Cohen's Lifestyle Tips for a Cohen Newbie...

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Caz-- You are so organised & focussed. I admire what you are doing & what you have done so far. You have balanced a social life, vacations, exercise & many other distractions with Cohen's & have come out strong & determined & very positive. Good for you! Cheers, cate. (I might wait for you. Keep me posted please.)

Hi Caz, yes, Cate is right. You are so determined and planned! I will have to visit and re-visit your diary often to catch up on your tips...and see how your journey can help me stay more focused on the programme. It is reading success stories like yours that keep me going on this programme 100%...truly 100% for 5 weeks so far; don't know if I can last it out though.

Cate -

You may not want to weight, as I had an unmeasured dinner again today, my scale battery gave out... doh.

I am sure I was close, but I used new veggies tonight making the stir fry at home....

I am 4 days behind you now.

How many days of re-feed do you have?

If not I will be just a few days behind, but I will keep you posted... :)

Hi Caz- My refeed is 19 days. I might start next Wednesday. I'll see how I feel on the day. Cruising at the moment, xo Cate

Ok yeah I will not be good by then, I still hve 2 lbs to go too so I won't be ble to start until maybe Saturday... You'll just be a few days ahead.. I will watch you closely :)

Bog..

I am not doing well and have deviated my way up 5lbs rather than losing the last 2... sucks to be me.

Just a string of thing setting me off.

I never had food issues before this diet and it seems that I do know which really bother me.

My firends says its beacuse I don't have any other distractions right now except for food.

I am not 100% today because I was buys and skipped breakfast... so I am just going to make good choices the rest of the day and start again tomorrow.

I know that I just need to be 100% one day and I will be back on.

I am just an emotional wreck right now and not even sure why. For some reason ever since starting the diet I am WAY more effected by the TOM and it is about to start, so I will just blame the emotional outbursts on that.

I need to just get done. I really can see the 5lbs I put on and don't like it.

So that is a good thing, as I actually feel like I DO need to get skinnier. Not that I didn't think that, but I was feeling a little too thin... now I agree I need to be that thin. Maybe even a few lbs more so I have a little wiggle room.

UGH.....

Hi Caz- Sorry to hear you're struggling a bit. I didn't think I had food issues before Cohen's either, but I think that was part of the problem. I didn't think about what or when I ate. I just ate whatever, without thinking much at all. That was the problem. I think any mistakes we make along the way are part of the learning process & whilst you may feel bad at the minute you are learning more about yourself. I love the 'wiggle room' expression. I know just what you mean. When you do get down to almost GW or at GW a kg or 2 makes a huge difference. You can see it & feel it & you know you just have to get rid of it. You'll get there sweets & you'll be all the wiser for the rocky journey, xo Cate

So... Cate you're gone for a few days so I look to your return...

I went to Vegas was 100% then went to a wedding the week later and have not been on the diet since...

I'm up 8lbs and hovering. I can't seem to get back on diet and I just need to. Its tought right now and I think my birthday and work and then a lot of other stuff is going in.

Luckily, I am holding at this weight for a week, but I need to start again.

Hi ya

God it feels like i have been away for a lifetime...

Well we shall look to the sky.. positive all the way.. I shant deviate until i have reached the end of refeed... This has been way way to hard...

How are you..? I have a lot of reading to catch up on..

I am not sure about the weight gain but am seeing it in my clothes... I am a little scared to weigh myself... My clinic said all is fine and just to hop on the horse and ride it home... so that is what i am doing... i have even resorted to putting alarms in the phone to remind me to keep on track... I was actually having nightmares i felt so bad about being off the program...

Is that sad? ... ha ha ha ha..

anyway i better go and refresh my goals...

Be good, be strong and be kind..

Hgh ???

Hello everyone

I'm seriously considering the Cohen diet. My mum has done it successfully years ago. Can anyone please explain what the HGH is? Thanks, Bev

Hi Bev- This link from the Aust Cohen's Lifestyle web-site should explain it for you,

Basically getting a good night's sleep is the healthiest way to get a good dose of it, cheers, Cate.

I am wondering.....does having a good 2-3 hours of nap get a good dose of it too?

Would be interesting to look up a few medical studies and find out. I was of the understanding that the effectiveness relates mainly to time since eating protein. Maximum effectiveness 4 hours after eating, continues for a good while after that.

However, time to do some more reading!!
