Weight-Loss Team 1 Chat Thread

Weight-Loss
So I now have approximately 1650 calories per day leftover to Tues and I'm thinking I will try to refrain from eating rice and flour, sort of low carbish, to see if that doesn't get things moving? You constantly hear about some bodies not being able to metabolize carbs that well and insulin and stuff, so I'll try that for a few days, but keep within my calories too.

I've only worked out 45 minutes this week so I've got lots of making up over the next few days, as per the usual. I'll get in an hour today either on my home elliptical or at the gym using weights and cardio equipment. I would really like to try a yoga class this weekend at my gym so maybe I will look into their schedule. We shall see...

Let's kick it up team, we dont want to peeter out now!

Good for you Claud for wanting to try a yoga class:)!

That was me last week and trying to get back on it this week...

Claud we def need to do this agian, if your thinking in two weeks...maybe one of us can start a thread to just continue on even if it is just with the spread sheet exercise and weekly goals...

I will pm lovely and tlak to her...

It's been a tough week for me getting my exercise in, but I did get up and hit the gym before work this morning. I think I only have an hour in this week so far. Tomorrow should be no problem, but then Sunday and Monday to make up the rest. I don't know if I'll get it in this week. It's going to be close. :gnorsi:

Hey Teamies!!! I hope everybody is doing well this week so far. Relly, don't worry about yesterday, it is in the past now and just consider a "refeed". You got this in the bag hotness!!

Okay, I have a weird exercise to report yesterday. I was out running errands all morning. I had to drop my ride off at the bodyshop for over a week because a teenager rear-ended me on Christmas Eve and jacked up my bumper and exhaust system and totaled her grandma's minivan. That took 2 hours then I left my house key with the car keys so I had to drive all the way back to get them. By the time I finally got home it was the afternoon. I put B in her crib for her nap (never went to sleep) and had to clean the house as quickly as possible before she woke up. Sean was flying all evening so I didn't have time to go to the gym. Soooo, this is how I got an hour workout in. I strapped on my HR monitor and cleaned house at full speed with breaks for jumping jacks every few minutes to keep my HR up. I stayed within my fat burning HR for an entire hour while doing my "high intensity housework". LOL! I probably looked like a complete fool but who cares? I burned some friggin calories!!!!

I am not sure if I was eliminated or not, due to not checking in. We had a winter storm that knocked our power out this week. No power, no internet!!

I went to fill in the chart today, in the hopes that I am still in the challenge, but my name is no longer on it. I guess that answers my question about being eliminated.

Hmm, I would ask Claudia and explain the situation... I'm sure she will be willing to let you back in!

As for me today is a 0 for food, its Stephen's birthday so of course we celebrate with food. As usual I will eat lightly but I'm not even going to attempt to track my cals.

I'm going to start tracking my macros (as perscribed by Steve) and dropping my daily intake by about 200 cals or so. I'm really wanting to break this plateau that I'm in and I've got a whole new plan of attack!!! Hopefully these last 15-20 will come off SOON!

Hello Team 1. Hope you are all doing fantastic. Just wanted to check in with you to let you know that I am doing well with the eating and am a little behind in the exercise but I have a lot planned this weekend. I plan on going to bootcamp, long bike ride, long run, and yoga...that should tack on 4hrs just over the weekend. I am down this week too!! OOOUUU

I think the no drinking is helping. I'm so glad Alta and Valerie are doing this with me. I seriously feel a difference!!

I'm a busy bunny and afraid I can't get to as many diaries as I'd like! :nopity:

I read your recent updates and here and want to remind everyone that NOW is about the time where your body is gonna BACKLASH with ghrelin--after all your dieting accomplishments. If you've lost weight especially. Our bodies' HATE to lose weight from a "settling point" or basically the weight at which we tend to stick to if we're not trying to lose and we're not on a bender. Basically, you are probably gonna be very inclined to EAT more than you want. Now's the time to stay strong with your diet and plateau a bit before you drop more weight--don't give up!!!:smash: Especially YOU Cerella--you dropped weight and it was hard for you, now your body is like, "Awww funk dat, I'm gonna get that BACK" and it's not going to be easy to fight your hormones! :boxing: But you can do it.

I recommend drinking some green tea (or coffee, ick :p) and reading it ALL. Trust me, you're get a fresh perspective on the body. It starts at the bottom and the last post is the first, and it's on Steve's forum. I'm over there and so are a few of us, too. Lyle is a brilliant genius and Steve highly endorses him--and I listen to Steve because all his advice has helped me immensely in body-composition over the years--it's only my dumbass that doesn't follow through that has ever stopped me from getting my "dream body."

Give yourself a cheat day like I did. You can still lose weight (actually there's theories it helps aid weight loss) and get all your points for the week. Also, it allows leeway so you can be like "Ah, blessed Cheat Day!" and you don't HAVE to have one every week if you don't want to :)

Hey Team 1!

