Rum! Rum! Rum!
We love Rum!
I have this image of you trying to check a full rum barrel on the plane ride home. "What do you mean only 750ml? It's only one."
Yup, I love it, too. I don't know what rum plants are around where you are going, but when I was in San Juan one time I went to the Bacardi plant. What a great tour and tasting room. So much interesting information. I recommend looking into it.
unlimited tasting plus take home samples.
Heh, heh. Unlimited, they say. I see that as a challenge.
I have to go back to Jamaica one of these days. I was there once, but only for about 3 hours. Long story, but I did make the most of those three hours. I was told to stick to the resort area and promptly left to explore the barrios. Had a great time but had to stay sober. Next time will be different.
Yeah, three hours is about 100 times too short. I have a friend who is talking about retiring and buying a cat sailboat and hopping around the Caribbean. When he does that I'm sure to go visiting him. I do want to get scuba certified, first, though.
Nice! Cats are so comfortable, especially for people who aren't sailors. Very steady.
My thinking is that if you are going to another country and you don't experience the culture, then you might as well stay home. Why go to Jamaica to sit on a beach and drink rum? You can do that at home. You go there because the people are different and the culture is different. Look for those differences and enjoy them.
It reminds me of the American tourist that said that Paris was really nice except for all the foreigners there.
What's the plan?
