Appropriate control is the key to success in a diet: Bottom Line.

Weed out the crap and when the dust settles and clears, all that matters to the body in accordance to its design is: the law of energy balance and the nutritional function you provide.

Bang your head on a table and cry. When you lift your head up with it throbbing and with your face wet, this fact still didnt change, but you can work more constructive with it. Dry the tears, put a band aide on the boo booed forehead, and WORK IT! Sort your feelings out work with your strengths and weaknesses.

This basic rule (energy in versus energy out) never changes it always stays basically the same. Its only your mind that can maintain it or flip it to one side or the other, you are always in control in what happens, because this rule always stays the same no matter what you decide to do. You are truely in control of the outcome of your diet. You really have to GRASP THIS REAL GOOD!

Your body IS the innocent bystander functioning only by its design. You by understanding this design, can determine what output it provides.

EMBRACE IT: You dont have a choice----or do you?

No conflict is so severe as his who labors to subdue himself.

INSIGHT
How easy is it to wallow in the misery of a situation?
How attractive to just believe the worst and so not bother?
How natural to look on the dark side of life?

It is all too easy to see the worst in things, waiting for things to 'get better' before getting active and interacting with life.

Catch 22! As we know, it is usually the interaction and the activity that creates the pleasure!

It is the effort of thinking all the way round a situation that yields the rewards. The stubbornness to not just accept the first interpretation your mind feeds you.

Taking control of your own thoughts can be difficult at first. It can feel like it will always be hard.

And then, with a little perseverance, you get the first reward. It gets a little easier. And so the snowball begins to roll down the hill.

One interpretation, one point of view, a single way of looking at things is one kind of choice.

No Choice At All!

Practice a little flexible thinking and see the rewards come rolling in!

The next time you get angry, upset or depressed about something, remember that a 'negative' emotion needs a single interpretation to exist.

==========================================================

Keep your mind STRONG! Think and react POSITIVELY. Sit down and embrace your tempatations, adapt to them: If you really understand them you can better deal with them!

I wish all of your the best each day.

I hope your day went well.

I hope you had no obstacles or burdens to bare.

If you did, I hope you didnt give in but rather crushed them.

ROCK ON!............BE PROUD! Be PROUD OF YOURSELF..........MOVE FORWARD.

Another day and another step forward in your goals you seek!

Rock on Brothers and Sisters!

Mastering Yourself

the power of your thoughts

AG_mind1.jpg

Think good thoughts, speak highly of yourself....

