Well done
Liza - for getting your day 2 completed.
I just realised that I forgot to answer your question yesterday...
I absolutely love salsa... Totally addicted... I actually have a background in all latin dance. I did ballroom latin dance as a child - taking dance exams as any child does... Like many others - I gave up in my mid teens and did normal teenage stuff... Then as an adult many years later I picked it up and completed all the amateur exams.
My salsa is my true dance love though... Luckily my husband is addicted too. There is actually a full salsa scene where there are socials devoted to salsa and a couple of related dances that normal people have never heard of... Under normal circumstances you could dance salsa pretty much every night. If you go somewhere new you can check out where there is salsa and you can immediately mix in.
My salsa teacher (who is also a good friend) used to be a zumba teacher and he still organises Zumba classes. He is a lovely person who worried about how everyone was coping and wanted to help everyone as happy and connected as possible during lockdown. Dance stopped in March - so in early April he decided that it would be a nice idea to post at 10am every weekday a little live 15 minutes which would include 4 fun Zumba tracks... It was just a little free gift for his friends to tune into and comment to each other and have a virtual zumba dance together... The tracks tended to lose their sound very quickly and get deleted off later that day... He actually did it right up until a week ago...
I used to love his Zumba classes and did about 6 classes a week until I got injured in about 2016 and stopped going... It does mean that a lot of the choreography was familiar to me. Also - some of the tracks are often used as line-ups with the same choreography at salsa events.
Fortunately a couple of weeks ago I found out how to download the little morning films to my computer and got some before they were deleted... If only I had thought of the idea sooner I would have had a better collection - but I do have an ok collection of over 20 tracks.
LOL on a couple of the tracks - I know that he is doing slightly different choreography to what we always used to do (I've told him so, and he admits it with friends agreeing) so I steadfastly ignore him on the screen at that point and do what we always did.
The zumba classes that he organises are currently recorded and virtual and taught by someone else I know - so I am happy with my little collection at the minute... My main aim is to get back to being fit enough to do solid classes of zumba once the group sessions start up again.
