Weigh Yourself Everyday (or frequently) Club

Which antivirus are you using?
Also - when did the problems start?

I'll mention it in the mod area - to see whether the owner or anyone there has any ideas about whether anything can be done this end...
I know that San has been having difficulties recently - but she didnt say whether it was linked to an antivirus issue.

I use the Free Avast Antivirus! I am not sure when the problem started, but there were three days that I had not post to this thread. I tried all day on the 9th and several times yesterday morning then last night I was able to post. I also use a Free Malwarebytes Anti-malware and it detected two infections on my computer and I deleted all.

In April I my not be able to post. I have Windows XP and it will not work good after April 8, because they will not be any updates for XP starting April 8th, 2014. I got a Lab Top for Christmas, but havn't used it yet. I am going to try and have it up and going before April 8th. It is Window 7 or 8 not sure. But you guy keep up the good work and I will try to continue to post my weigh.

Well, at least my weight isn't going up. I've been so, so bad, but I won't give up.

Anna, try to keep a personal record of your weigh-in's, that way you can stick to the plan and let us know how you did once you're back :).

I had the exact same problems - it seems that avast has taken a dislike to this site. If you go to avast ---> settings ----> active protection, and there turn off 'Web Shield', then the page should work again without any problems. The Web Shield is not really something that is necessary, from my experience, and avast has a habit of blocking sites randomly and for no good reason at all.

That may be! But I didn't do a thing but clean up my computer with the Mal-ware and ran Avast. I have been using Free Avast for years and they have been the best Free Antivirus that I have used. But any can go bad I guess!!

03/12/14 - 155 Well if I am going to lose this five pounds, looks like I am going to have to pour the exercise, because I sure can't spare the food. We have to eat to stay healthy, to lose the pounds!! :)

Honestly I think it's better to weigh in once a week or every three days to get a more accurate progression of where you're at because your weight fluctuates every day as many of you have seen. Just speaking from experience :)
 
That may be true, Moseslord, but this is for those of us who are obsessive ;) we all take it with a grain of salt and don't get terribly upset. It's all for fun, so, thank you but I know I'm gonna keep doing it =P.

Why You Should Weigh Yourself Everyday

Hi,
I recently read that people who weigh themselves everyday after they reach their target weight are much more likely to maintain their weight than people who seldom get on the scale.

I found this interesting because you very often see advise that you shouldn't obsess about the scale.

I lost 75 pounds 7 years ago, and maintained my weight within 2 pounds of my target weight for for 7 years.

A few months ago, for no special reason, I stayed away from the scale. A few weeks ago, when my clothes hardly fit me, the scale showed me I was up 25 lbs! So much for the advice to stay away from the scale!

By watching what I eat, and weighing myself daily, I have lost 5 pounds over the last couple of weeks. My current weight is 182.0 pounds. I don't like it, but I am at least moving in the right direction again.