below is an article by Ineke.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Power Of Your Thoughts
The greatest power we ever got is the power of our thoughts.
There is an Intelligence inside us that can elevate our life
at the highest level.
Everyone should learn to collaborate with this Intelligence
which is organized to react on our intentions and to create
with us a life of abundance and happiness.
Freedom, happiness, richness, love, friendship, health and wealth
are our birth right.
We have been created to live our life in freedom, health and wealth.
If our life doesn't look like that, it means we block ourselves by
our thoughts. Our thoughts are very powerful instruments we use to
either create happiness and wealth, or sickness and poverty.
If your life doesn't look like what you're dreaming of, it means you
have thoughts which go against you. Your thoughts create your life.
If you want to change your life, change first your thoughts.
You can choose your thoughts. Nobody in the world can put a thought
in your head without your permission. Your mind belongs to you! It's
your job to control your thoughts! You are the master of your head,
you are the guardian of your thoughts. You can change them. Choose
those thoughts who will bring you the results you want.
Never think a thing you don't want to happen.
Read that again: never think a thought you don't want to become true.
It means: don't think anything negative about yourself if you don't
want this thought to become real. If you don't want to be stupid,
stop thinking you are. If you don't want to be fat, stop rehearsing
in your head how fat you are now. If you don't want to loose your
boyfriend or girlfriend, stop thinking about this possibility.
Instead of these destructive thoughts, choose thoughts which reinforce
you. Choose to think how intelligent you are, and you will be! Choose
to think how beautiful you are, and you will shine like a star! Choose
to think you are loved, and you will!
Thoughts are energy. Every thought carries an energy level.
Your choice: you choose thoughts which lower your energy level,
or you choose thoughts which increase your energy level.
It's in your hands! Or better: it's in your head! How you will
feel and act depends on what you think. Every action and emotion
is preceded by a thought.
You can choose thoughts which block you, or even paralyze you.
It isn't any more difficult to watch your thoughts to be able to
choose them consciously. It's just a matter of exercise and
consciousness.
Once you've learned how to become the master of your thoughts,
you become the master of your life!
If checking your thoughts seems too difficult for now, you can
start watching your mouth. Never let come out of your mouth something
you don't want to happen! Never wish a bad luck to anyone if you don't
want this to realize. Watch your mouth, watch your words, watch your
thoughts, and become the creator of your own life!
Your life does not depend on others. It depends on your own ability
to master your thoughts.
Surprising Insights Using This Special Journaling Techniques
List-making is a journaling technique that is often used to quickly jot down a numbered record on topics like “6 most important things to do,” “my beliefs,” “my goals,” or “my strengths.” However, there’s a special type of journaling technique that moves beyond a simple itemization and into the realm of significant self-awareness.
This special technique has several names, including life contents, life chapters, and stepping-stones, the latter term used by journaling expert, Ira Progoff. Using this technique the writer lists their most important life events, as though they were chapter headings in an autobiography. Progoff and others suggest keeping the list to around a dozen, to ensure the inclusion of only major events from your life.
One writer’s listed these items:
1. Brother died when I was three years old.
2. Mom went into the hospital when I was five, and I didn’t know why or when she would come home.
3. Grandma died when I was ten, and because of my age they wouldn’t let me go to the hospital and see her.
4. Dad died of a sudden heart attack when I was 15. I was with him but couldn’t save his life.
5. I fell in love but we lived in different cities and things just never seemed to work out.
6. My step-father died—how could this happen?
7. My long-distance love affair ended.
8. I fell in love again and thought it was for a lifetime.
9. I got married and was happy, at least for a long time.
10. I got divorced. It wasn’t for a lifetime.
Is there any doubt that this journal-writer has major issues concerning death and other ending issues? And, do you notice the lack of happy events? After this diarist created the stepping stones, she then wrote about each, realizing how many unresolved issues she carried with her—and how they impacted her ability to be happy.
Do this exercise several times over months or years and you’ll find your choice of events changing. Sometimes your first love affair is the most important thing on the list, and other times it won’t make the top 10 or 12 at all. Why? Because the list reflects the issues that cry out for attention.
As you become proficient with this technique, it can be used using for specific topics, like the stepping stones of your work issues, relationships, or spiritual growth. Play with it... it can be a lot of fun!
Self-Mastery:
How we react to a situation is usually based on how we feel about ourselves and what we feel we deserve.
Do you shrink from adversity or view it as a way to grow in strength and skill.
Do you see yourself winning or losing?
Are you prepared to make things work or do you feel that it's not worth the effort.
Whatever you believe is usually what will come to pass. You have the opportunity to grow in the power of self mastery.
Pain.
Its comes in different forms: Mental pain, an internal emotional pain, and Physical pain.
None of them are enjoyable. But most are avoidable. And, personally unemployable.
==========================================================
"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional."
Unknown
One way to look at this, is not progressing in the gym or having a bad day at the gym. You didnt quite perform the way you wanted the body to produce. You are mad, angry, and hurt. You are feeling pain. Whether you suffer for this will determine how you approach this situation or deal with the situation.
Being head strong and severely determined will overcome any suffering bouts, in a series of efforts you apply to this situation that caused the pain.
Do NOT make yourself SUFFER unnecessarily.
Chillen
=========================================================
"We cannot learn without pain."
Aristotle
We can go only two directions with pain. Dig a deeper hole or take the shovel and start covering the hole then embracing the complication and overcoming this with pursistant will and desire and self practicality.
We can learn much from our pains in the gym and within Diet. Listen carefully and objectively.
Chillen
==========================================================
"There is no pain so great as the memory of joy in present grief."
Aeschylus
“We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.”
Kenji Miyazawa
If you remember overcoming gym and diet obstacles before, and are experiencing one in the present, use this to overcome the current condition of pain, and this will bring future enjoyment. This can be a building block for mental toughness and endurance. Take this pain and burn it as fuel to move ahead to have this same pain be an enjoyment in the future. You can make this possible.
Chillen
==========================================================
“There is one pain I often feel, which you will never know. It is caused by the absence of you.”
(Unknown)
You can cause more pain by leaving your mind out of the situation or not enjoining the mind with the type of pain your experiencing. The Absence of you can bring more pain than you can handle---WAKE UP!
Chillen
==========================================================
“Wisdom is nothing more than healed pain.”
Robert Gary Lee
Once you apply the mental side of you and apply this to the situation and conquer the situation, you then become wiser, and each is a stepping block one on top of the other.
Chillen
==========================================================
“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”
Kahlil Gibran
Sometimes when we feel pain we get mentally enclosed, narrow vision, we just get wrapped up and closed up like an egg shell, and it becomes a hard shell to crack because of this. You have to be consciously and cognitively aware that this can happen, and WHEN your in this condition to prevent it and break out of it.
