SPINNING MY WAY BACK 2 ME... by 40!

Roadblock Ahead!!! Need More Planning

Hubby's schedule is changing from second shift to first shift! Good news, he will be home with us in the evenings, bad news... I can no longer go to my 5:45 a.m. spinning classes because he will have to be at work at 6 a.m.! So I have the spinning class schedule in front of me... my goal is 3-4 spinning classes per week.... hmmmm........
ok OPTION #1: go to 5:30 classes in evening...
OPTION #2: Work out on Sat, and try to go at lunch- need to ask my supervisor if I can take 1.5 hour for lunch and stay 1/2 an hour later
OPTION #3 take 6:45 p.m. classes....maybe that will work out better.... I can go to work earlier...say 7am get off work around 3:30, spend time with my babies, eat dinner together around 5pm and hang out until 6:30 and return to my family by 8pm......put the babies to sleep... I think it will be hard to leave once I am home but we'll see....:confused: :confused:

MY DIET..........from yesterday and what's on the menu today...

Breakfast: 2 waffles- butter and lite syrup:(
Snack: apple
Lunch: chicken on 2 corn tortillas w/feta cheese (about 1 ounce)
Dinner: Picadillo (ground beef with tomatoes green olives onion etc) :) -no carbs
snack: piece of lemon cake :(
and one tablespoon of vanilla ice-cream!
oh and I had some lay chips (about 7):(

OK this will improve today..... I know I need to lay off the waffles and start eating my hard boiled egg in the mornings like I used to with some salsa...
TODAY I ATE:
breakfast: 2 waffles/butter/syrup
1/2 cup of coffee
snack: popcorn
LUNCH:chicken soup no noodles, just veggies in the chicken soup
snack:grapefruit
Dinner:SPinach/chicken salad
snack:dried fruit/mango
I am eating small portions for my lunch and dinner and trying to low carb the lunch and dinner meals as well..:

You're doing great. As for the waffles...what kind do you get? I get the Special K ones. They're 60cal,0fat,12carbs,2.5protein per waffle. And if you spread peanut butter on them you get more protein and it keeps me full until my midmorning snack and sometimes even beyond. But, either way you're doing wonderful, keep up the great work :)
 
destined2lose: I didn't know there were special K waffles... I will have to check them out! I don't think I am going to go to extremes with the waffles though... or carbs for that matter... I am just going to eat in moderation...

OK, so, lets see... what did I eat yesterday... hmmm I think I will just edit yesterdays consumption and do my meals today so far:

Breakfast: 1 corn tortilla, hard boiled egg, 1 ounce of cheese, salsa

SNACK: dried mango

LUNCH:bbq chicken salad

SNACK:mango, a couple of bites of mashed potatoe, and 3 potatoe chips... I know, not good but I am cutting back a lot...

DINNER: baked fish, spanish rice

no snacks at night!! YEAH!!!!

WATER: 10:30 only 16 ounces of water so far! Need to kick it up!! OK opened another water bottle...TOTAL OF ABOUT 80 ounces


Doing good on the food part of my plan (don't want to call it a diet... have an issue with that word.. ha ha
DID NOT WORK OUT TODAY!! ugh... that was hard to type... I didn't sleep well... I decided at 9pm I wanted to organize my scrapbooking stuff and before I knew it it was 10:30pm then hubby came home from work and I talked with him for a little while now it was 11pm I fell asleep and at 11:30 baby was crying... got up covered her up went back to sleep... 2am hubby snorring LOUD! turned him over and kicked the bed hard...:p 4am hubby snoring again... got my pillow and blanket and went to couch to sleep... OVERSLEPT and didn't make it to my class! Was grouchy! But I know my DH doesn't snore on purpose so how can I be mad at him??? Anyway.. the only solution is GET TO BED ON TIME 10pm and have my glass of wine before bed!! Isn't red wine supposed to be good for you anyways.... ?? ha ha it works for me so that is MY plan!

