Toning Up

Today, I had nonsense---stayed within the caloric guidelines, but probably got like 10g of protein .

C'mon, eat some chicken, turkey, tuna...something!

Hey, I bought some chicken marinade, meatless jerky and sirloin burgers today! :) It's just that I work weird hours so often I get home and just want to eat, not wait to cook.

I had a "wow" moment early this morning that may somewhat satisfy tony. I randomly went out for an early breakfast with my boyfriend at this little diner and got their "light" combo of a scrambled egg, bacon, and a pancake. And on my drive home later that morning I realized that I ordered and ate without mentally addiding up the calories and freaking out! I just enjoyed eating and the guilt didn't set in for like 2 hrs:D ! Normally, I hate eating out b/c of the excess calories that typically go along with it, and feel guilty about eating. Not to mention I calculate the calories of what I've eaten zillions of times a day--at work, during class, when falling asleep, on the treadmill, etc, etc. So it was a nice, if short-lived, departure from my norm. This evening, I admit that I had 1/3 of a coconut donut....BUT I've been searching grocery stores and donut shops for one for honestly four years! They're my favorite, though I'm not much of a donut/danish/bagel/muffin person.

Just going to hit the hay today...will have lots of time to exercise tomorrow since I work earlier (to the tune of starting at 5am! up at 4!). Normally I like to work early, but it's tough when I've been working long and later shifts the past few days. II don't see anyone's boss working until 10:45pm and then being back at work at 5am! Oh well, that's life.

Unfortunately, I spent most of Sunday at work/ working on my painting project. Finally made those blueberry pancakes...the blueberries had circumferences of nickels! However, I monitored my portion size by measuring out a 1/2 cup of both blueberries and the pancake batter. Used the shake & pour kind because it had fewer calories than a from-scratch recipe I had.

Exercise-wise, I did an hour Gilad workout, I felt that I have improved my stamina on the exercises and can use heavier weights for longer than before :) .

Glad you took time out of the norm. You need to do that now and then. Defintely going have to look into the tapes you are doing. The pancakes sounded so good..it's making me hungry sitting here. The oatmeal isn't cutting it. I might have to come over when you make them.:D

Don't worry, She! I'm planning on using up the rest of the batter in a day or so! Going to stock up on the gargantuan berries.

Anyways, I don't know my exact protein count yesterday, but it was very high! :D I ate reduced sugar oatmeal w/H20, .19oz sirloin steak burger on a bun, serving pretzels, meatless jerky, string cheese, orange, slice ham. It makes me feel like a super muscle man!

I ran for an hour and fifteen minutes, did a long stretching session, and played a little tennis for an hour or so. However, played with a novice so didn't work up much of a sweat. Was a good time regardless. Didn't get to Gilad today because spent most of my time trying to order this textbook online cheap, but needed asap shipping. Ugh. shipping and handling should be free!

Oh, and for She:I tape the Total Body Sculpt Plus tv show on fit tv because I'm cheap. They're hour-long head-to-toe + cardio workouts. Gilad Janklowicz also has a "quick fit" video series and sells individual videos through places like amazon.com and stuff. The first few months that I started using them (a few years back), I really noticed an increase in muscle tone.

Oh no !!

I read that you felt like a 'super muscle man!' AHAHAHAAAHA!

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU feel like a MAN !!! LOL !!

*points finger at college girl*

MAN-GIRL! MAN-GIRL !!

.........of course , I'm kidding lol , but it was funny....

so anyway, your whole menu is quite sporadic and fun ! I like your choice in food ;)

Blueberry pancakes!?!..........Like...YUM.

that sounds SOOO good right now.

I have like..the same crap every day...I'm getting a little bored of the breakfast part tho. I need new ideas?!!

So anyway, Gilad he is a fast-paced crazy , freakin hyper active turbo aerobic dude ! I like him ! Props to you on being able to keep up with him...much less to actually like doing it!

...did I say he is crazy? I meant normal..

Okay well talk to ya later ! :)

Yeah, Gilad is kind of like a robot man. His accent makes me chuckle.

Today, I went on a picnic with my boyfriend, and we were going to hike, but it was extremely humid. But, we did have some riveting tennis action for a spell. I also ran for 1 hr 20min today, and an hour of Gilad.

I made these chicken parm sandwiches for lunch with some grilled marinated chicken cutlets, a mysterious jar of pizza sauce that's been in my cupboard for an obscene amount of time, and half of a piece of string cheese. Granted, the bun probably wasn't so healthy, but I always trin down the bun for the proper bread to sandwich filling ratio, which cuts down on the cals, too. However, they turned out better than I thought.

So, my complete menu for the day consisted of : 6oz fruit on the bottom yogurt, 8oz nonfat yogurt, 1.5 oz mozzarella cheese, 1c honeydew/blueberries/strawberries, serving pretzels, 1.5 breadsticks, 2.5oz grilled marinated chicken breast on a bun, spoonful ice cream.

I would have eaten the rest of the honeydew tomorrow, but it was like japanese beetle mating season at the park, and a couple got into the remains. My god, the swarms of them made me feel like it was the attack of the locusts:eek: , I wish I had a pic of it!

I would have loved to seen that, but I'm glad you and your boyfriend had a good time. Will have to try the chicken parm sandwiches. They sound good.

My legs were really sore today for some odd reason...they haven't been sore post-running since like March! So, I was going to take a day off of running today and do 1/2 hr HIIT on the exercise bike and a new series of ab & arm exercises. Do you think the day off will hurt me?

heck no. relax,enjoy. GUILT FREE
Well, I'll be relaxing a little more than I thought...calling off the HIIT, I have a bug bite on the side of my foot that has swelled to the size of A QUARTER! It's not mosquito-induced....bizarre bugs were flying around that picnic spot besides the beetles. I knew I shouldn't have ventured in the woods without my Off!:p

Hi!

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that your diary has been inspirational to me. I just stumbled upon it and I can really relate to alot of the stuff you're working through. Just wanted to say hi now that I joined up and say keep up the effort and I know you will reach your goals.

ps. You total taught me the way of Gilad, so I am eternally grateful!

Thank you so much! Rather, "Thank you for trusting me with your body" (in a husky israeli accent). It's great to know a fellow Gilad lover!

Today, I felt like I was just spinning my wheels---and I got thrown off further by being called in to work. However, I felt like I cooked a lot--breakfast and dinner from scratch! I would love being like a 50's housewife and cook every meal from scratch; unfortunately, I live in the real world. Anyway, I ate a serving of Cooking Light basil-potato frittata, reduced sugar oatmeal w/ H20, 3/4 coconut donut (went to my mom's...just sitting on the counter, begging me to put it out of its flaky misery), 2.5 oz chicken breast w/ cream o' chicken soup sauce, 1/3 c steamed carrots, small red potato.

I only ran for an hour today, then had to go to class, and then work (which was when I planned my weights! ugh!. And I don't want to do weights and HIIT now, because then I'll be too revved up to sleep, and throw off tomorrow's plan. If only time didn't exist.

Oh!! This isn't really fitness-related, but may be intriguing to some. And I forced myself to go to super wal*mart (I resent that store, but there's no way to escape it in my lil' town). I was looking for foundation, and you know how it's a hassle to buy it when you're tan in the summer, and then need a new color by October when you're pale? I bought this color changing liquid foudation (I believe by Almay) that is white in the tube and changes color on your skin! My sister, mom, and I were amazed. Anyways, good night all!:)

Well, I've been caught up in a whirlwind of family and school stuff, but never fear, I haven't been slacking!:)
