Toning Up

Yes, I got a pm on how to actually post them (not in my foolish word document attempt :p ), so when I add my current pictures tomorrow morning, I'll try to fix those, as well.

Well, last night was that pseudo-date with that young man who won't take no for an answer. For some reason, my memory failed me, and I couldn't recall his name (I usually have a really good memory)...so the whole thing was like that Seinfeld episode. But, he didn't realize I didn't know his name. Furthermore, my boyfriend and I are completely baffled that he is continuing to invite me on dates that I'm respectfully declining (date-like, not friend-like activities). But whatever with that.

So, yesterday I attempted to run but developed this large, hard blister-like bump on my one shin that got numb at the cyst and then pain radiated through my calve. So, I had to cut my running at 16min. Though I was freaked out, an assistant running coach said that it was nothing to worry about and it was only a blood vessel  . I thought, WTF? Why all of a sudden. It happened again today, but I ran for an hour anyways. Did an hour tape of Gilad yesterday and today, too.

I'm currently working on a modified coffee cake recipe that I changed from one I made a few weeks ago...I calculated that 1/12 of an 8" * 4" loaf is 124 calories, undisclosed amount of fat. I'll test-drive that tomorrow.

Today, I ate oz light ‘n’ fit yogurt, 6oz fat free yogurt, 1/3c chex mix, orange, 6oz fruit on the bottom yogurt, 2.5oz grilled marinated chicken breast, corn on the cob w/light butter, blueberries & strawberries. About 43g of protein today! :)

Sounds good on the food. It's coming along. Changing eating habits is hard.Sorry about the pain you had. Strange about the boy who invites you on dates. He's persistant, he must like you. Let us know how the coffee cake turned out.

Yes, perhaps the nameless young lad does like me alot, but you'd think he'd back off knowing that I have a long-term boyfriend that I live with.

But anyways, I think I found success with that coffee cake! Had a piece or so, and then I froze the rest because I can't resist the temptation of having it sit out on the countertop. I only got about 25-30g of protein today because my grilled chicken breast plans were sabotaged at lunch by lack of propane and at dinner by rain :( . And it was all set and ready to go in a marinade that I tweaked! Does anyone have suggestions for a 100 cal or so (preferably less) snack that has a fair amount of protein and doesn't need to be refrigerated? The art class I'm taking now runs long and late into the evenings, and I'm starving and want an easy snack...and it will likely be left in the car from time to time in the afternoon.

I ran for an hour and 25 minutes today (should have went for the extra 5 minutes to make it even), 30 minutes intervals on the exercise bike, and an hour tape of Gilad. The gym was particularly deserted today but not as stuffy as usual  .

I watched "The Secret Life of...Pancakes" on the food channel today, and I had already been dreaming of pancakes with fresh blueberries now that it's blueberry season...now I'm absolutely salivating! :p Maybe I'll give in in a few days when my day's food plan allows for it.

Going on an overnight camping trip with my boyfriend tomorrow night/day, so Friday exercise may be tricky, along with good food choices, but I'll do my best! :D It's only like 24 hrs!

I'm annoyed that my gym will be closed until Wednesday for the 4th of July weekend...do you think I'll be okay doing 1 hr intervals on the exercise bike + an hour of Gilad each day? I just feel so lazy when I can't go to the gym!:(

 thats more than enough

Last nigh, my camping fair consisted of: 1/2 calzone (with some pepperoni and ricotta cheese, not much of either), dipped in marinara, some gummies, some pizza flavored wannabe pringles, some tangerine gatorade. It was killing me not to be able to measure out portions!

Today, I had nonsense---stayed within the caloric guidelines, but probably got like 10g of protein  . Oh well, I was still feeling a little crazy from camp. Now I've gotten that out of my system.

Did Gilad and the exercise bike intervals. I have a random work schedule this weekend that will make my diet a little more difficult :( , but I'll pull through! Going out to dinner tomorrow night, but determined to order a salad with lite dressing and no fatty extras!

I gave into a cupcake in my art class yesterday  because the b-day girl went out of her way to carry the exact amount of cupcakes on her bike from work for us, so I didn't want to deal with the ridicule of not taking one since I already feel like I'm the odd man out in that 6-person class because I can't partake in their convos about zillions of artsy films. Did avoid sugar drinks and fruity candy (my guilty pleasure), though. I know Jaymie always has trouble with this...but it's already like I'm a weirdo to that class & professor!

Glad to hear that you're back to eating normal. Your cheat day sounded good, so did the cupcake. Off to see your pics.

nice pics! Hey try nuts. they're easily 100 cals for very few of them, full of healthy fat and a fair amt of protein. specifically almonds.

I'm laughing at your pseudo-date situation because a similar thing happened to me once. Only I didn't just forget his name. I was calling him by the WRONG name half the night. hahaha. When I got home my roommate said "so how was your time with ***?" Imagine the horror :O That guy actually finally submitted to the fact that i had a long term/long distance relationship but ended up being a really great friend I did a lot of sporty things with while I was in college like mountain biking and rock climbing. he was a die hard.

Hey Sparrow, I'm hoping this guy will submit to just being my running buddy! Time will tell.

Today, I went out for dinner prior to a bonfire get-together, so I ate light in the beginning of the day. I had reduced sugar oatmeal w/H20, little orange, 8oz nonfat yogurt, Applebee's half size chicken caeser salad, part of the accompanying garlic bread, a little bit of cranberry-grape juice, some pretzels.

My workout plans were ruined today because I had to stay late at work :( , and then had to go directly to the dinner and then to the party. I'd exercise now, but it's already Sunday anyways, and I'll get a chance to work out after work today. Looking forward to the predictability of non- out eats or camping food.:)

Boy, was my computer weird yesterday when I was trying to write a response!

Anyways, I ate some nonsense yesterday which probably invluded like 18g of protein :( , but lots of fruit! I didn't eat as much as usual, because my stomach's been kind of weird. On the 4th I had like no appetite, which is really bizarre for me, and on Tues & Weds. I got horrible stomach aches after eating. Weord.

So, due to my achey breaky stomach, I had to cut my running to 20 minutes to avoid soiling the treadmill with my stomach contents (sorry if you're eating as you read this). Later, I did an hour of Gilad and played tennis for an hour and a half. But--that was with the women's league (where everyone's 45 years old +), and the particular trio I was playing with didn't keep me darting across the court. Nonetheless, I was in a good mood after I played :) .

Well, it seems like from when my gym was closed, I'd been taking a lazily-induced break, but I swear I'm on track today! It's sunny, and I'm pumped :D !