OK so the day isn't over yet, I could still get a mini workout as soon as I get off work right? OK PLAN is to do 30 minutes on my eliptical... I know it's going to be hot so I need to mentally just prepare for that and drink lots of cold water.... I am not going to be too hard on myself about missing my class this morning because my goal was 3 classes this week, WHEN I go tomorrow, that will be my 3rd class.... so YAY me! ha ha

Took my measurements this morning.... ugh dare I post them? Ok, here goes: chest 38, waist 38, hips 42, thighs 24, didn't do my arms... my goal would be to have a 36 inch chest, 30 inch waist, 38 inch hips, and 21 inch thighs... a size 6-8 would be nice....


HAVE TO WEIGH IN NEXT TUESDAY>>>>>> HOPE I LOSE SOMETHING!!!!!!!

ideal weight according to chart is: 136 pounds

Overweight 25.0 - 29.9
Obese 30 or above









GOAL: to go from overweight to normal... this requires me to weigh 140 or less! So if I set that as a short time goal.... I only have 29 pounds to lose! not much difference but makes me feel better! ha ha I just crack myself up!:D ;)
 
Yeah!! Met My Spinning Goal This Week!!!!!!!!!

YEAH! I met my spinning class goal for the week! I went to 3 classes this week and I burned approx 2000 calories just in my classes!! NOT TOO SHABBY! I must have lost a little bit in inches too because yesterday I wore some cute pants I was unable to put on a few weeks ago!! I feel great! ;) I went to bed at 10 last night, I feel well rested! I got up at 5:30 again... almost missed my class again! NEED TO SET ALARM!! ALSO, NEED TO BUY MY WINE TONIGHT!! So my class was awesome. I sweat so much today! I think I put in at least a 95% effort in my workout today. I felt like I was keeping up with everyone and then some. I didn't workout yesterday but that's ok... nothing I can do about it now... I do want to start adding in weights and stomach excersises... they say your stomach is the core of your body and should be strong...I need to work on this!!!:cool:

BREAKFAST: 2 corn tortillas, 1.5 ounces of cheese, salsa and one hard boiled egg. 2 16 ounces of water and 1 cup of coffee...

SNACK: mango- dried fruit

LUNCH: bean and cheese burrito (not so healthy BUT I took 1/2 the tortilla off and I didn't have any chips!

WATER FOR THE DAY: 10am - 32 ounces
12pm-32 ounces (have to drink water!! have not drank any since this morning!! NOT GOOD!
2:30-16 ounces- total of 48 ounces

Great Journal Ana! You have really motivated yourself and me too! I love that you eat tortillas everyday...a girl after my own heart! But I cut them out because I love them a little too much! When my Mom comes up here to visit me, my husband asks her to make her home made tortillas and it's so hard for me to resist!
You are my hero for taking spinning classes! I get muscle spasms in my back, so the one time I attempted it, I ended up side-lined for 2 weeks. It's all about tennis for me. I envy you the ability to take those classes. You go girl!
 
Congrats on making your Spinning goal for the week! I wish I had a spinning class in town ... I'd be there, trust me! Good luck this weekend ... keep your diary going, you are very inspiring!
 
You are doing so AWESOME!!!! Keep it up. I love the fact that you did not make an excise to not go to the gym. If you have to dump out fresh water for cold tab water then do so :D Have a WONDERFUL DAY and don't forget to drink your WATER :D
 
Feeling ok today... it will get better by noon

OK so wish me luck! This is kind of ridiculous, but I don't even feel guilty... I am leaving work for an "appointment" when in reality, I stayed up too late last night organizing my scrapbook stuff... needless to say after a long weekend, I did NOT go to my spinning class today... SO my "appointment" is with the GYM, there is a noon spinning class... I feel like a teenager playing hooky.. BUT I am not doing anything WRONG... I am just taking a spinning class!!! ha ha Oh and by the way, did I mention that the spinning classes that I have been taking are normally 45 minutes long and this one is 60 minutes!! YIKES... I am going to TRY my best to make it through the ENTIRE class... cross your fingers for me!!! PLEASE!!:eek:

