Weight-Loss Water - Let Thirst be Your Guide!

Weight-Loss
Drinking lots of water....

I have tried drinking like 3 litres in a day but its hard.
It makes you so cold afterwards, you know in the summers it was the hottest day ever? (people in the UK) well on that day i drank 2 litres in one go and i was shivering, i had to put a fleece on and even then i was still freezing.
Anyone else get this?
Also these rediculous black out things are still happening, not quite as bad but still get them.

Sounds like somebody is looking for a good excuse to not to drink water.:) Well, to tell you the truth, I would not be able to drink cold water either, I never do. It is not good for your stomuch at all. I have bottled water at home with a special machine (water sistem), you attach bottle to it and it has two buttons "cold" and "hot". If you want hot water you press "hot" button, cold - "cold" button. I usually mix cold water with just a touch of hot water, for example, I drink out of this huge 16 oz. glass, so when I am putting my water in it, I put 15 oz. of cold water and 1 oz. of hot water. This way the water I am drinking has room temperature. Try it, water intake is very important for your eight loss, you should make it as pleasant as it is only possible:) .

How important is water intake in losing weight?

A friend told me to lose weight i should drink water all day long to help flush fat from the system-mabey a gallon a day. Is water that helpful in flushing fats? I confess Im more apt to drink Diet coke than a glass of water- Im a bit of a Diet Coke addict...

Water, water, everywhere...

Alright, so I know water is good for you - even great for you! It helps your skin, cleanses your body, and fills you up when you have unnecessary hunger. My only question is this: Why do my lips get so dry after drinking a lot of water? And it's not that I lick my lips all the time, or anything like that, it's just that they start to feel dry. Especially right before I go to bed. It's as if the more water I drink, the more dry they become!

Also, on a second note, I'm trying to find that formula you use to know how much water you should intake in a day. :D

theres a lot of different info out there - one formula i've seen says you should drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces - -another says 8 glasses is fine - another says - there's water in youor food, so 6 glasses is fine...

I go with the 1/2 yoour body weight - :D

What I was told by a doctor, and what i've seen consistently is you know you are drinking enough water by checking the color of your urine -if it's anything but pale yellow, you aren't drinking enough.

I've heard that to keep your body healthy you're supposed to drink eight 8 oz. glasses of water. (In other words, 64 oz.) I notice the more water I drink the more weight I lose, although I'm not sure that it's proven fact.

Water flushes out salt

Hi guys.. I've read a bit about this topic. Water does help you loose weight, yes. In the short term drinking water helps your body eliminate salt and other minerals or toxins. That in turn allows the body to STORE less water. Without sufficient water intake, the body decides that it needs to hang on to what it takes so it stores water, which makes you heavy. So by drinking sufficient water during the day, you will eliminate more water and the lbs on the scale drop. That's short term.

In the long term, drinking enough water still helps you loose weight/fat, but that's a less proven theroy. The theory I read is that by eliminating toxins, your body is freed to use more of your food energy on activity, so you dont feel lethargic, and you use move more, are more active. Also, if you dont know your body well enough, you can confuse thirst with hunger. So you imolicitly eat less. Even more, by eating foods high in water content like fruits and veggies, you will feel full faster, with less calories intake. it works for me, I eat only fruit in the monring (check out my food journal at ) according to this theory/diet called Fit for Life, and I manage to stay full and satisfied until lunch with roughly 300calories - and thats a lot of fruit I eat. Still, it;s yummy, and the high water content in them does wonders.

While it is important to drink water, there IS such a thing as water poisoning. Althogh life-threatening, it's very rare, and it can happen if you really force yourself to drink lots of water. Keep in mind that a lot of the water you get is from food, so you dont have to drink as much. A gallon sounds a bit much, but I've heard the 8 glasses of water a day (again, you wont actually drink all 8 glasses, because you get some of it from your food intake).
Well, hope this helps :)

Best Bottled Water?

I used to hate water but now that I've been off cokes (thats southern for any carbonated drink) I've started to love water and usually im on the go so I always take a bottled water with me and I couldn't believe it but you really can tell the difference in bottled water my favorite right now is SmartWater but old trusty is Deja Blue so I thought it would be fun if we all discussed which bottled water we liked best and why :)

Im right there with you! I LOVE SmartWater. I like that it is distilled & has elctrolytes & just plain taste clean.

I have found that I am not a fan of Spring or Mineral water because of the taste. I just feel like I am drinking something that came straight from a stream & frankly I understand how polluted out environment is & I don't want that gunk in my body.

I have also found that I like SmartWater's VitaminWater occassionally. There are several different types with various added nutritional stuff & taste. But nothing beats a nice bottle of distilled clean water.

I have become spoiled at work because we distill the water through a machine & find I no longer even like the tap water at home.

Water Snobs Unite!

My 10 y/o daughter was SHOCKED to find out people can drink water from the tap!

It just never occured to her LOL!

I typically have 2.5 gallons of Sparklette's Mtn Spring with the tap in the fridge, and then trader joe's bottles for on the go.

FIJI ... It is soooo crisp and fresh. I think it is an artisian water. Only a few convience stores carry it here, it comes in a 1 L bottle. SO GOOD!

However, It is kinda expensive, for water anyway. When I am at home I drink it out of the tap ;)
