The time has come

Well, here we go people. I need to start a journal because I need to fix my body...again.

At one point I was 160lbs and 10% bodyfat...having been a little chunky my whole life due to inactivity (video games) and typical poor eating habits.

Well I let video games take hold, again, and other stupid things in life...and now I"m at 200lbs and 26.6% bodyfat.

That's right folks, Malkore let himself slide by not following his own advice (mostly by being too damned lazy).

So, thus begins my journey. Fitday journal is in my sig so you can see what I'm up to.
Most of all, feel free to hold me accountable. If I miss a workout, ask me why!?

This last week of July is 'warmup the muscles and get kinks worked out' so that come August I'll be going full steam. The goal is to drop 25 pounds by November 1st. I'll still be overweight, but I have to start somewhere.

The biggest hurdle is going to be NOT playing Final Fantasy XI. It is an addiction...I don't want to sit at a computer game for 6 hours...but I do it anyways. So I'm weening myself off of that.

Hopefully all the forthcoming comments from members will keep me motivated like I used to be, and hopefully that in-turn will inspire others to stay on course.

Good luck with your new goal Malkore,

What sort out lifting/cardio routine have you got planned?

you need to find something else to do with your free time than play video games. Something productive. What intrests you except video games? What I do is I read.. Since I got interested in training I pretty much read if I've got nothing else to do.

VERY NICE!

I am about ready to pick a plan for me too Malkore. What routine, or plan, are you thinking of following?

and- a good fist step to shock your body is this Friday's Challenge, when we post it on Thursday. It will be pullups and pushups.

VERY NICE! I'd rep ya, but I just did.

Sweat Daily

I am probably going to follow Chad Waterbury's Total Body Training (a 3x a week full body routine that focuses on the big compound 'get HUGE' lifts) as I've had good success with it in the past when I was 'on the wagon'.

I plan to do plenty of cardio, and a variety of cardio. cycling, running/jogging, eliptical/ski machine. my gym no longer offers group classes of cardio/spin/etc.

when we move, I'll have a better workout area and plan to get a stationary bike to further eliminate excuses (its too cold/snowy to drive to the gym, etc).

One of my other favorite activities is making beer, mead and wine. obviously I have to cut back on this since I'll be limiting alcohol consumption pretty rigidly until I meet my goal...and even then I won't be binge drinking.

Why I oughtta....(if were possible).....reach through the monitor and thump ya big ass! :action9:

"Success comes from good judgment, good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment."

Nothing is impossible if you look at the broken pieces correctly. If you look at the broken pieces as failure you already have. If you look at those broken pieces as an opportunity to create something from a puzzle, you have already won. This can be applied to life, applied between friends, and to training and diet.----Chillen

You just had a short period of: PMS, my dear friend:

  • Perpetual Munching Spree

Get with it, or I be busten' dat ass for weeks on end.

  • Puffy Mid-Section

When you stray the fat will spray.

  • Pissy Mood Syndrome

You already explained this in a different thread, you are momentarily excused.

This is not only applicable to woman, men can get it too--obviously.

Get a branding iron in the ready position. Okay, hold it........okay...okay, a little higher....yea that's it....yea, that's right........Now smack your head with this:

To get what I am after;

I must be the master.

I am not afraid of disaster;

I am the master drafter hereafter.

got that?

THanks Lee. I'll be using that same diet you designed for me a few years ago...it worked great while I was on it. Carb cycling like that really worked great for me.

Chillen...for sure a lot of my pent up stress and anger stems from the spare tire I'm carrying around.

Hey Dude!

Good to see I'm not the only one starting again taking some accountability! :D

You'll get it done before ya know it!

Now turn off the computer and git to it! lol :)

Cheers!

Where is your workout update for today......:angry3:

Yes impatient.

Raise your hand up.

A little higher.

A little higher.

Higher!.....uh,...right there that is good.

Clench your fist where the knuckles are facing away from you.

