you're focused.

Best of luck

Well cheers for the input man i appreciate it.

I already understand diet and what/how i SHOULD be eating. Often i keep to my diet, which i admitt is not so accurate as in calorie counting etc. At this time in my life iv got too many other factors affecting me to where i have a perfect diet.

MMW seems to have his diet to almost perfection.

Had a short workout today.

Shoulders/abs

Seated DB OH Press
1x10 (99lbs)
2x5 (121lbs)
1x8 (99lbs)

Felt weak today.

Clean & Press
3x5 (132lbs)

Shrugs
3x10 (198lbs)

Finished with some cardio and ab work.

I had a couple lifting workouts over the weekend, and ran a bit...nothing memorable. Sucks that my lifts are just staying the same now that I'm not eating enough.

Oh and my diet is pretty good, but only when I actually stick to it. Just like you T, the weekends is when I'm most likely to just say F it and eat what I want...I guess I never go ridiculously overboard, but it's not good sometimes. Bad habits...hard to break. Anyhow, this time of year makes it hard for everyone as it is...I guess I'm just wanting to weather the storm, enjoy the holidays, and keep on doing what I'm doing.

Well today had a quick leg session.

Squats
1x12 (132lbs)
1x10 (220lbs)
1x5 (264lbs)

Seated Leg Press
2x12 (352lbs)
1x10 (440lbs)

Seated Leg Curls
1x15 (90lbs)
1x10 (110lbs)
1x10 (130lbs)

Standing Calf Raises
3x10

Sup guys? Hope you had a great holiday.

Thanks amigo, good holiday was had by me. Good times with family and friends, and some nice gifts given and received. How about yourself?

It's been rough training and diet-wise, but I'm not beat up about it. It was more fun to have some tasty meals than to stress over it, but that's just me. I know some people are even more strict this time of year. Anyhow, I've got my normal meals packed today at work, and am looking forward to lifting and running after getting off!

Yea holiday has been good for me, dont go back to work till the 6th! I trained yesterday & today. Eating has been appaulling but i really dont care, having fun is my main priority, why bother stressing over some food.

I even weighed myself today and im 222lbs which isnt half as bad as i thought i was going to be. As soon as new year comes, weight loss will be taken seriously.

Dont you think its easier to stay on track with an office job MMWs? Becasue what you pack is what you eat. :)

How was yours g8?

Mine was great, Tom. I had/have last week and this week off, but January starts my busy schedule. Glad you and MMW had nice holidays.

Not going back till the 6th eh? Nice man, enjoy that! I got my meals back on track and also trained yesterday, damage wasn't really that bad. But I'm with you, I'd rather eat some delicious food and not worry about it.

My weight was pretty much the same, just felt weaker lifting. I think I'll have my mojo back tonight though, we'll see.

As for your question, HELL YES! It's funny how structured my life is on work days, pack all my meals, eat great, gym right after work, then eat planned meals at night, followed by great sleep.

On the weekends though, I almost never have my planned meals, I drink booze, and am much more likely to ditch the gym. It's been worse the last couple weeks with the holidays and stuff, should ease up, but yeah, I agree 100%.