This weekend...... well overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 regarding the eating... I can honestly say I did pretty well with the exception of yesterday I would rate myself doing about an "8" yesterday would be about a "6" (only because of the cookie dough...I ate pretty healthy the rest of the day) ... my daughter who is 2 1/2 years old wanted to make cookies... so I promised her we would... hoping she would forget... well she didn't... so we made chocolate chip with peanut butter morsels and walnuts... mmmm well I kind of had too much cookie dough and about 3 cookies... that is my confession... but I will burn some of it off today in my spinning class AND today tomorrow I weigh in.... please let me lose at least 1 or 2 pounds...
on June first I begin my pushups and situp goal:

50 situps per day and 20 pushups- military style per day... I know I can't do the pushups consecutively but I will meet my goals daily... I will do these excercises after work, before I pick up the kids...:eek:

Hey I Want To Try The Situp Goal With You I Dunno About The Pushups But I Will Try The Sit Ups If Ya Want To Challenge Each Other On Them Daily!!! LET ME KNOW IF YA DO!

OK... SO I accepted my first challenge... sit-ups and pushups... starting tomorrow...

Yesterday, I had an awesome spinning class. It was my first time taking a noon class... it kicked my booty. I hung in there though... I thought it was a one hour class but luckily for me, it was only 45 minutes. It was tough going in the middle of the day but I didn't want to start the week off on a bad note so I decided to take a break from work and stay a little later to make up my time.. it was very worth it! I was so proud of myself. I need to cut out some of my bad eating habits...!!!

YESTERDAY:

BREAKFAST: ONE EGG, SALSA, CHEESE, CORN TORTILLA

SNACK:ONE MACADAMIA NUT CHOCOLATE CANDY!:mad: IT WAS REALLY SMALL LIKE ONE INCH WIDE BUT IT WAS GOOD! DO THE NUTS COUNT AS ANYTHING? HA HA

LUNCH: ORDERED A 24 OUNCE FRUIT SMOOTHIE BUT ONLY DRANK A LITTLE OVER HALF AND I DUMPED THE REST OUT, AND HALF A TURKEY, BACON AND CHEESE SANDWICH...

SNACK: TORTILLA CHIPS (ABOUT 10 WITH SALSA), 2 CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

DINNER: SPINACH/CHICKEN SALAD WITH ALMONDS, HARD BOILED EGG, CORN AND KIDNEY BEANS, WITH BALSAMIC VINEGAR AND OLIVE OIL DRESSING

SNACK: COOKIE! GOTTA HAVE MORE WILLPOWER!! I MUST BE PMS'ING...???YEP JUST LOOKED ON THE CALENDAR... THAT'S WHAT IT IS...

WATER INTAKE: APPROX 100 OUNCES OF WATER:D


TODAY I ACTUALLY GOT UP IN TIME FOR MY 5:45 SPINNING CLASS! Yeah me!! Got there just in time but OH NO! NO BIKES! then I saw one loneley bike with a bag next to it and this girl was saving the bike for her friend, I assume, and I asked if the bike was taken and she said "uh .... you can go ahead and have it" like she was doing me a favor........hello? no saving! We aren't in grade school here! only problem, the bike was smack in front of the instructor:cool: YIKES I had to really try my best and I did well... it was tough though.. gave me an extra push I needed

OK SO SORRY IF TMI but this is just an observation I have made of the instructors and really fit students/people in the spinning classes: they all sweat, I mean like A LOT! on their arms, legs, backs of course from the head but I just thought to myself........hmmmm maybe when I get in better shape, I too will sweat more and lose more fat... I guess that is what that means...?? Any insight anyone? Anyways I made that observation about a month ago when I first started spinning........GUESS WHAT?? MY arms sweat today, like theirs!! ha ha I am a dork, I know!!:D

ok my food intake today:

