No mystery on this 2 lb gain, it was last night's binge.

Funny thing is this morning, after my first binge in almost 2 years, and more refined sugar than I have probably eaten in the past year all in one night I feel pretty good. Better than usual at this time of day... Oh well, as I have told so many others what matters is what I do today, not what I did yesterday.

Hope the rest of the day went well Rob. I doubt your binge resulted in 2 lb of fat gain, by the way. Even if you polished off an entire 38 oz "party size" bag of peanut butter M&Ms, that would "only" be ~5600 calories (1.6 lb of fat).

I think it works that way for a lot of us.

My weight keeps creeping up, I am now up 16 pounds since preop, about 3 weeks ago. I would be more worried, but I saw something similar after my first surgery, and it eventually went away. Still if I get into the 160s I will seriously consider reducing calories. Weighing and posting all the time helps, the first time around with this I was a lot more worried.

Well this morning I am at 160, feels kind of like I have crossed a line in the sand.... Now I need to think about what its best to do. I do need to remember that after my first surgery I got up into the mid-160s before going back down, losing 20 lbs in a few weeks, without calorie cutting. I was eating fewer calories that time, but not a lot less. Anyway I have the day to think about it.
  • August began 161, ended 159, ranged 163 to 159.
  • September began 160, ended 158, ranged 160 to 154.
  • October began 159, ended 158, ranged from 155 to 162.
  • November began 160, ended 153, ranged from 153 to 164.
  • December averaged 156 and ranged from 151 to 159.
  • January 2021 averaged 155 and ranged from 149 to 160.
  • February averaged 156 but ranged wildly 145 to 166.
  • March averaged 147, ranged from 143 to 153, the high just the one day after surgery.

You clearly haven't gained 13 lb of fat in 16 days (that would require an excess of 2850 calories/day). But you did change your diet on April 2, about when you started gaining weight, so maybe you might try cutting out dairy again?

My carbs are rising a bit, mostly due to eating more veggies and a little more fruit. Not sure there is anything wrong with that. I have decided to try and eat some diary based yogurt and see how that goes.

Yesterday I had about 8 cups of veggies total, maybe too much, today I reduced it to about 6. There were days a couple of months ago when I would have twice that and more. Less is better I think, still a lot but not quite so excessive. My new thing today was to eat some diary based yogurt, first time in about 6 weeks for any diary things. So far so good, I hope it works out I like yogurt and the diary based a lot better than the fake stuff, and its cheaper and available in a lot more variety.
