Cohen's Lifestyle 2nd Time lucky!!!

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Great start Beck!!
I'll be with you for those 13kgs then keep going for the rest of mine. It's amazing that you lost so much and have only gained such a lttle back -13kg is manageable. I hope I can keep it off afterwards too -I also know that my body doesn't cope with carbs and fats -it efficiently stores them for some imaginary famine! Just have to deal with that.
Have a great day. Oh andhappy Australia Day too.

Well, I'm almost through my first day back on Cohens and it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I felt a bit crappy earlier today but had a nanna nap in my recliner after lunch and it purked me up and I felt much better after and even managed a bit of house work!!
I had my usual boiled egg on crackers with tomato and cucumber slices for breakfast, a nectarine for morning tea, a tuna salad with 2 more crackers for lunch, i didn't even feel like anything for afternoon tea and just finished dinner of steak with mayonaisse, tomato and mushroom slices piled on top (which is really yummy) and I still have my second piece of for supper. I'm feeling pretty positive, not at all hungry and think that it will only get better from here!!
Yay Cohens, I'm back on track and find that my body seems to breathe a sigh of relief whenever I get back on track, a bit like it is saying...Thanks that feels better.
Anyway, have a great night everyone, I'm going to see how Cate is doing.
Take care
Beck
Almost forgot to say, I've also had 2.5 litres of water so far which really helps.

Hi all,

I have a few minutes before we run of to do the gym run so I'll just do a quick post.
I LOVE COHENS!!!!
I woke up this morning feeling much less bloated (like you Cate) and not at all foggy or hungry. Hopped on the scale and, guess what, 1.5kg's down!!!
I'm powering through today and not feeling bad at all. No hunger, no headache and I'm sure I can get to the end.
Its so nice that a few others have decided to join us and we can all keep each other inspired. Good luck everyone.
I'd better go as I'll be getting chased out the door in a minute and I need to update my ticker.
Take care
Beck

Fantastic Beck! 1.5kg!! Woo Hoo!!! Don't you just love Cohen's!! I had better get the heck out of here before my fingers hurt & I really need more water, xo Cate(I've got a doozy of a head-ache)

Woo Hoo!!!!!!:party::party:
I LOVE COHENS!!!!

Weighed again this morning and I'm down ANOTHER 1.5KGS!!!
Can you believe it, I can't. 3 kgs in 2 days. AMAZING!
I know its probably all fluid, but I really don't care. It's better out than in, I say..Lol..
I've now done 2 deviation free Cohens days and I'm really back to felling like I never went off it. The feel good hormones are kicking in, I'm not hungry at all and I'm starting to get my energy back again.
I've been drinking about 2.5ltrs of water per day and sticking to my usual eating plan which is:
Breakfast;
2 crackers with a hard boiled egg, tomato and cucumber slices with a cup of black tea
Morning Tea:
1 nectarine
Lunch:
Tuna salad made with diced tomato and celery and occasionally a little bit of red onion and 2 more crackers
Afternoon Tea:
Another nectarine
Dinner:
Steak topped with my daily mayonaisse then tomato slices and fried mushroom and my last cracker.
Yummy and it seems to do the job. When my weight loss slows down I usually change my menu around a little bit to give it a bit of a jump start, but generally I am a creature of habit and tend to eat the same thing every day.
Take care everyone
Beck

Fluid shmuid, who cares? Well done Beck. I chickened out on weighing just in case I hadn't lost any more. I will tomorrow though! I'm feeling good already too. It's nice that we're pacing ourselves & doing the same days at the same time. It feels much better to have company. Cheers for now,my friend, Cate.

