Well, at least my weight isn't going up. I've been so, so bad, but I won't give up.

I can't speak for the others, but it is my own fraught that my weight keeps fluctuating. I need to stick to counting points and exercise and my weigh would start dropping.

Hi,
I recently read that people who weigh themselves everyday after they reach their target weight are much more likely to maintain their weight than people who seldom get on the scale.

I found this interesting because you very often see advise that you shouldn't obsess about the scale.

I lost 75 pounds 7 years ago, and maintained my weight within 2 pounds of my target weight for for 7 years.

A few months ago, for no special reason, I stayed away from the scale. A few weeks ago, when my clothes hardly fit me, the scale showed me I was up 25 lbs! So much for the advice to stay away from the scale!

By watching what I eat, and weighing myself daily, I have lost 5 pounds over the last couple of weeks. My current weight is 182.0 pounds. I don't like it, but I am at least moving in the right direction again.

Juan, you are so right. I weighed myself every day 2 years ago. I lost 50lb and felt GREAT. I stopped weighing myself because I moved away from home, and my weight went up SO fast. I wasn't keeping my mind on my goal. That's why I think that, if you do it with fluctuation in mind, you shouldn't be seen as obsessive for weighing every day. It's a routine, just like brushing your teeth.

I have never went on a starvation diet!

Yesterday: Two slices of toast (35cal bread) with a little country Crock, one Quaker Chewy bar. For lunch: Black beans and rice with smoke sausage, sm bake potato with a little C Crock, a helping of Hominy. Supper: helping of spaghetti and stir fried veggies. Snack before bed time, one cup hot cocoa with Splinda.
 
Starving yourself can actually make weight loss difficult. The best thing to do is make sure you eat everything in moderation. Something I need to remind myself of haha.

Thanks Loch for sharing your experience (similar to mine) that happened from staying away from the scale. And I love your analogy to brushing your teeth in the morning!

I find that by weighing myself everyday I become subconsciously aware of which foods to eat, and which to avoid. And since I am mentally prepared, I don't have to struggle to eat right.

So let's keep weighing ourselves daily!