Stick out your index finger..........twist your same hand about 180 degrees.

Shift your eyes down to look at the tip of the index finger that should be facing you (and your eyes should be cross eyed).

Hold it there.....hold it........um......not yet.........stay..............stay

Repeat after me:

The blame GAME will always be the one and the SAME.

Its in your first and last NAME.

It can set you AFLAME or give you a sense of SHAME.

Only YOU can create your personal hall of FAME.

Post it up! NOW!

:D

Peace.......

I did get in a short lower body workout lastnight. My hams feel it this morning...the quads...not so much.

I also dined out after we left the tattoo shop, but I stayed within my caloric restriction.

Tonight is some cardio, and luckily we finalize the paperwork this afternoon to get the house officially listed for sale!

Hmmm...Cardio tonight, I better make sure my Zune is charged!

And, what might the details be? Exercises, sets, reps, mister! :)

Where did you go? What is your calorie restriction, mister? Are you working with macro allotments as well? What are these....spill it.........

What is the term: "some cardio" mean? Heck, I get cardio in when doen' momma, but it doesn't count.....so......definition, please.

Okay, I don't know if the Cardio is good or not......this doesn't tell me a f-n thing.

I get cardio in running my mouth at work, seems it doesn't do much.....for my fitness.

You asked for the whip, young fella......

Your half-assen' dis shiaaaaat.....:(

Well, first the bad news: I didn't do my cardio yesterday.

But the reason was not some stupid computer game! The wife and I went looking at houses (from the outside, checking out the neighborhood), and when we got home it was dark and the gym was closing. My neighborhood isn't the kind you wanna go jogging in at night either.

I did eat proper though, and stayed under my 2,100 calorie goal.

Tonight we might look at one single house from the inside, so I have no excuses or reasons to not get in some cardio tonight, and that's assuming we can even get a showing.

I plan on 45 minutes of cardio, possibly mixing in two different cardio machines. And if its not raining I'll walk home from the gym as a nice cooldown (its about 1.3 miles)

Can't look at that house until tomorrow, so I'll definitely be walking to the gym, busting some cardio, and walking back home to make up for yesterday's lack of 'good activity'.

Last night was 28 minutes of elliptical machine on 'fat burning' program. I was done before my wife, so as planned, I briskly walked/jogged back home about 1.3 miles. I was pretty wiped but today I feel good.

Tonight is another upper body workout, after we look at this house at 6:30pm. No other plans so again, no reason I cannot workout. I might go to the gym instead of working out at home, since friday nights its usually dead after 8pm (everyone's out partying I guess).

What is this: "Fat Burning Program?" Be more open with what you doing, young man, geesh.........>:biggrinsanta:

And, what is this Upper Body Workout?

You know, the eye movement, and finger tip movement hitting the key board typing a post for someone, normally do not expend that many calories; however, if this keeps up, I may have re-think my calorie allotment so I do not lose any more fat tissue. I am getting a workout here buddy....own up! :angry3:

What sort of structure do you have for your fat-loss program?

Best regards,

been a busy weekend.

I'm not following a routine yet...thus I'm not posting exercises and rep schemes. The fact that I am doing ANYTHING aside from 6 hours of gaming every weeknight and 10+ hours on each weekend day is a step forward.

I cannot publish my exact diet strategy out of respect for the person who wrote it and didn't charge me for the service, but its essentially carb cycling, protein rich, and high in veggies/fiber.

I didn't workout Sunday, though I did a lot of house chores including mowing the lawn. Today after work we have two house showings, so we're going to walk the dogs a bit before supper, and I plan to hit the gym late in the evening for some heavy rowing, and either legs, or 20 mins of running after weights.

I'll be messing around with a real routine in probably another week, once I get all the kinks worked out of my decrepit body lol!

*edit*
we are now up to THREE showings for our home today, starting at 4pm. that's a lot of dog walking.

today i'm a little down about missing a workout and no offers on the house. but we're supposed to be going to the gym after work today.
