Trying to get in better shape by mid December!

When you open your log, wake up and breathe, the many eyeballs looking at this log......mine is the absolute ugliest! See! He, he! :)

I read your Journal nearly every day. I have been a little busy lately with work, doing some things with the wife, setting up my new weight training/diet program, but I do take time to read the personal journals. I am getting goose bumps, just thinking about the sheer amount of work its going to take to gain about 10 pounds this upcoming year. But half the work is already completed. It is the personal journal (or personal novel, if you will), I have written on my "diet specifics", "weight training", and the "changes and adaption" I implemented during the this period: In other words, I have a personal history base to assist with my future goals. There is no guess work, I know what to do.

You keep this journal (and any personal journals your make), they will prove to be priceless friends that will not ever lie to you, and serve you well. And, most importantly: YOU KEEP AN EYE ON YOURSELF, and YOUR HEART.

========================================================

Creating a joint connection between head and heart puts a "power pack" behind your goals.

Getting your head in sync with your heart and grasping the power of coherence gives you the energy efficiency you need to achieve changes that haven't been possible before.

The head can notice what things need to change, but the heart provides the power and direction to actually bring about the changes.

You have this power, Red Panda.

===============================

Enthusiasm is:

A quiet spiritual strength.

An inner glow.

Faith in action: One of the Greatest assets one can possess.

Your strength and endurance comes from your inner beauty.

Don't ever allow your candle to be blown out:

You are the SCOUT and you remove any DOUBT, and I give you a SHOUT:

ROCK ON!!!

Thanks everyone, nice to know people are reading. Or, in Focus' case... um... creepily observing with the help of simplified diagrams?

Anyway. Yesterday:

Food: a small yogurt, a granola bar, a gourmet sandwich late in the afternoon to celebrate the passing of my stomach ache (ham, turkey, brie cheese, sliced green apple, and pomegranate spread on a deli roll), a salad, and a piece of terryaki beef.

Exercise: Weeeell, none really, I was running errands, and I was on the verge of throwing up until about noon.

Thankfully my doctor replied to me yesterday (hoorays!) with instructions to lower my medication dose to tolerable levels while he calls in a new medication to my pharmacy. This new one should hopefully have less violent side effects. Anyway, on the lower dose I'm feeling a little better already today, so I'm up early and I'm drinking my morning tea before heading off to yoga. If my stomach holds out I'll see what else I get done from there. Wish me luck!

Wah, I keep finding myself writing yesterdays entry because I forget to do it at night :p Oh well. Yesterday:

Food: Cereal mixed with strawberry yogurt, granola bar, ham and turkey sandwich, steamed veggies with the one leftover terryaki beef stick.

Exercise: Power yoga class in the morning, Curves circuit in the afternoon

Starting today is the start my big transition from the old meds (the ones making me sick and tingly and stuff) and the new meds (no idea what they'll do really). For the first week I will be on low doses of both, then next week I will go off the old ones and start a higher dose of the new ones. The hope is that this new anti-convulsant will have less negative side effects and I'll start feeling better pretty quickly.

In the mean time, this week I will probably be feeling outright icky. I've been finding that its things like cardio that get me feeling dizzy and sick, whereas yoga, limited weight training, things like that are ok so long as I listen to my bodies cues. So I guess thats what I'll be doing. Things like the stairstepper and running are mostly out (you'll see I haven't used them in ages) and I'll be focusing on the yoga, the weight stuff I do at home (using my Jackie Warner videos and such... don't make fun of me, they're fun :p If they get me to exercise they can't be that bad right?) maybe some Bosu to get in a little light Cardio. Of course walking is still on, or my dog will implode :p So thats the plan. Wish me luck!

How many calories a day do you eat?

I don't actually count the calories right now, I just kind of go with what seems "right" (eating until I'm not hungry more than eating until I'm full). Right now with my meds also I need to eat a little bit here and there to keep from getting dizzy.

If it helps though, last time I actually kept a strict food journal (strict meaning writing down the calories, carbs, protein, fiber, sodium, sugar, and fat in each and every item I ate... that was back in July I believe) I found I was eating an average of about 2200 (that was the average taken over a course of two weeks). My eating habits haven't changed too drastically since then so its safe to assume my average caloric intake hasn't changed too drastically either.

