Sorridere's Journey

from the pics you posted you have nothing to worry about when it comes to self esteem.

I just started doing walking lunges again in my latest routine. They kick ass big time. I'm getting used to them now though. Almost time to switch it up.

Keep up the good work!

I was just getting used to the walking lunges then I took the week off and when I did them Thursday I felt ok, but Friday my butt and my legs hurt so bad! I felt like I was starting over again. I hope I'll have time for a run today, I have been so busy I just have not had time to exercise which is really not good because I had to weigh in and measure today and it was not pretty. I didn't get the pics taken yet, but I'll post the rest.

Arms: 11.25
Chest: 35
Waist: 34.5
Butt: 41
Thighs: 24.5
141lbs
So I gained 2lbs, 1/2in on waist, 1/4 in on chest, butt, and legs. I'm not very happy with myself, but I knew it was going to happen because I ate a lot of crappy food and haven't had time to workout in the past 2 weeks. But this is a new month, gotta start things off better! I know I'll lose weight on our vacation, that's the most exicting part about it for me!

Things aren't going very well with exercising right now. There needs to be more hours in the day! I can't find anytime to workout. I have been getting up at 530 and I'm busy the whole day and sometimes I don't have time to stop until 10 at night. I'm exhasted and I NEED my workouts! I'm feeling lazy and fat and my numbers showed it. I'm glad my vacation is Monday. It will definitly help me lose weight. I've been planning on working out in the evening but something always comes up and I don't get home until 9 or 10. I am hoping to lift lower body tonight then get up early and run tomorrow. Hopefully I can get my butt out of bed. :)

I got drafted in the lottery thing with Marker. Hopefully she can provide some motivation. The draft thing is so confusing. I got drafted, now what?

enjoy your vacation. did you say you were going to the Boundary waters?

You gotta make time for fitness. make it a priority do it!!!!

Yeah we're going to the boundary waters. We will be canoeing and camping and carrying everything inbetween ports so no campers or coolers or stuff like that! I think it'll be fun. And there is no way I can gain any weight on this trip because we can't take any bad food with us, however we can't take any fruit or veges with us either :( I guess we're eating dehydrated food and lots of fish. It should be a good bonding trip because my parents and my sister and her husband and my other sister and her bf are all going, and it will be an 11 hour car ride up there! The only sad thing is that I have to leave my dog at home. He starves himself when we are not there so I'm worried about him.

I finally worked out last night! Yea! I was so exicited and had tons of energy after I lifted last night. It felt great! I forgot how much better I feel after I work out.

I didn't use any machines Stingo!

Burpees 10
Squats 20lbs 10
Stair jumps 10
Deadlifts 20lbs 10
Mountian climbers 25 per leg
Walking lunges 20lbs 10
Plank 1 min

I did this 3 times through. I thought I would be sore this morning and not be able to get out of bed to run, but I wasn't sore at all! Of course that ruined my excuse to not run, so I went out and ran 1 mile this morning then walked 1/4 mile and ran the remaining 3/4 mile back home. I was really happy with myself. I didn't think I would be able to run the whole mile without stopping after taking 2 weeks off, but I did, and it felt great. I love how I feel a great sense of accomplishment after exercising in the morning, I feel like I've got something done before the day starts. Ok enough rambling. :)

Good workout there - I find circuit training takes a certain mental fortitude to get through it (especially as I'm doing a circuit workout again).

Finally back from vacation! It was great! We didn't workout as much as I had hoped, but I was in good enough shape when we did the portages and canoeing that my traps hurt just a little right after from carrying the packs, but my legs and arms didn't hurt at all and I felt fine the next day without any stretching. It wasn't the kind of workout I was use to, but it felt great get away from the world for a week. The lake we camped on you could only get to by canoeing and hiking, so we didn't see very many other people and no motor boats, radios, or tvs. It was beautiful scenery and great fishing one day. The rest of the days we didn't catch anything. We caught a lot of small mouth bass and I caught 2 walleyes.

