Beagle's New Journal

Oh and on the exams - I get to my first one today and get all ready to take the exam and when the prof walks in, he just starts writing notes on the board! I panicked for a little bit and thought I MISSED the exam, but I guess in one of the classes I missed (to squeeze in more studying, lol) he decided to postpone the test till Friday! Man though, I almost had a damned heart attack. So I've got a couple more days to squeeze some more knowledge into my little brain.

The swedish oral exam went okay, it was actually kind of short, and I think I did okay. It was nice of the prof to let us know ahead of time what we'd be expected to do so we could prepare it :)

LOL I would have panicked too thinking I'd missed the exam. At least you have a little more time to prepare. Is he adding more material to the test?

Those DVD's sound great. I have a few VHS tapes. Cindy Crawford and some Pilates. Cindy is funny, she says, "don't worry if you can't keep up with me" while they are cutting and splicing her video showing her in different outfits not even breaking a sweat. It's too funny.

I'm glad to hear your tapes are giving you a good workout. I like to gauge my workouts by how much sweat I leak out. I feel the more sweat the better! Way to go! I love being a sweaty pig after a workout. Feels good.

Beagle.. still lookin good today. Congrats on the exam postponement!(sp) ok.. so it said you were logged in here, but you are no where to be found on YM. Ohhh gosh darn it ! ;)

Hm, how many calories do you think half a plate of alfredo with shrimp and half a plate of 3 cheese ravioli, and a breadstick and half of a serving of stuffed mushrooms is? A lot, I bet :p Good thing all I had to eat otherwise today was a sandwich that was worth about 250 calories.

Today was another skip day... it is too darned cold to go to school today (feels like -40C after the windchill!!). I still have to go to work, but at least it'll be after the sun has had a chance to warm the day up a little, and my mom has offered to pick me up from work.

I really haven't eatten yet today but I plan to in the next half hour or so, and then I'll get a good Jam in before work too. I'm going to try and eat really light the next couple of days to try and make up for the last couple.

Oh girl! I just love that shrimp alfredo! Mama Mia! lol You did din sounds so good. My mouth is watering.

I don't blame you for staying in today. Sounds incredibly cold where you are. I don't know how you do it! I went to PA the year before last and was freaking out because even my gums in my mouth were cold, that was a first for me. I couldnt even go outside without a scarf and gloves. Frozen ice on the glass of the car! It was too much. Fun for the first few minutes until I was shaking and my lungs hurt from the cold air. I guess you adapt to it?

Have a good day at work! Sorry you have to go out in that. I feel for ya.

It usually isn't nearly this cold, MJ, or at least not in recent years (it used to get this cold all the time when I was a kid, but global warming has worked in our advantage up north ;) ). So I'm really not used to it. I'm gonna have to bundle right up to go to work today. Hat, gloves, scarf, the works.

In any case, I got my exercise in after brunch (too late for it to be breakfast :p), and I rediscovered the most wonderful feeling in the world: A steaming super-hot shower right after an intense workout! :D Usually I have to ration my hot water because we have a dinky heater here and I have to share the water with everyone else in the house, but Oh - there's no one home today!! The heater will have hours to replenish its supply before anyone even gets home.

Hey ya Beagle :D Looks like you did beautifully today :) Hope work went well for ya and you didn't freeze your tookus off :) Its blasted cold here today, too but not as cold as you are I bet. Keep up the good a work and have a great night :D

Don't worry about me, Cassie, I'm spending as little time as possible outside today :D

Also, it looks like for at least one week, I'll be BOTH working and going to school full time  Because the center I'm at is undergoing a transition to a different project, everyone has to get retrained. They've been doing it gradually over the past year or so, but I've been skipped over because I'm always part time... and now us part-timers are the only ones left. Its a two week training session, but the first week will be during Reading Week when I have no classes, so it minimizes the impact. Still though, I am going to be stressed out of my ears for that one week - school until 3, work at 3:30 to midnight, home by 1:30 and straight to sleep. I don't expect to be exercising much, so I'll have to be extra careful about what I eat.

There are whisperings that management is going to try and make a "special" training schedule for us part-timers that might include any of a) longer training shifts b) a longer training period in terms of weeks, c) condensed info. Still, I'm not holding my breath, management doesn't come through on half the things they promise us.

Good mornin' Beagle :) Well, looks like Canada will be sending us some of that frigid air this weekend :( Right now its raining and will be hailing by noon and WELL below zero tonight. Mega bummer.

Make sure to get enough rest during your stress week. A tired stress case is a healthy stress case waiting to fall ill. You'll do fine with your calories that week. I know you will :D

Hope today goes well for ya and you keep up the good work.

Oh you can bet I'll get in some jam sessions, NewLeaf - I have to get in as many as possible in the next week to make up for the ones I'll probably end up missing the week after.

Cassie - I will do my best to get enough rest that week, if I go to bed as soon as I get home I'll be okay, but I find it hard to just go right to bed after getting home. Usually takes me at least an hour or two to wind down. Who knows, maybe after the first couple of days I'll be so tired it won't matter and then I can catch up :p

Ok... maybe not. lol. I WOULD maybe suggest trying to get up at 6:30 then Jam, but goign to bed at 1:30 roughly, isn't so great to be losing anymore sleep. Stinky!! :) Well.. get your rest.. all that running with work and school, you'll be doing some exercise there.. :D