Just dropping in. I haven't been active on this forum much. I just have SO much going on IRL. I'm taking 16 units (over full-time), I work part-time as well, I've been studying for LSATs, looking at different law schools, AND working out. I just haven't had time to sit down on the computer. I'm sorry!

But I've kept up with the working out. I've done REALLY well with eating but today...was the first day I did absolutely horrific. I had chow mein, the processed kind. It like 600 cals by itself and had like 25g of fat. :x AND THEN I had like 4 slices of pizza. I just felt like a bottomless pit :x I cannot wait to get into the gym tomorrow and work this junk off.

My personal trainer is reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy pushing me to my limits. The session I had with him the other day was just...nuts. So I usually always do stairs, running up and down. We started out with an 8lb ball weight when I first started training. In my last session, he brought out a 23lb weight. SERIOUSLY?!?!?

OMGGGGGG so I had to take the stairs one at a time as fast as I could, up and down. Repeated that 3 times. Ran 1 lap. I had to run the lap in 23 seconds. Every second I went over, I had to do that many lunges with the 23lb weight. Then grabbed the weight and now I had to take the stairs 2 at a time, repeat that 3 times. Run 2 laps. I had 1 minute and 5 seconds. Again every second I went over, more lunges. THENNNNNNNN I had to do the stairs with the weight sideways, repeat that 3 times. Then run 3 laps.

Mannnnnnnn I thought I was going to die. Doing the stairs and lap is routine but the 23lb weight? TOTALLY UNNECESSARY! lol AND this was only the first 10 minutes of our session.

SO YEAH, I'm still kicking @$$ at the gym. Eating (aside from today) is sooooo good. I see myself craving fruits and reaching for the apples/bananas instead of the marble cake sitting right next to them (evil roomie).

ALRIGHT, I shall try to drop in sooner. I have midterms this week and the next so I am even busier then normal :x

We seem to be doing GREAT and are quite a bit ahead. GOOOO US! :)

Hey! Sorry I've been MIA on the spreadsheet and everything. I usually check this in the morning before work, but my laptop's power cord broke so I'm out of the loop. I had a pretty good week eating-wise...even won over a teacher-made buffet! Hooray!
I'm getting ready to catch up on exercise, though.
Hope everyone's having a great (and successful) weekend!

Hey, guys. I was just over at team two's chat thread and gave them a bit of advice that I think I need to bring right over here, too.

Just thought I'd also point out, Team one has 832 responses, and Team two has 455. Teamwork does help; especially with the lesser performing members. Look at the spread sheet and see who is falling behind and try to help motivate that person. It's not the stronger team members that will make the difference, but the motivating the weaker members to become stronger. :smash:

We need to do this, too. Check out the spread sheet and find out where we are slowing down. Help your fellow Tits. Give them support when needed. It might just be a little push here or a tweak there, but ... Sorry, I forgot where I was going with this. Oh, Go Team Tits!

Back on the stick! :smash: I just got in an 11 mile run followed by some walking. I'm calling that an hour and 45 min of cardio. How's that? :smash:

OMG!! I'm totally LMFAO. "Help your fellow Tits!!" "give them support", "push and tweak"...sorry..that was too funny. I'm in a silly mood.

I went to bootcamp this morning and got in a fantastic workout. Now I am going to go for a long bike ride with some hills. Tomorrow is Yoga. I'll get all my exercise points in this week fo sho!! If I can stay good on the eating for the rest of the weekend I should be down on the scale too.

Go Team 1!!! Rah, rah, rah!!!

Jess, that trainer sounds like a lunatic! :willy_nilly: I wonder if it's safe to run up stairs with 23 lbs????? Don't worry too much about your nutrition-flub, just keep truckin'!

Trops: HAHAHA!

Melissa: OOooh sounds great! Yo go you little Tri athlete!! See you tonight!

Me: Not a drop to drink and a healthy, 2000 calorie packed day yesterday with some Yoga 2 with Kelly. Next week I'm going to get more runs in, and also a weight training session or two :smash:

Hey Team!

Looks like we are doing great!!! Just wanted to congratulate everyone who's lost weight. Team 1 is kicking butt!

I'm glad to see the eliminations have begun! People better step it up! Including me!

Hope everyone has a great weigh in this Tuesday!! This challenge is in the final stretch. Time to bring the heat!!

I just finished 2 hours of cycling with some serious steep hills. At moments I was breathing so hard and moaning you would have thought I was having sex. hahaha...my cycling buddy is a coach at a local university and is helping me. Man did he kick my ass today. So after the hour of bootcamp I did this morning and then 2 hours of cycling I got my 100 points for the week. I still plan on doing yoga and a long run tomorrow. I will also exercise on Monday too.
