Today so far:

B: 2 eggs (with yolks, thank you lol), 1 slice of toast with pb

Not sure what the remainder of the day will look like. Taking the girl to story time in a few and so we will be out and about for a while. By the time I get back, it will be time for lunch...well almost. I know that lunch will be the usual and dinner will be spaghetti, but for snacks I don't have a clue. Whatever happened to my goal of eating just fruits and veggies??? Oh yeah I remember....NO WILLPOWER!!! :(
 
Lunch was the salad and I had a package of sliced apples with caramel (160 cals for that). omg....soooo good. Is that bad???

Snack: handful of grapes....and another apples pack.

Am I doing any better u think?

Edited to say: why is it that fruit doesn't satisfy me? The answer to that is probably the lack of protein, right? D@mn protein....lol

It's ok..but leave out the carmel next time. Make the carmel a treat. Just eat the apples.

As for the other thing..I really don't know, but I would probably say yes.
 
I hadn't planned on having the apples and caramel everyday, just as a treat.

A good trick is to match the carbs with a protein. Maybe try apples with a little peanut butter, still sweet, but with protein.
 
Fruit still spikes up your insulin levels so although the fiber (like in apples) helps some with that, they can leave you feeling hungry faster than a protein snack. If you pair the fruit with protein it slows digestion a bit and stablizes your insulin level ;)
Shaving off some of the more sugary snacks seems hard but do it for a week and you'll find you actually crave the better stuff. I used to binge eat on sugar cereal. that was my thing. More sugar made me want...more sugar! but as soon as I added more protein and balanced my snacks out a little the cravings VANISHED. Now I crave things people roll their eyes at. I actually CRAVE my healthy stuff like even celery with PB. I could eat that all day everyday....and thats not Skippy PB btw :D Natty butter only here!

SO anyway, all of that is to say, it CAN be done! start with baby steps. The apples were a good babystep. Next baby step is ditching the caramel :) haha.

Despite it all, you're doing great Wendy.
 
Thanks you guys. I really needed the acknowledgement that I am doing ok. Overall, I feel like I did a great job today. After the apples and after my weights, I ate a snickers protein bar - the WHOLE THING. It wasn't terrific, but man, it wasn't as bad as the others I have tried. :)
 
I guess I'm the only one who thinks it tastes like a snickers. It works for me when I have a chocolate craving/quick snack.
 
I will definitely buy more.

I already ran this morning, bc I ride tonight. I have 4 moms coming over this morning for a play group so I have been busy getting ready for that....and still have stuff to do. I really want to do better in eating....*sigh* perhaps it will sink in somday. LOL
 
I understand that cheat meals should account for no more than 10% of the meals you have in a week. If you want to, you can take today and the previous six days as your test period. Figure out how many meals you had, and then calculate the number of cheats you had. If the second number divided by the first is greater than 0.10, then you have some improvements to make.

For example: If you have 6 meals a day over a week, that's 42 meals total. Which means that no more than 4 should be cheats.
 
Yup...One more week at 126. I WILL DO BETTER next week! I bought a bunch of fruits today at the store. More protein bars, um....what else...I can't remember, but I bought good things this week...and the grocery bill showed it. Ugh.

Today was just BAD for food.

B: Sausage and cheese croissant at DD and some milk
L: (u ready? here we go....) 4 or 5 meatballs, lasagne, bread stick thing, caesar salad and two (yes, two) brownies. oh yeah...and REGULAR soda. :eek:

I don't think I will need to eat again for another 24 hours! lol