Chillen
==========================================================
Pain is only valuable once you know that you've learned from it.
Learn from your pain. It can teach you MUCH during the time its occurring and in future pain you will experience.
Chillen
==========================================================
EMBRACE PAIN. Pain is a powerful force. It can bring you up and bring you down, but its not the pain that causes this teeter-totter, its the application of your mind and how one uses it to deal with it that is the ultimate decision maker.
Thank you. For your comments.
Thanks for referring me to this chillen. I already pretty much knew this with my training, but I didn't think of it to refer to emotional pain as well.
I wish I had read this a few months ago, it would've saved me alot of suffering. I've bookmarked this page especially so I can look back on it.
Thanks, really.
And we continue with PAIN:
Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887) American politician.
You can avoid pain from Diet and Training from Spreading and infecting the things you dont want it to, by constructively handling it: You can apply the knowledge you have to the situation, and this can encompass many different forms and applications, you can be more emotionally driven to up intensity if this is applicable, and so on and so forth. YOU CAN RIP the poison out with knowledge and mental application.
Hello! Whats up! How is everyone doing? Chillen is back after a few exhausting days (with work, home responsibilities, and posting on the forum where needed). I truely care about you guys!
COME ON.........ROCK IT! Shake the foundation of your world!
From viewing various posts around the forum, I see some bouts with: Self-Perception. Thus I am making this a topic today with a series of quotes.
Let us rock with them!
==========================================================
"Active, successful natures act, not according to the dictum "know thyself," but as if there hovered before them the commandment: will a self and thou shalt become a self. "
-Friedrich Nietzsche
==========================================================
"People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself. But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates."
-Thomas Szasz
==========================================================
You are truely the solution:
"To the question of your life you are the answer, and to the problems of your life you are the solution."
-Joe Cordare
==========================================================
"It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion, it is easy in solitude to live after your own; but the great is the person who, in the midst of the world, keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson (chillen modified)
==========================================================
"To know oneself, one should assert oneself."
-Camus
==========================================================
"We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be."
-Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
==========================================================
"Committing yourself is a way of finding out who you are. A person finds their identity by identifying."
-Robert Terwilliger (Chillen Modified)
==========================================================
An Interesting Angle:
"One does not "find oneself" by pursuing one's self, but on the contrary by pursuing something else and learning through discipline or routine … who one is and wants to be."
-May Sarton
==========================================================
Do not be a stranger to yourself! WAKE THE PERSON UP!
"Ninety percent of the world's woe comes from people not knowing themselves, their abilities, their frailties, and even their real virtues. Most of us go almost all the way through life as complete strangers to ourselves."
-Sydney J. Harris
==========================================================
"Self-knowledge is the beginning of self-improvement."
-Spanish proverb
==========================================================
"You need to claim the events of your life to make yourself yours. When you truly possess all that you have been and done, which may take some time, you are fierce with reality."
-Florida Scott Maxwell
==========================================================
"Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do."
-Pope John XXIII
==========================================================
"Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones tend to take care of themselves."
-Dale Carnegie
==========================================================
"Every year I live I am more convinced that the waste of life lies in the love we have not given, the powers we have not used, the selfish prudence that will risk nothing, and which shirking pain, misses happiness as well. No one ever yet was the poorer in the long run for having once in a lifetime 'let out all the length of all the reins.'"
-Mary Cholomondeley
==========================================================
"Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts."
-Albert Einstein
==========================================================
"When you take charge of your life, there is no longer need to ask permission of other people or society at large. When you ask permission, you give someone veto power over your life."
-Geoffrey F. Abert
==========================================================
"I know this now. Every man gives his life for what he believes. Every woman gives her life for what she believes. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing yet they give their lives to that little or nothing. One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. And then it is gone. But to sacrifice what you are and live without belief, that's more terrible than dying."
-Joan of Arc
==========================================================
"If you're able to be yourself, then you have no competition. All you have to do is get closer and closer to that essence."
-Barbara Cook
==========================================================
"It takes years to build up trust, but only seconds to destroy it.
You can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes.
After that you'd better know something.
Don't compare yourself to the best others can do,
But to the best you can do.
It's not what happens to people that's important.
It's what they do about it.
Always leave loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.
You control your attitude or it controls you.
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Your background and circumstances may have influenced who you are,
But you are responsible for who you become.
Even if you do the right thing for the wrong reason,
It's still the wrong thing to do
.
"Neither evil tongues,
Rash judgements, nor the sneers of selfish persons,
Nor greetings where no kindness is, nor all
The dreary intercourse of daily life,
Shall e'er prevail against me."
-William Wordsworth
==========================================================
"Never follow somebody else's path; it doesn't work the same way twice for anyone...the path follows you and rolls up behind you as you walk, forcing the next person to find their own way."
-J. Michael Straczynski
==========================================================
And one of the best for last for all the forum "Brotha and Sista's":
"Those who know others are intelligent
Those who know themselves have insight.
Those who master others have force
Those who master themselves have strength.
Those who know what is enough are wealthy.
Those who persevere have direction.
Those who maintain their position endure.
And those who die and yet do not perish, live on."
-Lao-Tzu
==========================================================
How you preceive yourself is a CRITICAL feeling, and its one you MUST master appropriately. Yes, this can be difficult, but set a path and make it a goal to deal with self-perception, and your prize is WINNING YOURSELF, and there is no greater prize! I sincerly believe in all of you.............
Work together and unit! Be strong..........Dont give up!
Best wishes as always,
Sometimes with work, home responsibilities, and training, I get pretty swamped. Therefore I need a backup plan. I want to ask if there is anyone that could post an entry into the ChillOut Log on the days I am too busy and dont have time? I could PM you in advance and let you know. This wont happen too often, just once in a while.
Let me know. If not, there may be some day lapses once in a while, but not often.
Thought I would ask.
