sorry ladies, to keep you waiting i.e. not talking. The whole family's been sick this week, I'm on antibiotics, kiddo is as well, even dog is (well she cut her foot LOL but anyway been lots of trips to the pharmacy!), even hubby stayed home from work sick.

Anyway I am working on my grocery list now and going to try to convert back to 90% anti-inflammatory diet, I feel so good when I eat right. I guess its 'good' that I bounced up a few pounds from teh view of this challenge.

other good news is that even though I didnt know what the detour was I had soup with cabbage for lunch on friday! I like to make a tomato based soup lots veggies and hamburger and then slice cabbage and put in the pot and boil soup--its yummy!
 
Aww I am happy to see you back mom. :grouphug: I am so so so sorry about your family and you beeing sick. It is so unpleasent. You have planty of time to eat your cabbage though. We haven't agreed on how to divide the exercises so I am just doing my 1/3rd share. Actually I made a very precise estimation and the exact length is going to be 04:26:58. It is 09:58 more than the required. LOL. Not much! Sorry guys. Actually if you think you won't be able to complete your exercises let me know so I can see if I can do anything....

I am doing very well. Yesterday I did 33:12 exercises - pilates burn full, abs and arms, squats and sit ups. Today I did 58:47 Davina Warm Up, Pump+Abs, Cool down, squats and sit ups. This is about one and a half hour already done roughly. Yesterday I ate one cup of cabbage. I put one tea spoon paprika on it. Gross! Mistake - doesn't go well with paprika. Today I ate the 2nd cup - again plain but added 1 tea spoon Branston pickle as a side dish. The pickle gave some taste to it so it was eatable. Well it is not my fav meal and the main problem is that it doesn't have much taste. I love raw cabbage though.

I also have a new low today so things are good with me. Kisses and hugs!
 
Hey chickies! Mom2 - sorry to hear about the sickness! That just sucks! I do think we need to figure out how much exercise we're each doing - just so we can make sure we hit it. The weigh - ins are on Friday, right? I didn't get any exercise in yesterday - I was working late with my mom.

My workouts range anywhere from 45-60 min a tape, but I'd be glad to only do 60 min tapes since I've missed a day. So, we each need to do about 5 hours each? Am I figuring that out right? I could be completely wrong - I'm in three different contests right now and have been trying to get things wrapped up before starting the new job Monday.

I have my head of cabbage - but I'm nervous as to eating the 5 cups - its definitely NOT one of my favorite dishes!

I have not had a check to see what we have to do. I only did a 20 min walk yesterday and was not planning to do any today but I will now, perhaps I will take all kids for a walk before sun goes down.

I ate ALOT cabbage today, I took the soup I made on friday and added a bunch of water to it and TONS more cabbage, had two bowls of it today to total 3 cups it was very good with tons other veggies. So that puts me to 3.5 cups total.

Perhaps we should each shoot for what we need + 30 minutes as a 'just incase' factor?
 
I am coping this week bonus for quick reference:

Week 1—Chicago to Moscow 12hrs 50min. This averages out to 4hrs 17min of exercise per person. Remember your team doesn't have to split it up that way. See the rules if you need to jog your memory regarding this.

Here are the real Detour choices which each team member must choose 1 option: 1. Do a Russian Cossack dance for 1 min w/out falling over (see youtube video link)

or 2. Eat 5 cups of boiled cabbage (Russians apparently eat a lot of boiled cabbage) during the week. 1 cup of raw green cabbage only has 22 calories, and is an excellent source of vitamin C. Feel free to make cabbage soup, or add other diet-friendly things to your cabbage.

If you choose the Cossack dance, you must do it just like the kid in the video, and you must do it continuously for 1 minute in order for it to count. Good luck with that! I’ll be eating boiled cabbage, thank you very much. I have very muscular legs, and can't do it to save my life..haha.

Each team will get 10pts if each member does one of the two choices.

I am doing 10 min more than needed and I can fit some more if you see that you can't make it. Please let me know as I have everything planned to the last second. (LOL, sorry I am a plan maniac). But maybe since both of you are very busy it would be a good idea to plan your exercises in advance. If one of us sees a busy week coming up the other 2 can always relieve the stress by taking more minutes.

The weigh ins are on Thursdays and Fridays and it is vital to go with the better weight in order to stay longer in the competition.

Well done with the cabbage Mom! I am with Lori about it, not really :drool5: either. :biggrinjester:
 
Okay, well for the exercise..I'm just going to shoot for 5 hours (is that each week?) Then that will give an extra 43 minutes for us as a cushion.

I have some great cabbage dishes..but they aren't exactly HEALTHY :(

They involve lots of butter and noodles and salt.
 