Hi everyone,
I can't report any weight loss today as my scales decided to die on me this morning. What a dilema for a compulsive weigher. I am totally devistated..lol.. I don't want to have to buy new ones as they may not weigh the same as my existing scales and I won't know for sure how much I have lost, but I may well have to. I have changed the batteries, kicked them a few times and even tried dropped them from a small height (very technical I know), all to no avail. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It was my first day back at work after 2 weeks off and I found that I got a little bit hungry there today. I haven't been at all hungry at home as I've been staying busy and occupied, but today at work was very, very quiet and there was almost nothing to do which I think made me think that maybe I should be eating to pass the time. I didn't though. I just drank more water and had 2 cans of diet soft drink to keep me going. I am still feeling really good and telling everyone that I am back on my program to ensure total embarassment if I break it (which I have no intention of doing), and also to ensure total support from those around me. Everyone I know is always so encouraging and helpful to me when they know I am doing Cohens and they all try to not tempt me in any way.
Sorry, I'd better go as OD needs to be picked up from work and dropped to cheer in a minute and I'll be shot if I'm late!!
Have a great noght everyone.
Take care
Beck
PS.. Nola, when is your new program arriving. Looking forward to having you back on the forum on a regular basis (or as regular as you can manage with your busy schedule)

Good on you Beck - yes, it's easier when you are busy isn't it? I'm back at work too and felt a bit obvious weighing my food but that's fine.

As for the scales -don't buy any for a couple of weeks and surprise yourself then. Or buy a wii fit and use it for weighing accurately and for yoga etc

Keep on inspiring us, Beck

Thanks Cuddlebones. I tend to make my lunch at about 11.50, before anyone else is in the kitchen and then just eat it at the correct time. this avoids all the questions and explaining. Everyone is very encouraging and supportive but I just get a little bit over explaining the whole thing constantly and then you get the "how much weight have you lost" and when you tell them they all want to know all about the program. It just gets a bit much at times so i try to avoid it!!
I gave the scales an almighty bang and they have decided to work again for me and I'm down another .5kgs, Yayyy!! 3.5kgs in 4 days.
I would love to but a wii fit, but unfortunately finance don't allow it at the moment, so I'll just keep going with my old cruddy scales and hope they keep going for a bit longer. Once I stabilise my weight a bit I'll be able to buy a new set without stressing too much that they will weigh differently.
Sorry I'd better go and get ready for work. Have a great day everyone.
Take care
Beck

Good on you, Beck. The encouraging thing is that once you go back on, those first few kilo's shift really FAST....

I've been back on Cohen's for 3 weeks now. I'm sitting on a plateau, which is really, really annoying. The scales haven't gone down in a WEEK. However, my measurements have gone down quite a lot, so I don't know what my body is doing to me!! :cuss: I'm comforting myself with the thought that perhaps I've built a little muscle from a few bouts of serious exercise I did - but I'm obviously losing fat. My abdomen and thighs went down the most, which is great! :smilielol5: I'm also in PMT week which is a shocker for me - I always retain lots of fluid.

I'm going to try not to weigh myself for another week, but as I'm poised to go below 90kg with the next drop, it's hard to resist the temptation! Just as well I'm very, very busy at work.

When I bought a pair of scales the previous time I was on Cohen's, I spent a lot of time ummming and aaahing over what to get. There are so many different sorts, different features and so on. In the end, I chose a really, really plain set which don't do ANYTHING other than weigh, however they are a good German brand, so cost a little more than other plain ones (but less than lots with whiz-bang extras). I figure that way I might get a long run out of them. They were also on sale, which was nice! Maybe, because yours are starting to play up, you can get another pair when you can afford it and compare weights BEFORE the old set die completely... that way you'd be sure what you've lost.

I know what you mean about being SICK of people asking what you are doing, what you can eat, blah blah. I'm sick of it already and I'm only just at the beginning again! Not only that, but then they suggest all sorts of food, extras and toppings and ask you individually if you can eat THAT particular thing!

