Weight-Loss Who would be interested in a WL competition??

Weight-Loss
Nice analysis Steve.

I think that some people will achieve more than they have anticipated and would be surprised if others manage the numbers that they hope for.

I always think that 1% of weight per week is achievable with hard work - maybe a little more. Obviously we can do more if we know that we are suffering from water retention due to maybe excess sodium or TOM... I would hate it if people became despondent because they didn't quite get the high level that they have set for themselves... It took time to go on and takes time to come off... People can just work hard and see what happens.

I would dearly like to lose more than the 17 pounds that I have set for myself. Maybe I will and maybe I will not. I am a PCOS lady and had to accept a long time ago that I will have to work harder for every bit of weight loss than most people... My hormones want me to be a big lady.

All I can do is work hard and trust that the reward will come.

I always set goals, I find it helps, but I'm realistic in the fact that I might not get to the goal in time. Just means I keep trying after the ten weeks is over.

If we all work as hard as we can - all our weight loss dreams (whatever team we are on for the next 10 weeks) will come true. We have it in our power.

Quercus, we agreed to not do stupid crash diets like eating 441 calories a day. Play nice now.
I went over 441 and that was the day BEFORE the contest. I will not play nice, but I will play fair. I don't need a crash diet to kick your butt!

I'm really afraid of setting goals. I have an issue with feeling very demotivated if I fail at my set goals, so I'm a little careful with them.

You'll need to grow longer legs before you can kick high enough to reach my butt.

The thing that really counts is the weight loss you actually get at the end of the ten weeks and not the goal that you set at the start.

Work as hard as you can and you will be rewarded.

People potentially failing to achieve the almost impossible and becoming demotivated was my fear when I saw some of the large weight losses that some people are hoping for. These challenges are here to motivate us - not demotivate anyone.

monster....go ahead and join team victory please, it seems like 2 of their members have not shown up

Hehe, hopefully everyone will be happy with whatever they lose, whether or not meeting their goals.

Personally I picked a slightly higher goal (3lb a week) to try to push myself that bit more :) No fun in a challenge if you can sail through it in my opinion! :D Even if I don't hit it, and get say 2lb a week. That's still 2lb "a week" gone. So over a stone during challenge.

End of the day any loss is great, hitting a goal is a nice bonus :D

LOL As I see it - anyone who was planning on joining a challenge that they can sail through have found themselves in the wrong thread... This thread is for people who are willing to work hard to make their weight loss dreams come true this year. They want to see some results by Easter!

I would just like to point out that I have earned my team 9 points as of this AM (2 hour ex and 1.333% lost) and with my hour of exercise and low calories it likely will be 13.5 by the end of the day.

I will say that all this exercise is kicking my a$$, but I'm adapting to the hour every time I do it.

You are making your weight loss dreams come true. Every day you are getting nearer to your dream weight AND dream fitness level.

I'm proud of you. Well done!

GOLD - the team that acts like winners from the start.

4.6lbs in 2 days? How lol. *Wonders which limb you cut off* :D

Steve

3 different limbs: The eating like a pig limb, sitting on my butt limb, and drinking like a fish limb. :D

Speaking of which, I have to go see if I can get the old chainsaw fired up as I have some real limbs that need cutting. Firewood warms you twice.

that should be a productive way of burning some calories.