I too am shooting for 5 hours, I cant really 'plan' mine. I used to go every morning before work but now I am carpooling some days so I cant go in the am and have to try to fit it in at night after little one goes to bed but some nights I just am too drained. I did go for a walk tonight so chuck in 40 more minutes for me. 1 hour down, 4 hours to go!
 
Wow girls, if you both aim for 5 hours it means this week we are getting all our points for sure! :party:

I also know traditional cabbage meal but it involves so much salt that I don't dare to think about it. Never mind only 3 cups to go...

I had a total of 32 min 49 sec Pilates bun and thighs, Pilates sculpt (arms), Pilates flex; squats; sit ups today.

I didn't eat cabbage today.

I saw new low which is very, very good. I have only 6.6 pounds to go to my goal so it is an exciting count down.

I am trying to get into the habit of controled treats so I am planning on eating salt and vinegar crisps on Tuesday. I had similar treat last Thursday when I ate 2 pieces of chocolate cake with loads of cream. Amazingly the cake didn't stop the loss. Let's see what the crisps will do to me.
 
wulsk - good for you on the controlled treats, I very much need to learn to do that, if I could I would be a success too! Anyway I went to a health/diet class my work put on adn that was the guys recommendation to figure out what you really really love and stick to those things for your treats and dont eat otehr treats just because they are there, save it for what you really love, it made sense but I love everything with sugar LOL! You are so close to your goal, excellent job. Oh and I cant believe you time out your excercise to the second, you are a crazy planning girl!

Well girls I planned out my menu for the week and got my breakfast and lunches ready so that is good. I am eating very healhtfully eggs and barley/blueberry cereal for breakfast with cous cous and stuffed green pepper for lunch my snacks will be spelt bread with peanut butter in the morning and apple cheese in afternoon. I am rbinging grapes and frozen grapes to work to try and curb my sugar cravings without hitting candy jar (too much). I only have an hour excercise in so far this week so I need to step on it!

I think its interesting that the points arent cumulative this time, what do you two think abou thtat?

Indeed I did! I start today! I'm so excited. I set my alarm for 4 am in hopes that I would get up and exercise..but I just couldn't do it. I'm used to getting up around 8ish..so that may take a little bit of time before I become a morning exerciser.

I didn't get a chance to exercise yesterday because I was running around with my mom all day - but I plan on getting at least 4.5 hours before Friday..no worries! I'll just have to do it after work.

I hope all went perfect on the first working day for Lori.

I was angry today because the bad weather forced me to rearrange all my plans. I had jogging scheduled which I had to replace with an indoor activity. Also I had to give up my regular walk due to the strong wind which blew my glasses. They have survived by miracle. I hate to change my plans! Grrrr!

Anyways. Got 38 min 47 sec Davina DVD Legs+Warm Up, Cool Down, squats and sit ups.

3rd cup of cabbage is also in!

Good night to me now... very sleepy...
 
I also did very well today. 50 minutes at the gym jogging/biking and then a 15 minute walk later in the day. So I am up to 2 hours 10 minutes. ??? does friday count this week or next week? So If I need 5 horus by friday then I have to do 1 hour tue wed and thur or I will be short? of DO I need that 3 horus across tue wed thur fri?

Anyway good so far is 2 hours 10 minutes and I am eating extra cabbage to make sure I am ok but I am at about 3.5cups so far and have half a head left. I will boil it in tomato juice probably tomorrow night, its good that way I think.

did pretty well with snacks tonight.

Mom, you are doing just great with the exercises and the food. Friday is our day 1 of every new challenge so Thursday is the last day. I am pretty sure we will get full points.

I have done lots of walking today but only 14 min 12 sec count, consisting of jogging, squats, sit ups.

My total so far is: 02:57:47

No cabbage today.

I ate my controlled treat - crisps mmmmmmmmm! I am sure I will be up tomorrow because of the salt but I hope it will settle till the weigh in.
 
ok today was a good day for me. I did a 15 min walk at work, then walked dogs for 30 minutes and did 50 minutes at the gym for a grand total of 1 hour 35 min so that gets me up to 3 hours 45minutes and 2 days left to go...yeah! I cant remember how much cabbage we had to eat but I am up to 5 cups and I still have 1/2 pot left of what I made tonight, I think I might make this more, I LIKE it LOL, boiled in tomato juice/water with garlic onion celery pepper italian spices (just pinch) it was nice.

I hope you ladies are well today. I feel that having just two people with me kepes me very accountable, before it was me against others and I ddint want to let team down but I also knew there were more people too, now I just have you two ladies counting on me to keep up my end of the bargain LOL, its helping me. Ok 2 good days down.

ps I tried a trick to satisfy nightly sweet tooth, put grapes in a bag, add a bit of water, put in some sugar free jello powder and then freeze, they are yummy!