I have no desire to cheat at the moment, which is good. I have little desire to drink much water, which is bad. If I don't drink most of it in the morning, I seem to have to get up at night to pee, which is irritating. I've tried all sorts of things, but somehow my body doesn't like all the litres of water. Anyway, I was good today and made a really big effort with it. I'm having trouble remembering to eat the biscuits as well - a couple of days I just forgot.

Hi all,
Well my first week back on Cohens is over and I'm down 5kgs!!!!:hurray::hurray:
I haven't found it at all hard getting back on track and I am finding it seems to get easier each time I go back on the program. I seem to slip straight back into the eating pattern and my body seems to appreciate the fact that it is eating how it should be and promptly sheds the excess weight (especially in the first week).
I am now back to being only 3kgs away from my previous lowest ever weight of 75kgs but I am hoping to go below this to where I always wanted to go and I am going to try for 70kgs ( or I might even get really ambitious and see if I can go all the way to Dr Cohens goal weight of 66kgs...maybe???, or maybe that it being a bit too ambitious, we'll see when I get closer). I also only have one more week that I HAVE to stick to Cohens before I can refeed (as you have to do 2 weeks deviation free before you can refeed) which is really good for my mindset. Knowing that I can stop it any time I want is always an incentive for me to keep going.
I'm not getting hungry at all and I am also regaining my energy so feeling fantastic. The only downside for me when doing Cohens is that it is my TOM every second week :ack2:, but I'll cope as its worth it.
Nola, hope you are having a good week and you're off that plateau and in the 80's, how exciting!! You sound like you're doing really well and I'm certain if you're not off the plateau you soon will be. I might just take your advice on the scale issue. I got my scales working again (with a huge whack on the ground), but I don't know how much more life they have in them so I think it is probably better to get a new set while I can still compare weights. Sorry to rattle on today.
Have a great night everyone.
Take care
Beck

Snap! Your post is almost identical to what I would have said. We're doing well. Same aim, almost there, might go further. Life is good. Cheers Beck, Cate

Well beck,
I am so happy to hear you have slipped back on the wagon with ease.. I cant say that I am among those who find it easy… ha ha ha… 1 week that is great.. I know that before long we will be congratulating you on reaching reefed then before we know it it will be a posting party because you have reached gw…. I am so excited for you….

Niyah.. no point harping on the importance of water but try and remember your carbs it is important for brain function and energy…ha ha ha. Besides, the loss you may experience from not eating them is not worth the depravation…. . it is very rare that I don’t eat all my crispbreads.. yum yum yum… Premium original are my favourites… I look forward to welcoming you to the 80’s…
Anyway I have to move on to the next post.. Take care everyone..
We will do it….

TTFN
Chelle

Thanks Chelle,
You're not too far behind either now and you should be getting close to your refeed in the not too distant future as well. Don't you just love how fast the weight melts off you??
Well no weight loss this morning which is most probably due to the 5 hours sleep last night (I should probably try for a bit more). I would like to try to lose 1.5 to 2 kgs this week, but I'll just have to wait and see. My clothes are getting loose again which is a really nice feeling as before I came back on Cohens my trousers were getting very tight and my favourite pair were almost unwearable. Its very nice to feel good in them again.
I almost forgot, I get new built in wardrobes tomorrow which will make a huge difference to the cleanliness of my house..Yayyy. We can get everything sorted out and find a place for everything.
Not much to say today, but I hope everyone is having a fantastic day.
Take care
Beck

