Weight-Loss The Brat Pack June Weight Loss Challenge

freshops.com is a good source. It's worth the extra money to get their established crowns. I think they call them magnum, or something like that.

Talking about alcohol production all day isn't going to help you fight the battle of wanting to drink haha.

Talk about something like water production HAHAA

OK going to workout now :)

Talking about alcohol is much better than drinking it! Er, at least in the sense of trying to lose weight!

Ok, so let's talk about working out. How do you track calories burned? I'm a gadget nut and was offered a body bugg with gym membership and I jumped on it. I don't have to think about it now. I'm aiming for 2800 calories burned and my average since re-starting my program two weeks ago has been just over that. I'd like to up it to 3000 calories, but I'm finding that I'm just at the point of using up all my energy!

I never heard of that body bugg thing, so I looked it up. Pretty cool. It seems a bit bulky for my taste, and to buy one is a bit pricey for a gadget, but cool that you got one with your membership.

For calories burned, I really don't calculate it. When I work out I try to do better then the last time I did that particular workout. I'm not a numbers guy where I'm measuring everything and computing everything. Just too many variables for my taste.

It actually helps. You work so hard to make the stuff that you don't drink it all at once. It's like the difference between getting cookies at the store or making them yourself. The cookies that you make are better for you, taste better, and you will eat fewer. At least that's the way it is for me.

(Damn! Now I'm wanting cookies. :()

Hello all!
I know what you are talking about with the drinking. I love to let my hair down on the weekends and have a few. I let myself drink one day a week. Well this weekend it was more due to the fact that we went camping. But I did go for a hike! That helps with burning it off. I know I should not drink at all but I don't want to give up everything all at once. I started this journey in Feb and I have lost 20 lbs so far!!! But there is a big part of my that knows it would be more if I just stopped drinking all those extra cals.

Also my prob is I really don't care of boy beers only the sweet girlie ones like the hard teas. But I am working on liking the Mic Ultra. That has far fewer cals that the girlie drinks. I don't know no matter what it is bad. But I told myself that I need to work extra hard the next day to make up for the night of dieting sin. lol

So like I said we went camping this weekend and I could have been worse than what I was. But I sure as hell could have been allot better.
So as far as this week I have stayed the same. Thank God.

Sorry for not getting around to posting this on Monday.
Talk again real soon. Good luck everyone with your week. Tina:seeya:

See my thinking is that beer and wine are too fattening so I just do shots of 151 so that i keep my calories down and buzz up. ;)

That is a great way of looking at it! Maybe I should try that but the only prob is I would be worthless fast. I want to live in a world that the things we really like are cal free. Mine would be alcohol and chips. I have two close friends who brew their own beer. Man I wish I could acquire a taste for it. Have you try making your own wine? You can buy kits for that also. I enjoy wine but again not for the dieting. Tina:cheers2:

I have tried to make my own wine, but unlike beer, wine makers are not interested in consistency. A wine from one year is supposed to taste different from another, so basically the best wine makers are making some really amazing wines. I have not found a home made wine that can compare to the commercial wines.

I signed a three year contract for a gym and paid in full up front. It's really close to the house I just bought, so I'll be in the area that long. And I know I'll need to do exercise for the rest of my life, so it was worth it. They give you all sorts of discounts if you do something like that! I think I paid $100 extra for the body bugg and tutorial and a few training sessions. Much better than the retail price.

I thought it was bulky at first and the band rubbed on my arm funny. But now I'm completely used to it and fell naked without it. I even have a nice body bugg tan.

I'm not a numbers guy where I'm measuring everything and computing everything. Just too many variables for my taste.

I was surprised when I first got the body bugg how accurate things seemed to be. My expected weight loss and actual weight loss were usually within 0.5 pounds of each other. I just started using it again (after the sedentary period after surgery) and last week the expected and actual losses were spot on. As long as I'm careful about really counting my calories, I feel like it's pretty darn accurate. But you gotta be anal...

And again, the whole gadget nut thing. It's just cool! They use them on Biggest Loser too - I just saw some episodes this last season for the first time. One of the guys was wearing his upside down.

Hehehhehe, interesting stuff!

I also just prefer to try exercise a little harder than the last time... don't count cals burned. And I totally go on averages and guesstimates for foods (I know what they are though), I will not diet. I refuse. This is just me, living healthy and feeling good!

Drank three beers last night. Sigh. But it was a party!

I have changed just about nothing else about my diet except for cutting out alcohol. I'd say that's where 75% of my excess calories came from. The rest of the time I did just over eat. But cutting out the alcohol is really making the difference. If I could just cut it a little more...

Wow this is the first time I've come back to this thread two hours later and I'm STILL the last one who posted!! Guess it's a busy day for everyone eh???
