Thoughts on men wearing spandex / lycra running tights

I had a BF who wore those, and he looked fine in them. Although his junk was huge and he did attract quite a bit of attention.

There are always exceptions. :D But mainly I see more of the type of body that warrants more rather than less coverage at the public pool. Heh.

I'm just bummed that one guy's pics from a couple weeks ago are gone. I should have saved them :( I didn't feel quite as akward staring on here than in the gym.

i like the full body speedos the best

Oh lala. Anyone wearing a speedo should look good nekkid. That's my rule of thumb and those people in those photos fit the bill.

Full-body suit?....seems like a bit much.

I prefer wearing my triathlon suit when I swim (short legs, open-top)....it holds my heart-rate monitor chest-strap in place (whereas it would otherwise be blasted down my chest with each kick off the wall) and I can slip my underwater ipod case in the rear pocket, otherwise I'd have to wear an uncomfortable arm-strap or waist strap....but more then anything, I just like the way the suit slides through the water. Jammers or shorts tend to cut-in at the waist, whereas the one-piece outfit is just too darn comfortable.

Actually, I wear it in spin-class and then go swimming....afterwards I rinse it in the shower and I leave the gym with a clean outfit. Everyone else goes home with sweaty shorts & top

I'd like to say I don't care what other people think....but I'd be lying. I've gotten enough positive feedback that I've become addicted to the feeling of feeling a bit attractive. I continue to diet, work weights and get leaner just so I can look even better! :violent: I have it on good authority that the woman at my kids school have a HILF list (Husbands I'd Like to F@%K) and I'm shooting to be in the top 5 :D

Ya know...really, it all comes down to be tasteful and making sure you look right. In the pool, on the bike, jogging on a cold morning...these various garments have their place and if they fit properly, it's no biggy. If a guy is overweight and flabby, he'll look ridiculous....but should it come as a surprise that the same rule applies to men as it does to woman? :)

I love men in spandex too

Blackbeard, you might be laughing, but I'd be trying to get them to go out with me ;)

Non-spandex men don't exist in my world :D j/k

Although there are men who look good in anything ...

Hi i'm new to this blog. After following through the numerous comments on this blog I was so amused that guys running or jogging in tights are not a big deal in your country. I can't help myself but to add some opinions of mine on this issue.
I live in a multi racial & conservative county and guys here don't jog on streets wearing tights. My first experience was over a year ago where I saw a guy wearing a full body suit jogging on the access road leading to my residential area nearly every evening. At first look, I didn't know what to think but felt excited at the same time. Because that was the first time I came across a guy in body suits on a public road. I started to slow down every time I passed him to get a better glimpse of his body. And hey!! What do you know? He looks great in black and sometimes navy blue body suits and he still do.

Just to be clear about something. When I hear the word "tights" I can't help but think about what I see the girls wearing when you go by a ballet studio or see some old video from the 80's when woman paired leotards with tights. These "tights" are little more then colored pantyhose...they're shear, semi-transparent and NOT what men wear while jogging, riding or exercising.

Just to be clear....the stuff men are wearing is much different then a thin layer of "hose"....the material is generally thicker, offers muscle compression, warmth and performance qualities.

Just a few days ago I went for a solid ride on the bike...the weather was a bit chilly. Choosing the right 'gear' is always a bit tricky because you get warm riding, but the air can be cold....so it's a mixed-bag of climates. I went with some bib-knickers, which is basically just a regular cycling bib with 3/4-length "capri" length on the legs. It feels like it's lined with fleece..a really nice thin layer of material. It was perfect...solid compression, warmth, breathability and mysteriously unimpeding in movement.

After the ride my wife called to say she was having lunch with a friend RIGHT NOW and come if I wanted. It was sushi, can't pass that up. The odd thing was that my wife's (very attractive) friend was wearing her black spandex capri-length gym 'pants' and we both kinda looked like twins. Not a big deal. On the way out, in the parking lot, she even commented on it and said she wished her husband would wear the same thing...but then said he didn't ride and didn't have the legs to pull it off. LOL.

Again....most woman really don't care or notice but there are definitely a solid percentage who seem to have an appreciation for it.

You are right. The guy that I met was actually wearing lycra body suit complete with black gloves and cap. It's shiny and smooth to feel. I'm afraid I'm one of those in the solid percentage who appreciates guys in tight body suits.

i had a lycra body suit but it was badly made an fell apart so now i wear lycra tight and lycra shirt when i go for a ride

the other day me girl friend got a pair Grey Capri length tight for herself but they didn't fit her so she gave them to me to wear i think she likes me in tights and i think she got them for me in the first place they fit perfectly i'm not used to the Capri length my tights are the full length

don't you love it when they do that ;-)
I tend to wear unpadded stuff now, but it is covered by a top

All lycra running tights are unpadded. Aren't they? Running with an underwear on or padding is not so comfortable, as I was told. And that defeat the purpose of wearing lycra running suits in the first place. I know because I have been jogging with the guy after getting to know him for a few months now.

For the most part, lycra tights are not padded.

No...just no.

Correction: Yes ... just yes ;)

i pick up a men sports g-string some where to wear under my tight they keep every thing in place and it looks like I'm not wearing underwear under my tights and they really comfortable to wear

Yeah, I agree with you ILM. That's why my running mate looks great all the time. He has a crotch support underneath only and he doesn't cover up with a T-shirt. He wears long sleeve lycra top with black gloves. It has been a great motivation to jog along side him. But I could sense a lot of starring eyes whenever cars drove passed us. He wouldn't bother at all.