Hi all,
I have just realised that after Monday I can complete re-feed any time I like as I will have been 2 weeks deviation free..Yayyy.
I'm not sure how much longer I will stay on the program though. As of this morning, I am down 6kgs in the just under 2 weeks that I have been back on the program. I am hoping to go a bit futher, but it is good to know that if it ever gets too much I can stop.
I am really missing my cappuccinos and vegemite. These are the 2 things I find it hardest to go without. I think the coffee is the worst though and I think the main reason is that coffee is such a social thing. My sister and I and my parents often sit and have a "cuppa" together and it just doesn't seem the same with black tea. Most of all though, my OD and I often go and sit at a cafe or something and get a "cuppa" while my YD is training at gym, and this is a time where we really chat about everything that is happening in our lives. We don't sem to do it as much when I'm on Cohens as she doesn't want me to be tempted (I assure her its fine but she doesn't like to drink alone). So I think that I miss the coffee more for out chats and closeness than just for the coffee as its just something nice we do together. Well not much longer. I'll keep plodding and hopefully have another good week next week and then I'll re-assess what I'm doing.
So far I have lost: 4.5kg - week 1 back on Cohens
1.5kg - week 2 back on Cohens (with 2 days to go)
If I were to do another 2 kgs next week that would put me back at 75kgs which is the lowest Cohens weight I have been and usually on re-feed I would lose another 2 to 2.5kgs so I'm just not sure what I'm going to do yet.
Sorry to ramble on this morning.
Have a great day everyone, and it looks like its Sydney's turn for the heat wave this weekend with 44 degree days predicted. Lets hope they're wrong!!

Beck

Snap, again. I'll keep going for a while longer. Just popped in quickly to say hi as I'm meant to be typing up an 8-ball ladder for distribution this morning. Cheers Beck, xo Cate.

Hi, busy gal! Hope the heat hasn't been too bad but I think it has. How's the weight-loss going? I'm feeling good, hunger has subsided, even with ditch-digging, cheers & xo, Cate

Ditch digging, Cate, you are keen!!!!
I'm glad your hunger has subsided, mine has also but I'm getting extremely bored with the food. I need to shake up my menu plan and stop eating the same thing every day. I just like what I eat and can't be bothered thinking of something else to cook :nopity:.
No more weight loos for the last few days, but I know that for the last few days I wasn't drinking enough water. I have tried to drink a bit more today so hopefully it will make a difference tomorrow. I'm still unsure when I will complete re-feed. I think I will just keep plodding along until I can't plod any more and then I will start re-feed. It could be tomorrow, it could be in 2 weeks time. I would really like to lose a few more kilos (although I am really happy with myself where I am), but if I find I have had enough, I would rather do refeed than to break the program. You can probably tell, I'm very unsure. If I lose too many more kilos, I will have to buy all new clothes as my size 12's are getting quite loose on me at the moment and I'll probably be into 10's (woo hoo, that would be nice).
The girls are settled back into school, and I spent last night assembling new Ikea desks for them both and also new stools for at our kitchen bench. I love Ikea! $16.95 each for the stools which are nothing flash but do exactly what we want them to (provide a seat!!)
I cancelled my gym membership today as I have been unable to go regularly for at least the last year and I was intending to go 3 mornings a weeks this year when my YD was training, but my OD has arrived home with her timetable and she has early classes at school 3 mornings a weeks (2 of which coinside with YD training days), so instead of going to the gym I am racing home to get OD ready and deliver her to school before heading back to the gym to collect YD and then taking her to school and then off to work. I grudge spending $75.00 per fortnight (for myself and OD) for something I can't use. I'll have to find some other time for exercise, not sure when though.
Sorry, I'm really rambling tonight, I'd better go and leave you all in peace.
Take care
Beck

Well the extra water has had the desired effect as I'm down another .5kg this morning which makes it 6.5kgs since restarting. I'm trying to make sure my water intake is staying up today and hopefully I will have a reasonable week again this week.I don't have much to report on today. I think I rambled myself all out last night!!
We're praying for all the Victorians and hoping it rains there soon to enable all the fire fighters to get the fires out and that the little b@$#ards stop lighting them so they have some peace down there soon. They were saying in the paper that when they catch them they are going to charge them with murder. Hopefully 200 odd times!!
Have a great day everyone.
Take care
Beck

Beck- I've lost 6.5kg also, down .5 this morning. It's funny. I feel a bit the same today. I've been full of energy all day & it's just gone pfft! xo Cate
