Weight-Loss The Amazing Race Challenge ABS of Steel Team

Weight-Loss
Well I don't think I lived up to my part of the bargain here, but I did get in exercise yesterday and today:
45 min. weights + 15 min. walk at school yesterday
45 min. elliptical + 15 min. treadmill today

team total = 1175/1085

Good luck for your weigh-ins!

Week 5—Auckland to Seoul 19hrs 15min. 6hrs25min split 3 ways

1. Drink 1 cup of green tea per day (must be from tea leaves or a tea bag—not the bottled sweetened kind) or 2. Do all 15 of the Tae Kwon Do how-to videos below once over the course of the week.

I imagine this is a lot better than the previous April Fool post..lol. :D

okay ladies another 7hours this week...woohoo!!! lol

i will be having greentea everyday as i already do that so should be fairly simple :). hope we get through this week.

have a good day

x

I got rid of a 1/2 lb. Don't know how I did it with my bday being this week and the lack of exercise (compared to the other weeks.) I feel like I let you two down with the exercise numbers!

Just wanted to pop-in this morning and say howdy! Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Oh and I'm drinking green tea - I forgot I have a lot in the cupboard that needs to be drank. :D I will probably still do the TKD but I don't like the way the guy does the moves since I did 4 yrs of another martial arts. It makes you a little snooty to other types of martial arts (like oh "my" martial arts is better than yours.) :p

:seeya:

I did 45 min. on the elliptical and 45 min. of walking (with Bell) yesterday.

Team Total 90/1155

haha SP. don't matter if you don't do the martial arts if you drink the tea. i'm drinking tea everyday.

also i'm abit busy this week so may not be able to do all the excercise so would be much appreciated if you guys could do a bit more this week. :)

so far done 75 mins :(

haha SP. don't matter if you don't do the martial arts if you drink the tea. i'm drinking tea everyday. Yeah, I knew that, but I was going to try the martial arts, and I did a few of the moves, but when you're so used to something else, it just doesn't jive. :p

also i'm abit busy this week so may not be able to do all the excercise so would be much appreciated if you guys could do a bit more this week. I'm really working hard to up my min. so hopefully we will get there. Just do the best you can. You have done an awesome job with exercise - and it's time I step up and do a bit more.

Week 6—Seoul to Johannesburg 18hrs 35min. 6hrs12min split 3 ways

Roadblock: make and eat Nelson Mandela’s favorite South African dish—umngqusho. Don’t even try to pronounce it. The recipe is below. Only one person per team needs to do this--and remember--if you've already done 2 roadblocks, someone else from your team must do it.

Umngqusho—South African dish—Nelson Mandela’s fav
What you need
• 2 cups dry samp (broken hominy)
• 1 cup dry cowpeas (black-eyed peas) or any similar beans

What you do
• Combine samp and cowpeas in a large enamel pot or glass bowl. Add cold water sufficient to cover. Cover, and let stand overnight. Drain and rinse before cooking.
• In a large pot. Cover the soaked samp and cowpeas mixture with cold water. Bring to a boil. Let boil for ten minutes. Reduce heat. Add sugar beans, margarine, onions, potatoes, chillis and lemons. Simmer on low heat for one to two hours, until all is tender and the water is mostly absorbed. Add additional water during cooking if needed.
• Season with salt. Serve hot.

You must eat the whole thing by yourself. With the ingrediants other than the black-eyed peas and hominy, you can add as much or as few as you like--for example, if you don't care for spicy food, just add a tiny bit of chilis. Any questions? Just ask.

Ok, so who's up for this roadblock?

good job SP!!!!

i need to do the martial arts today and some extra excercise aswell.

i won't be able to do the roadblock cause we don't get hominy anywhere where i live. i even looked at the shop where you get food from all over the world. sorry. blackeyed peas i can get but not hominy ;)

Really? I forget where you live. But we have hominy in cans around here - it's a form of corn I believe.
I think I've done 1 roadblock - and we're aloud to do 2 - right? So I could do it if BG can't.

I've done the detour as well. I've been drinking the green tea, even more than I had to. Plus I did the martial arts - not all of it, but most of it - and then some of my own.

Today I got in 10 min. of walking (around the gym while the kiddos were burning off some energy.) and 75 min. at the Y. Working out with Bellaryna. It was a great workout too. They said I will fell it Sat., but I already feel it and I bet I will feel it tomorrow and Sat.!

Ok team checking in... got my usual Monday thru Thursday stuff in for 440 minutes... the scale was meh this week... I was going along well and then yesterday my body decided to revolt. I think I'm bloating for my TOM... :(

Team total= 1215/1155

Hope I didn't mess anything up, I couldn't check in all day. My internet went down yesterday and wasn't up this morning - long day - no time at work (we aren't allowed to surf the net anyway), then went to a friend's for a shin-dig and I just didn't get to get my stuff in until right now. I'm sorry if it disqualified us.
