Carbs
Hey Kaitie~ Miss Kallie is correct. Carbohydrates are the body’s supplier of energy. Carbohydrate comes in two forms, simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates are the sugars in foods such as sucrose (table sugar).
Complex carbohydrate includes both the starch and dietary fiber in foods.
Simple carbohydrates - have no nutritive value. These are the type of carbs that gives us quick lift and shortly after we feel tired again. These are the carbs we find in ice cream, cake, chips, white bread

. All the good stuff.
Complex carbohydrates - are more nutritious.
Foods high in complex carbohydrates are usually low in calories. Such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. They also are present in dairy products.
Daily caloric intake of carbohydrates should be between 55-60% (or 25-35 grams) with an emphasis on complex carbohydrates.
I found this link online that should help you determine how much carbs you need depending on how much exercise you do.
