Summer: living life to the fullest

I second that.

Oh my knee is 100%. I didn't start weights again until it was because I would have made it worse. I started back with leg exercises (except for calves) and no weight or very little weight and I've been adding 5 pounds each time I do them. I'm watching for signs of knee buckling, and so far none! I've got quite a ways to go to get back up to my max weights again.

I haven't weighed myself for about 2 weeks! I've sort of switched to maintenence, which is a struggle. It's such a struggle because I want to say that I can eat bad foods now that I don't want to lose any more fat, but I know that's not right. I have no desire to just eat more clean foods, though I know that's the best thing!

My running is going well. My long run is up to 8.3-8.4 miles, and I'll go up to 9 soon. I'm taking a little 9 day break from weights right now. Hopefully I'll come back feeling nice and strong.

This weekend Bill and I are going camping waaaaaaaay out miles from any other poeple and then we're going to limb a very remote mountain. Looks like it should be a really nice weekend.

Enjoy your weekend. I've never been camping, so I'd like to do it at least once. Glad to hear that you're feeling much better. Keep eating clean and it'll all come out alright in the end.

Wow Sarah that sounds SOOOOO fun. My husband and I used to do camping trips like that constantly ....er...um..before kids..and more kids. I hope we can do it again soon. He has somewhat lost his adventure and recreational spirit but mine has gotten stronger. I think I drive him crazy :)
When is your half this month? SO awesome you are almost up to 9! Today is my long run and its at 7. I do most of my training on a treadmill because I live in a city with virtually no safe long roads to run :( its a challenge because its SO boring and way different than outside running when it comes to the real race. Anyway, have a blast on your hike and camping!

Thanks to both of you! OMG I could not run inside on the treadmill. A couple of times this summer when it was raining I did a 2 mile run on the tread and I thought I was going to die. It feels so much harder to run on the tread than outdoors. Sucks that there's no good place to run. I can'tr imagine having to worry about my safety running outside. My race is the last weekend of October.

I wanted to make a quick note before I take off that I officially lost the 8 pounds I was trying to lose. My caliper test came out to 14.7% body fat. I really need to start eating more in order to not drop lower! I still have some fat on my thighs that I'm not crazy about, but I have a 6 pack and my upper body looks so scrawny. I really don't want it to look any scrawnier! I just hold no fat in my upper body at all once I get down this low.

Congrats on your last 8. I've got 9 to go, then I make my goal of 170. Not sure what my next goal will be, but I have time to think about it.

Thanks!

Here's a new pic of me:

I'm totally redoing my website and that pic is going to be on the home page.

I start back to weights tomorrow. I'm thinking of changing my workouts around a little bit for something different, but I'm not sure. So hard to focus on weights in the summer. Maybe something totally different would keep me motivated!

Going out for a run in a bit...

Thanks!

I've been super busy with remodeling my website. It just got done last night! Huge improvement. There are a few pics of me on there, so check it out:

Workouts have been going well. I'm off to run 9 miles this morning.

Site looks good.

I totally dig the pic of you doing a pullup. That is one of my goals - to be able to do body weight pullups with no assistance (been using wt assisted mchn, and slowly reducing asst). I've never been able to do them, even as a kid.

Thanks everyone. :)

Doing well here. Friday I did my speed workout, which went better than they have been going. It was a total of 7 miles: 1 mile jog, 1 mile fast, .5 mile jog, 1 mile fast, .5 mile jog, 1 mile fast, 2 miles jog. My mile splits were 8:24, 8:42, 8:45. Speed is not my strong suit, but i'm working on it.

Yesterday hubby and I hiked all day. We volunteer to montior a section of the appalachain trail. It's a good section because it's ain a preserve, so there really isn't much misuse. It covers one entire mountain, so it's a challening hike. It was 9 miles long. It's a very beautiful hike with breathtaking views.

Had ice cream last night. And a drink. This morning I did a 2 mile jog and that's my monly workout for the day. I've got to do some PT stuff today and lots around the house. Our dryer died so I guess I'll be taking our clothes to my mother's to dry. What a pain!

Hey Sarah!

Hubby and I are going to start hiking! I love it! I am not sure why I haven't done it before! Hey - how many weeks do I have left?? I figure I'm all done, right?

*edited to say: have I told you lately how badly I want ur body?? Ok, that didn't come out right....Let me rephrase that. I want my body to look like your body.