BREAKFAST: HARD BOILED EGG, CHEESE, SALSA AND ABOUT 2 OUNCES OF LEFTOVER STEAK IN A CORN TORTILLA
SO FAR: 52 OUNCES OF WATER AND 3/4 c. OF COFFEE

SNACK:

LUNCH: MASHED POTATOES AND GRILLED CHICKEN

SNACK:

DINNER: BAKED CURRY CHICKEN AND STIR FRY VEGGIES... DOESN'T SOUND GOOD TOGETHER... BUT THAT'S WHAT IS ON THE MENU!;)
 
Good job so far today! I wish I could blame my bad eating habits on PMS'ing but unfortunately I have no excuse ... ugh!

I have noticed that too about really fit people ... maybe we just think they sweat more cuz we want to be like them? I do not know. When I used to be "in shape" and was running every day I think I used to sweat more but I'm not sure. And on all of the workout videos ... they're always sweating bullets. I thought that was from the lights but maybe not.

Well for me, when I was more in shape...I sweated more...but I also worked myself a lot harder...haha. :eek: Oops! Not too sure about the technical science of it all though. Could be true!

Anyways, it sounds like you are doing GREAT, keep at it. You will get there. :)

We have pretty similar loss goals...we can do it!

I am almost done with work for the day... getting a little sleepy! Gotta get to bed on time tonight! I know, story of my life! I heard a story on the news last night that people who don't get at least 7 hours of sleep per night are more likely to gain weight over time.... hello? Thats ME!:eek:

WEIGH IN IS TOMORROW!! I counted how many days I worked out this month (including the 2 weeks I took off when my babies were sick) and I worked out 11 days! Workouts consisted of 2 mile walks (twice), 8 spinning classes, and one 32 minute eliptical machine workout... thats an average of 3.75 workouts a week... NEW GOAL FOR JUNE:

my new goal for JUNE is to get an average of 4-5 workouts per week! Plus my situps and pushups!!!

I am not complaining...just adjusting!

Ok, so DH started his new work schedule yesterday -6/1/06 ... it's been a tough 2 mornings...

I NOW have to get up at 5a.m. get ready for work before my babies get up at 6, get them ready and take them to daycare by 7 a.m. - 7:30 am... NO SPINNING IN THE MORNINGS ANYMORE :mad:

BUT.... I was very proud of myself... yesterday, I went to a noon spin class, it seems tougher for me to exercise in the middle of the day... it's just so rushed, but hey! What can I do? DH understands how important it is for me to go to the gym and he has agreed to try to change his start time from 6a.m to 7 a.m. and take the girls to daycare twice a week. So that way, I can take SPINNING classes in the morning two times a week and then on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I will take my classes at lunch. Maybe I can do my weights on Mondays and Wednesdays at lunchtime or after work since I am getting to work earlier... OR another option would be doing the weight training after the girls go to bed at night...around 8:30 hmmmm???? I will have to think about that...

I DID NOT MEET MY GOAL THIS WEEK... MY GOAL WAS TO SPIN 4 TIMES... I WENT 3 TIMES... BUT, IF I GO SATURDAY MORNING- TOMORROW I COULD MEET MY GOAL... SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA!!!

MY JEANS FEEL BETTER, I PUT 2 PAIRS OF PANTS ON THAT DIDN'T FIT BEFORE AND NOW DO... I THINK I WILL JUST MEASURE MYSELF FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

DINNER: 2 AVOCADO ROLLS, CALAMARI, AND A PIECE OF CHICKEN- OH DID I MENTION 2 WASHINGTON APPLE MARTINI'S? I WENT TO HAPPY HOUR WITH 4 OF MY GIRLFRIENDS LAST NIGHT... DIDN'T EAT THE NACHOS THOUGH... I TRIED SUGGESTING A COUPLE OF HEALTHIER APPETIZERS...
