Hey everyone! My week is going ok so far. I didn't get to exercise yesterday but I am going to fit it in any way I can today. I am really focusing on getting my water in. I have bloat issues ;-(. But I am down 1lb so I am happy. I hope I can loss another pound or 2 by Friday. I guess we will see!
 
I'm glad to hear from a few of you.

I had a yummy lunch again today. 1/2 pita, lettuce, feta, sauteed onion, and diced chicken breast. Peppers would've been good-but I didn't have any in the house.

Down to 204 today. :) Down a pants size since this started! I hope to lose another pound by Friday.

I'm not going to let Thanksgiving ruin me. I'll have plenty of turkey, probably no desserts, maybe a tiny bit of some sides.

I won't let the holidays be an excuse for me.
 
This week is going okay. I'm not eating as well as I did last week but I'm still losing weight. Went swimming yesterday which was amazing!! And I'm still not smoking. YAY!!!

I had almost the exact same thing for lunch -- 1/2 pita with meunster cheese, roasted onion, diced chicken breast and baby spinach ... it totally hit the spot! Had some almonds and an apple to finish and it was perfect. What a great choice! lol!

How did everyone do for fitting in extra exercise??

So far in the 6 weeks til Christmas Challenge, we have taken in more water instead of soda and found a way to fit exercise into every day activities. Hopefully these challenges are helping you form healthy habits.

Week 3 Mini Challenge!

In the US, yesterday was Thanksgiving. So this week I made a challenge to help all of us burn off some extra calories we might have eaten yesterday.

This week I challenge all of you to find 30 minutes-6 days a week to fit in some sort of cardio exercise. It can be anything. Swimming, brisk walking, jogging/running, aerobics, a work out video, Tae Bo, Boxing, Cycling, Dancing, anything you want.

If you want to make this challenge more interesting... try a different form of cardio each of the 6 days. But you don't have to if a routine works best for you.

Good Luck fellow challengers! I hope you all stick through this challenge!
 
This challenge is going to be especially hard for me, because most of my exercise thus far has been strength-related. And the fact that I work 10-12 hour days, and its hard to find time. But this is critically important to our health. And I will think twice before letting a holiday-dessert ruin all my hard work.

Down another 3 pounds this week! I don't think I'll make it to my original goal of 190 by Christmas, but 195 is totally reachable.

How did everyone else do??
 
Hi. I got down one pound this week. Couldn't have done it without your challenge holding me accountable. I did ok with the walking challenge. I count my steps on a pedometer and I averaged an extra 1,000 steps a day this week. Looking forward to this week's challenge, too.

I'm so glad you are getting some use out of my challenge! I love to host them, so if I'm making a difference it is actually worth while. An extra 1,000 steps a day! Thats amazing! And congrats on losing a pound!
 
I didn't have the best week on extra exercise. Maybe this week will be better?

Is it 30mins more than what you would normally do?
 
I would have liked to see a loss this week ... but I made my goal maintaining (because I LOVE Thanksgiving) and I'm happy to say I've achieved it. Hoping to see a good number this next week -- but maintaining is good enough for me this time! In past years I would have gained 5lbs. by now with all the holiday food around me!

I totally agree with you there Addie! Its rough having all this food around me.... but I try my best to avoid it now. Thanksgiving I got by with turkey, squash, and Portuguese Stuffing which has no bread in it. My cheat was 2 pieces of Monkey Bread-some cinnamon sugar bundt thing. YUM. It could've been a lot worse... I skipped on mashed potatoes and bread stuffing, as well as the green bean caserole, and ALL the appetizers and desserts.

I'm sure you'll see a good loss this week!
 
I was too lazy yesterday to get in cardio. I got in a good 30 minutes of strength training exercises though. And VERY unfortunately that leaves me with cardio for the next 6 days. AND to top it all off, I have a 13 hour work day today.... and only an hour until I have to leave. I am going to take a 1 mile jog, and finish whatever time I have left into step aerobics when I get home at midnight tonight.

How is everyone doing on the challenge?? I'm failing at it. lol. I haven't exercised once. *slap on hand* No matter what I eat... my weight hasn't budged. I hope if I really work it for these next 2 days that I will at least see a 1 pound loss.

I wouldn't say that I'm doing well ... but I'm doing a lot better than I anticipated. I've worked out for over 40 minutes both on Monday and this morning, and on the days in between I make sure to go for some short walks for at least 10 minutes and get in some simple daily strength exercises and stretching. I've been waking up to do my 40 minute workouts in the morning and man ... I feel great afterwards. It's truly incredible the kind of difference it makes in my day. I'm hoping I'll get up tomorrow and the next day to do it as well. :)
 
Sat-1.5hrs Kung Fu
Sun- 3hrs Kung Fu
Mon- No exercise :(
Tue- Gym + Cardio class- 2.5hrs roughly
Wed- Went for a 45min walk because I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the gym
Today- Gym + Possible cardio class
Friday- Gym

Silly Monday, otherwise I wouldn't have had to get up at 6am on Wed for a walk...
 
Ahhh...

Curse Thanksgiving and the massive amounts of left-overs it produces, lol...and my extreme addiction to macaroni. I was at home, so I couldn't weigh in, but I did this morning and the damage wasn't as bad as I thought...+2lbs. :/
It's over now and I'm glad. I'm getting back to business today. :)
