I literally weighted in (after dinner) at 171.2, which is a 23 pound gain since summer and the most I've weighted in well over 2 years. Hahaha, I LITERALLY stuffed my face today, holy cow.

Weight today 163.5: //+ 15.5 pounds since summer

Briefing: Todays workout was gimped because I did it from home without nearly as much equipment in Wichita.

Bench Press : 3x8

Curls: 3 x 20 (had different weights)

Tricep Push-Downs: 3 x 8

Up right rows : 3 x 8 -- New because of the machine i was on

Lat Pull-Downs: 3x8

that was basically it today, No abs

Ran for about 3-4 Miles today (beatiful out, probably the nicest day for the rest of the year)

Intensity: 6.5//10

Thoughts: Todays was a very mild workout, but I absolutely blasted biceps. most veins I've seen come out of my arms/forearms in a while. So at least I got that in good. This will be my last workout until Monday. Alright, well I hope all of you had a good thanksgiving. It's to bad I couldn't keep more of that weight on me.

Noteworthy: I did omit some lifts from my routine today, and I didn't run. I omitted Skull-Crushers, Lat-pull downs, and pull-ups. I omitted these and running because I haven't felt well the past 2-3 days. This morning I woke up coughing up mucas with blood in it. I didn't think running 5 miles would be beneficial today, so I'll do that tomorrow and hit abs on Wednesday/Friday.

Bench Press : 5x5
- One of the two big mofo's were there today. And I was flat-bench pressing when one was doing incline. He came over to me and ask me for a spot, so I did. He was doing 335 for 5 reps on INCLINE. After he completed his final set, I said jokingly (kind of) "You really make everyone else in here look like bitches." He just laughed and thanked for me the spot -- which he didn't even need btw. Guys is just a brute.
Military Press
: 3x8

BB Curls : 3x8

DB Pec Flies : 3x8

Tricep Overhead Extensions
: 3x8

DB Shrugs : 3x10

Tricep Push down : 3x8

DB Shoulder Complex
: 3x3x12 -- use 15's

Intensity : (given the circumstances) 9 // 10

Thoughts: As this routine comes to a close, I honestly don't think I will have the gains from my previous routine. I can tell I've gotten stronger on bench, but not 30-40 lbs stronger like last routine. I honestly think that my burnouts from last routine were very beneficial. At the end of my old routine I would go straight to bench, rep out about 20 or so reps on 135 then straight into curls until I couldn't then directly into push-ups until I couldn't even support my body weight. I think this was very helpful. If I had to guess, my bench is probably right around 250 right now. I've also been plagued by not feeling as well lately which is unfortunate. We'll see. I max out all my lifts exactly a week from today so that's something to look forward to, then it's on to my new (and hopefully) better routine.


With that said, I am starting to notice my arms growing a bit and my chest is starting to come in as well. So hopefully I am on the right track.
 
dude, if your bench is 250, be very happy. that is some MONSTER gains for less than 1 year of lifting.
i really cant emphasize how big of a gain that is for less than a year of training.

Those gains are in 5 months time. I'll keep pumping them out. We'll see where I am at soon!
 
weighted in today at 159, I lost some weight but I believe this has something to do with me being sick so we'll see.


Didn't work out today... felt like ****. I'll get after the legs tomorrow granted I feel better.

Noteworthy: I still am sick but got my ass to the gym today to get a workout in.

Squats : 5x5

Dead Lifts : 5x5 just did 185 then 225 for 3 sets and last was only 255

Leg Curls : 3x8

Leg Extensions : 3x8

Calf Raises : 3x10

ran 5 miles today

Intensity: 8.5/10

Thoughts: I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired! Ugh, honestly though. I'm getting fed up with feeling like absolute ****. Hopefully i'll wake up feeling better tomorrow. I'm hitting arms tomorrow regardless. Also, for the first time in a while i was sore yesterday from the arms day before. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Thoughts:
it was a good workout. overall not overly demanding. I felt weak on bench today for some reason, retrogressed a tad. I've been so busy lately and have been under the weather I am just glad I am getting in the weight room still. Saw one of my friends at the rec today, he's been working out for a couple years. We decided we would work out with eachother on tuesdays and thursdays, his name is Ben. Did some lifts with him for the first tiem today(he outlifts me)

Pull ups: 3 sets of 10 - Slow with good form

DB curls : 3x10 -- 35's

Ran for about 5 miles today.

Intensity: 9//10

Going forward: My workout will essentially be,

Monday//Thursday- Upper
Tuesday//Friday- Lower
Wednesday- Basketball for an hour

Abs will be on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Running will be on Monday and Thursday may only be 3-5 miles.

Thoughts: Today was a good first day to my routine and I really do this routine helps my body respond more than the last. I will stick with this routine until February 14th. I did my maxouts on Sunday, 325 on Squat, 240 on Bench. I was somewhat pleased with these, not as high as I expected but still solid. I expect the bench to go up up these next few months. I'm really excited for this routine and will be consistent on this. Have a nice day everyone.

dude thats huge gains. you should reallythink about it in the long term. if you getgains like that consistantly, you will be a hulk in no time. even 20lb gain in bench A YEAR is great!

mark my words, you will look back somedy to your gains now and wish you could progress half as fast. : ]

Short term goals: 350 squat, 265 bench.

Noteworthy : Worked out from home today, didn't want to walk to the recreational center (it's really snowy out and i didn't have class). Also, because I worked out from home, I was very limited on what I could do today.

Squats : 3x10 - Last set was 225 x 10. Slow-low reps.

Deadlifts : 3x10 - Last set was 225 x 10 as well.

Calf-Rasies : 3x10 last set was 275 x 10.

Abs : 30 crunch x 3. Planks (all varietys) x 45 seconds for 3 sets.

Intensity : 7//10

Thoughts: Was a little put-off I didn't get to the rec today but oh well. Tomorrow will be my first Wednesday off since august. It will be basketball day. I'm looking forward to it. Also, I am going to use LOWer weight to work on form these first few weeks before I rev up the mass of my routine.

Right now, according to weather.com, it's 12 degrees out, feels like -7 and wind of up to 37 MPH... **** my life. This walk to school is going to be AWFUL.

Incline Bench (these are on smith machine) : 3x10 - Last set 185, my arms were SHOT.

BB Curls : 3x10

DB Pec Flies : 3x10 - 35's

Tricep Overhead Extensions : 3x10 - 50lbs

DB Shrugs : 3x10 - 75's

Tricep Push down : 3x10 - 110 to 130

DB Shoulder Complex : 3x3x12 -- use 15's

Pull ups: 3 sets of 10 - Slow with good form

*NEW* Cable Curls : 3x10 - 30 to 40 lbs single arm. May replace dumbbell curls.

Intensity: 8.5 // 10

Basketball and Ran a couple miles

Thoughts: Today was a pretty good arm workout. I went hard on flies to start my routine and was never able to regain my complete strength throughout my workout. Had to go down in weight on both benchs. Overall thought it felt good to get all of this done. It was hard to shoot a basketball after this workout, so that's a good sign haha. Anyways, Hope everyone else is having a fantastic day. I'm ready to work the legs tomorrow !
