The Run Challenge - Burning the Ground!

blush*** hahahahaa

yup!

I met a skydiver and i am a pro now. I met a race car driver, and i build a car and raced, i met a BASE jumper and i jumped, i met an ironman and i am in pursuit. i do not have pride. I have desire. And when you have what i want, you have me to deal with. Or I cna be rejected. then i will just find another "one." hehehhhee

sorta like me and you eh Phate --- c'mere and kiss me!

Speaking of sky-diving, do you still have to pay 200 bucks a dive, or since your a pro now do they let you in on a nice discount?

right now we just went up to $18 bucks- a jump from 14.50. Fuel costs are killing me man!

oh but If I don't want to get all sweaty, and have somebody else pack my rig, it costs another $6. So it's about $25 a jump.

let's remember that after a 1000 altitude jumps, and 300 B.A.S.E. ju8mps and another 15 grand in gear. :( the cost of being a junkie is high

but it sure feels fgood. An I like feelin good :luxlove:

:D

I noticed him taking a look in your photo journal and performance is not enough journal, looks like he's a quiet one though

18 bucks a Jump? Man that sure beats 225 dollars they want me to pay.

still debating on whether I should blow my all my cash on 1 sky dive on the 21'st or use the cash to buy some new clothes for the fall.

You sure you don't know anyone that can hook me up with a discount ?

I'd go with the dive and then just hit a thrift store for new digs. Think you're more likely to remember falling out of an airplane than what you wore fall 2008.

Not that anyone asked me. ^_^

Another thing. Why in the hell are marathons and races so expensive? I was looking to register for half a marathon and its 50 bucks, and a full marathon is over 70 bucks. What is this shiat?

They are going to charge me money to run on public property?! WTF

... bat country, here I come T_T

Glad to see so many people involved! That is excellent. :D

Will do up a roster type thing after a few days. Let's get it on! :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

Anyway, for my first entry...

Bio

I'm a 10+ year fatty who's closing in on being reasonably fit.. and finding myself in need of a much higher mountain to climb. Two months ago I couldn't run for a minute without stopping. Currently, I'm not really sure what I can do. I can certainly run 5 miles in 50 minutes (could do this when I was 20 lbs heavier) or 3 miles in 24 minutes (can do this now), but beyond that... I have no idea.

The event I signed up for is 6 weeks away... Pretty sure I'm gonna die trying. I would just give up now, but, the thing is, bikini pics of JoveGirl are on the line. So.. failure is not an option. :SaiyanSmilie_anim: Gonna do a "test" run tomorrow, @ a 10mm pace, see if I can run 13 miles or not, currently. Will have to stop, though, when/if my right knee gives me trouble.

You could just show up and run it, without registering. Not sure if they'd be able to stop you. :p

I competed in the Escape from the Rock triathlon yesterday. It's a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz, followed by a 2.5 mile run to the transition area, 13 hilly miles through the Presidio, ending with a 6.2 mile run up to the Golden Gate, down to Baker Beach to slog through the deep sand and up the infamous "Sand Ladder" which is essentially an ascent up the cliff on soft sandy steps.

I placed 4th in my age group, 29th overall and my splits are as follows:

Swim ---- 00:39:07.6
Run1 ---- 00:19:42.4
T1 ------ 00:01:30.3
Bike ----- 00:46:04.5
T2 ------ 00:00:51.1
Run ----- 00:39:30.1
Finish --- 02:26:46.0

This is such a cool thread! I wish I had something of substance to add...

I worked up to running 5 consecutive minutes from 3 last week--does that count??

I wanna do an Ironman! Or, maybe like a 5K!:)

Using motor boasts, and motorcycles, and roller blades do not count as real times!! so stop it already!

ahaha

great times. And to place that well is fantastic. That is a popular race i believe. Or at least with the peeps i know it is. It's on my list.

SO- to get real with this- you did the swim/run/ride/AND THEN RAN sub 7's!!!!!!!!

you may be the only one here that can run a single sub 7
