water intake

My water intake is usually really good.. When I started out soda was the first thing I cut out. Now I only drink soda maybe once or twice a month if that. If I drink anything other than water it is typically (a single metric cup) of coffee in the morning.. and iced greentea in the afternoons--but even that I've cut waaay back on.

This weekend I had a bit of problem with it as I do most weekends.. Being busy around the house I just forget to drink enough water. At work I'm always pounding the water back to help with my irrational desire to munch while I work. I always try to drink 2L of water daily... Usually I only make it to 1 or 1.5.

I've lost 1lb already 9 more to go and I'll have made my goal within this challenge!

Same with me! I found that I had a really difficult time drinking all the water I should have been this weekend. It's so easy at work ... and I'm the same that I always want to snack when I'm not even hungry while at the office ... I think it's because I'm so bored, haha!

I know you're supposed to drink more than the recommended 8 glasses a day when you're really big ... is there a good rule to follow on hydration and water consumption? My mom is concerned I may be drinking TOO much water. I usually do 120-150oz. a day -- which is a little less than I used to when I was pregnant. Is there a danger to drinking too much? How do I know how much is too much for my weight?

Sounds like you are doing really well. I know a lot of people probably already cut out soda, I just thought that water is an important step... so if you already have- just drink more I guess? lol.

Great job on the pound lost! I know you'll get to your goal!

I've heard that ideally, you should be drinking half your weight in ounces. So me, I"m now, 239 pds, so I'll drink about 120 oz a day.

i'm really excited about this challenge. its only 4 days in and i have so much more energy. i am living at a residential college so all meals are prepared for us so sometimes its difficult to sort through the crap for the goodness. i have been trying to fill at least 3/4 of my plate with salad or vegetables so the kitchen ladies can't pile my plate full of unhealthy food!
im not a big soda drinker, so im trying to cut back my juice. when i have a glass of juice i have a glass of water at the same time and drink the water first which usually fills me up so i dont feel like juice.

now ive got the eating under control the next goal is to focus on exercise...

Wow Korrie, congrats!! That's freaking amazing :)

Hey so quick question, I eat roughly the same amount of calories everyday, even on the days I work out, is that okay or should I increase them a bit?
I just started working out though so I don't do that much anyway :p

Anyway, hope everyone's doing greattt!! Keep up the good work :)

are you crazy hungry on the days you go to the gym? If you're not hungry don't eat.. but if you think you could use a bit more energy to get you through your gym days why not add eat a bit more. As long as you're still in the negative with calories spent vs eaten it shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry for the late post :)

All of you are allowed to join. I have no restrictions. This is for motivation-not for restrictions. lol. I'm glad I can do something to help motivate people. If someone gets use out of having a challenge to help them out and keep them accountable-I'll keep making them.

I'm still drinking 3-32 oz water bottles a day. I'm missing my bottled water though. haha. I have an appointment with my photographer friend on December 7th to get a picture taken of my brother and I to give to my mother for Christmas. And I'm sure I'll take some singles so I can mail them out to other relatives. That is definitely helping to motivate me. :D I am 206 today. I am hoping to be around 195 when picture time comes. :) I'm so happy and motivatedddddddddd to make a change.

Okay- so I just made myself a healthy pizza. And it was great!

I cut a whole wheat pita in half (I only ate the one half...70 calories). Then I put some basil marinara sauce on it (about 1/3 cup... 50 calories). then some fat free cheddar cheese. (I could've used a fat free mozzarella and fat free cheddar mix... but it was about 1/4 cup. 45 calories), and then chopped up a 1/8 cup full of red onions, and put it under the broiler for a bit until the crust got crispy. That is 165 calories...plus the red onions... umm... 15 calories maybe? Now we're up to 180. And I dipped it in fat free ranch dressing... 40 calories. for 220 calories I had a snack that felt so naughty!

It would be good to mess with this recipe and add some chicken breast, substitute or include some BBQ sauce in the sauce... some herbs... I don't know. I'm a cook and I can only dream of all the possibilities. lol.

Just thought I would share. I'll post more if I try some. :D

That pizza sounds really yummy. Thanks for posting it. I like having low fat snack options. I kind of do the same thing only I use an english muffin. I also use real cheese. I just can't eat the fat free stuff. Cheese is my one indulgence. I don't eat a lot of it because of the fat. I eat mostly fat free stuff.

I made chicken salad tonight with boneless skinless chicken breasts. I used fat free Miracle Whip with onions and pickles. It ended up being only 158 calories and 1.3 grams of fat. That didn't include the bread. It didn't taste that much different from the full fat version I used to make. It rocked! There are also leftovers for our lunches. Yay. :)

I am really trying to push my self to work out during lunch today but i am soooo tired! This week is going very well so I'm trying to keep pushing. I want to see 189 (scale) on Friday. I know that like 3 pounds but that would really make my day.

low fat doesn't nec. mean its the best option. Natural fat is good and healthy for you to have. Also what I like to use instead of mayonaise or miracle whip is plain yogurt. I've even contimplated using vanilla yogurt. :)

and p.s. I used to live in Overland Park a few years back!

Yay, 1kg :D Wasn't expecting that. My scale has been holding steady at the same weight for the whole week. :D

I am ready to see what the scale has to say tomorrow.

I'm hoping something good.. haha I haven't stepped foot on my scale in a couple of days.. so I'm reallllyy hoping some efforts have paid off too!