Today:

Food: Three scrambled eggs, one cup of yogurt mixed with one cup of cereal, Caesar salad, ham and turkey sandwich with apple slices for dinner (yum).

Exercise: Hour of walking, hour of yoga

Today:

Food: Two pieces of toast with Smart Spread and pomegranate jam, one cup of yogurt mixed with one cup of fiber one cereal, ham and turkey sandwich with sliced apples, one medium tilapia fillet with garlic butter.

Exercise: Power yoga in the morning, Curves circuit in the afternoon

It looks like I'm eating along but its really like... quick breakfast when I wake up, then the yogurt/cereal to keep me going or else I get dizzy/sick, the sandwich is just made on a little roll and eaten around 1 or 2 usually, then dinner happens around 7. So its spread out, and the portions are reasonable.

Monday doesn't count. It was a long weekend. Not that I binged on pizza or anything. In fact I walked 6 miles. I'm just too lazy to write about it :p

Yesterday:

Food: Two hard boiled eggs, half a cup of yogurt mixed with half a cup of cereal, small bowl of Caesar salad, and about a cup and a half of macaroni and cheese.

Exercise: Three mile walk.

Yesterday I felt uuuber sick so I didn't get a lot done. Today I feel better, I'm up early, and hopefully I'll get more exercise in. I'm on my way to power yoga in a little bit and maybe I'll hit the Curves circuit later or break out the Bosu. The new meds go fairly well, my hands have stopped tingling at least!

No, I haven't died yet :p But I was super super sick a couple of days ago. Dizzy and shaking and throwing up even though I hadn't eaten anything... the works. Anyway. The worst is past I think, and I'm feeling a lot more functional the past two days. On my good days I still do power yoga at least twice a week, regular yoga about three times a week, my three mile walks every day, and the Curves circuit about 3 times a week. I'm down to 153 pounds (woot) but I'm not really focused on the weight loss for the moment, just trying to get functional again haha. Hopefully that will happen quickly now that the med change over is done and now I just have to survive the up-dosing!

Yesterday and today were better days, less nausea and such. Of course tonight I have to up my med dose, so we'll see how long the happiness lasts haha. Wish me luck with that! I've been eating light, did my yoga and Curves today, and hopefully will be more active as I adjust to the meds. Yay!

Well its my birthday. Wooo. I did power yoga and went to Curves, had a light breakfast and lunch, and now my dad is taking me out for a birthday dinner. But calories don't count today! :D Well. Not as much. Haha. Don't worry, I won't overdo it too much, my tummy is still delicate :p Anyway, yeah, thats whats up. :)

Happy Birthday, Red Panda!

How young are ya!

Have a good time with your father!

I'm 22 years young. Old enough to drink and buy porn, but not old enough to rent a car :p Haha. Thanks everyone!

LOL! Also old enough to: ROCK-OUT with absolute confidence in all of your natural abilities and bring yourself home to your goal, and to stand on your personal podium, PROUD! There is no greater feeling! BRING IT!

Have a great time with your Dad.

22.......geesh......you're a baby.....LOL :)

Best wishes

So today I had some yogurt, some pumpkin mashed potatoes with broccolini and red onion (soooo good), a ham and brie sandwich with apple slices, and um... wow did I eat dinner? I forget. I... may not have... yet... actually. Hm. Anyway. Oh and some chocolates! My fiance had flowers, balloons, and chocolate sent to me :D How he got that phone call out from basic training I'm not sure. Sneaky sneaky. Haha. Delicious chocolates!

Exercise today: Did my power yoga (I'm getting noticeably more flexible already!), the Curves circuit, and an hour of walking with my dog.

I'm officially fitting back into my size 10 stretch jeans, and when I went to the Gap I had to size down to an 8 in their relaxed fit trousers! It was one of those zen shopping moments... ladies you know what I mean :) Anyway, despite being sick and all, I've continued to watch my eating, and I've kept up the walking and the yoga so even on my worst days I'm determined not to be totally sedentary.

The results are looking... quite nice. Especially in the bikini I dared to try on! I'll probably put up one more progress picture before I leave for Missouri on Wednesday to go see my fiance graduate! It will be the first time he's seen me since the beginning of August (as we recall I weighed 168 pounds... that's the last he saw of me). I think he'll be pleasantly surprised :D
