20 something club?

I was just reading a few pages back, and there was some discussion of wearing only long pants and long-sleeved shirts because of feeling that the arms/legs aren't nice enough to show. I remember i used to ONLY wear jeans, even in the scorching summer sun (and i live in ontario.. lol) up to like 28 degrees Celcius, which is like 80 Fahrenheit. I used to sweat sooo much, and it was uncomfortable, all because i hate my legs. lol

I have stopped since. I wear shorts now. but i remember the naked feeling when i was wearing shorts, not being used to it. i guess i am just trying to post, telling how it is not fair that we have to sweat and be uncomfortable just because we are already uncomfortable in our skin. i understand it, and i think that it needs to change. who cares if you have a chunky thigh or calf (i actually have the biggest calves. i can't find nice knee-high boots that will zip over my calves lol). i am SURE that it is not as bad as you may think... and even if it is, who cares?? why should you have to be sweaty and uncomfortable in heavy clothes in the middle of the summer heat just cause you may have some extra pounds?

(i hope that this came off right. lol i meant only the kindest of words... almost like a motivational pep talk haha)

You're so right! I am sick of covering up in the sweltering heat. I am definitely wearing some shorts this summer.

And I have the same problem with boots too! I had to get my boots from Zappos where they have "plus size" boots.

In other news, I am down to 171.8 today! Woo-hoo! I am so close to 160s!!! :willy_nilly:

In Florida where I am we really only have two seasons Hot Summer and Not So Hot Summer

23male at 6 ft tall..My peak weight was 250, im at 235...trying to get around 200 by summer..180-190 would be awesome but that is LONG term heheh. I weight myself every 2 weeks. Just because when i see my number its a reminder to me how much more i have to lose, instead of seeing how much ive actually lost. I'm so excited to lose it tho..i dont think ive ever been skinny before. My birthday June and i picture myself how i am going to look if i stick to it. Im so excited. Ive never really had trouble looking for clothes, but man i would love to be an M or L instead of XL or XXL.

I'm just shy of reaching my GW so hopefully this will give me some motivation to kick butt myself in gear!

I myself find the winter months less motivating than the summer months.

I don't at the moment, but I definitely have been through this several times before. Sometimes you just need a change to remotivate yourself. Maybe try changing up your exercise routine. Try something new, up your speed or reps.

Or sometimes I've been through this because I am thinking too much of how far I am from my goal. It's much better to focus on five or ten pounds at a time. Try to give yourself little rewards for reaching mini goals.

Good luck getting out of your funk! :)

Awesome! Sometimes you just have to take the scale with a grain of salt. Two days ago I weighed 171.8. Then yesterday the scale said 173.0. I knew I had to be retaining water or something. Sure enough, this morning it is back down to 171.8 again.

Glad you found your motivation again!

@ Emerald

1/31/11 171.8
2/1/11 173.0 (+ 1.2)
2/2/11 171.8 (- 1.2)

Back down again!:hurray:

So are we using 1/31 or 2/1 as our starting weight?

:boxing: @ BikiniBound:

1/30/11: 171.0
1/31/11: 170.8 (-.2)

Feb 1st FIGHT!

2/1/11: 171.2
2/2/11: 171.6 (+.4) ???? :banghead:

I'm ready to throw my scale out of the window. I'm sure I'll go down a pound or something all of a sudden soon lol

Feb weight is the starting point. I just want you to see where I came from in January.

Emerald, Dont weigh yourself every day it will only make you angry. weight fluctuates... try just once a week. i know its hard.

Weighing myself everyday is one of the things that keeps me motivated. Trust me, I know all about my crazy weight fluctuations. It doesn't stress me out. Maybe I shouldn't have used that angry smiley? lol I'm not mad at all ^_^
Plus, me and BikiniBound need to know who gets to 5lb lost first.

FIGHTING!
