Tim's Diary

omg.. i have noticed.. when i eat soy nuts in the afternoon, ill become bloated as **** like a god damn balloon.. lol.. so i stoped eating them ;D

maybe its that tim?

Oh dude the yesterday I was all bloated from...I don't even know what. I was all contorted when I fell asleep on my desk, and for the next several hours, I was trying to fart, piss, and burp it out. It was very strange. It's like I had to fart, but I couldn't.

Naa soy actually stops me getting bloated. Cause im lactose intolerent, when i have cows milk i bloat and feel uncomfrotable in my stomach for a while, but when drinking soy milk im fine :D

Hey i just discovered, drinking ice cold water burns calories because your body has to use calories to heat up your body. And, there's negative calorie foods, like some vegies and fruits.

The bad thing about ALOT of fibre is that you get real bloated and feel like crap the whole day. I discovered this when i ate like 70g of some high fibre cereal this morning..awww i felt like ****!

Ive just noticed, I now have a HUGE apetite, probablly because im a teen and have gotten to that stage, but i can eat loads and loads of HEALTHY food and be bloated all day, but not gain weight, but if i eat unhealthy food, ill gain weight fast...Oh well, at least i can eat all the oats for breakfast i want..yummm and ill add in some muslie flakes, their nice :) Maybe even some sultana bran too, thats goood

So really now i dont have a diet plan, i just eat ONLY healthy foods, and stay right away from unhealthy foods. Except for stuff like my birthday and easter where im just gonna pig out!

Hmm, the only thing mum puts in the spag bowl thats really i guess unhealthy is red wine, but even thats relativley healthy. But anyway, i had another pig out, 3 FRECKIN BOWLS of pure spag bowl sauce. I am soo stuffed, but bloody hell it's good. It's now my fav food :D

We use extra lean ground beef heart smart ;). I need the beef anyway, gives me iron! But eating that much of anything can't be good :( lol. Oh well, im just gonna have to suffer the conciquences and work it off!

I like skipping, and im gonna do that abit more now. I really hate jogging, so i guess thats a better option.

Just keeping those who read informed, and myself disiplined but letting the world know.

This is controversial. There was a thread on here covering this topic. It was shot down for some reasons I cant remember.

I'm just guessing but I'm sure it doesn't burn very many calories, probally why it was shot down. By the way Tim talking about negative calorie foods...I like to eat those big pickles you know, if its late at night and I get a little hungry. They have zero calories...but I usually put a little peanut butter on it mmmm

mmmm, yummy....I'm having it again for lunch tomorrow! :D

The only thing i dont liek about negative calorie foods is that they make you hungry! You eat em and are like cool, im staisfied, 20 minutes later the 'negetive' part takes place and its like you havent eaten for hours!

Na i heard that drinking 1.5 gallons of ice cold water a day burns an extra 184 calories, i guess not much if you really look at it, but thats as good as a jog or something. But you know, you can't be sure on that.

Hmm, i also read that having a glass of water with a bit of fresh lemon juice squeezed into it speeds up your metabolism for the day...same with green tea

The colder the water you drink, the better. Your body has to heat it up more, therefore burning more calories. Just think of those calories as 'free' calories. After all, it doesn't take much effort to drink a few glasses of water ;)

According to this months Mens Health, negative calorie foods are a myth unfortunately.

I duno, i beg to differ...

If you think about it, it really does make sense. Some foods just have so little calories that the body uses more calories digesting them than what you just took in. Soo, celery, it would take more energy to break down those hard stringy bits than what you just ate.

As quoted from SXiPro:
Does drinking ice water help you lose weight? For anyone trying to lose weight, this question is an exciting one! If you simply want to know if your body burns calories warming up the water, the answer is yes. But if you want to know if drinking a lot of ice water can help you lose weight, or keep weight off, this "yes" needs to be qualified with some calculations.
First of all, calories are case-sensitive. There are calories and then there are Calories. Calories with a big "c" are the ones used to describe the amount of energy contained in foods. A calorie with a little "c" is defined as the amount of energy it takes to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius. What most people think of as a Calorie is actually a kilo-calorie: It takes one Calorie to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water 1 degree Celsius. So when you drink a 140-Calorie can of cola, you are ingesting 140,000 calories. There is no cause for alarm, because the conversion applies across the board. When you burn 100 Calories jogging a mile, you are burning 100,000 calories.

So, considering that the definition of a calorie is based on raising the temperature of water, it is safe to say that your body burns calories when it has to raise the temperature of ice water to your body temperature. And unless your urine is coming out ice cold, your body must be raising the temperature of the water. So calories are being burned.

Let's figure out exactly what you're burning when you drink a 16-ounce (0.5 liter) glass of ice water:

The temperature of ice water can be estimated at zero degrees Celsius.
Body temperature can be estimated at 37 degrees Celsius.
It takes 1 calorie to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius.
There are 473.18 grams in 16 fluid ounces of water.
So in the case of a 16-ounce glass of ice water, your body must raise the temperature of 473.18 grams of water from zero to 37 degrees C. In doing so, your body burns 17,508 calories. But that's calories with a little "c." Your body only burns 17.5 Calories, and in the grand scheme of a 2,000-Calorie diet, that 17.5 isn't very significant.
But let's say you adhere to the "eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day" nutritional recommendation. In 64 ounces of water, there are 1,892.72 grams. So to warm up all that water in the course of a day, your body burns 70,030 calories, or 70 Calories. And over time, that 70 Calories a day adds up. So, while you definitely shouldn't depend on ice water consumption to replace exercise or a healthy diet, drinking cold water instead of warm water does, in fact, burn some extra Calories!

Hope that helps you some. The only debate against it was that it may be hard for some peoples digestion. So if you get cramps or stomache issues it may be related to the cold water. I drink ice water all day long, with no issues.

Nice Post^^And about the negative calorie foods....I dont understand how it can be a myth...if a food has no calories. What did the article say?

Those negative foods DO contain calories! Its just that it takes more calories (energy) to burn the fods and absorb the nutrients. An example of this is cellery.

Eeeeexactly