Wow, the past 2 weeks have been so busy! I've only had time to lift twice and I haven't even had time to post them on here. We moved our office across town last week, so reorganizing and trying to catch up on work has taken up my time that I am usually on here. I only work 3 days a week, and I haven't been home on my 2 days off since before July! My husband has been filling in driving a semi a lot lately and any chance I get I go with him. So a lot of sitting and not much exercising. But it has given me time to read my magazines and the last fitness magazine I read inspired me to get back in the habbit of making exercise a priority. Also I read about Sparrow's race this morning and that made me want to get outside and run so badly! Thanks Sparrow for the motivation. It's a beautiful day out today, so I walked 2 blocks to Subway for lunch and I will definitly go for a run tonight.

Hi.. whats your goals here at fitness.com?

Good luck in your quest!!
shaun

Shaun,
I come here for motivation and advice. I've been getting back into exercising, I am trying to become a better runner, gain muscle definition, and maybe someday look like the fitness models.

Today I got up and ran 1st thing! I am so happy with myself :) I didn't run much but it was a start. I ran 3/4 mile at 9:20 m/m. By then my lungs gave out on me so I walked a 1/4 mile then ran 1/2 mile back at 11 m/m walked 1/4 mile and ran the last 1/4 mile back home at 11 m/m pace again. I felt like my legs could go forever, they felt great, but I am going to have to work on getting my stamina back.

Who's my good girl? :D

You'll be back where you were before you know it. If you aren't already (and it's all in your head). :)

Our state fair is going on right now, so I have been walking around there a lot (5 hrs Sat, 2 hrs Mon night, and 5 hrs yesterday). But I have been eating a lot of crappy food there too, so I have got to start working out again! Tonight I am planning on running. I'll let you know how it goes!

I only ran a mile last night. My stomach was revolting against me from fair food. I was in quite a bit of pain, but I pushed through it and ran the 1st 3/4 mile at a 10m/m pace and the last quarter at a 8m/m pace. I couldn't get myself to relax at all. I felt so tensed up. But I forced myself to do something, which is better than sitting on the couch all night.

I took pics again today, but I forgot to measure, so I'll do that tommorrow morning. I tried to upload them from photobucket, but it kept giving me errors.

Last night I did my lower body lifting. My stomach still hurt so I decided to skip the stair jumps and burpees.

Squats 20lbs on bar (btw my bar is some little dinky thing that weighs 5-10lbs)
10 pushups (real ones, never could figure out how the girly ones work :) )
Deadlifts 20lbs on bar
10 V ups
Walking lunges 10 w/ 10lb dumbell in each hand
30 mountian climbers

I repeated this 3 times

Today:
I went for a run this morning. Stomach STILL upset! I feel ok until I start working out, then it feels like it is tied in knots and like its being wringed out. I wish it would go away!

Run: ran 1 mile in 9:45 then walked 6 min and ran the mile back. It took the longest 10 min ever to get back, I wanted to stop and walk before I even got a 1/4 mile! But I pushed through it and felt so much better mentally that I was able to do it. I've always told myself that if I give up when I'm down, I'll never get any better.

I just got done with my upper body lifting routine. I realized I hadn't done it in a month and a 1/2.

Machine:
Bench press: 40lbs
Lat Pull down: 50lbs
Pec dec fly: 50lbs
Seated row: 40lbs
Shoulder press: 30lbs
Tricept push down: 40lbs

Dumbells:
Curls: 10lbs per arm
Tricept extension (both arms together) 10lbs per arm
Side raise: 5lbs per arm
Tricept extension (one arm at a time) 5lbs per arm
Front arm raise: 5lbs per arm
Shrugs: 25lbs per arm (one arm at at time)
Bent over one arm row: 25lbs

I repeated this twice, 1st time through I lowered weight 10lbs on machine, and 5lbs with dumbells on shrugs and bent over row.

My muscles feel great now! I can't believe I slacked on this for so long.

I took Saturday as my rest day. My muscles hurt so bad I didn't think I would be able to do a workout. So I lifted lower body Sunday.

Squats 12 bar w/ 20lbs
Stiff Leg dead lift 12 bar w/20lbs
Walking lunges 12 w/ 2 10lb dumbells
On Machine: Laying Hamstring curl 40lbs
On Machine: Seated leg curl 60lbs
Side lunges 6 per leg alternating legs w/ 2 10lb dumbells

In between each exercise I did one of the following:
10 burpees
10 stair jumps
50 mountain climbers
10 v ups

I did this workout in the morning and my legs felt great all day. But this morning they were a little tight when I went for my run, and now they hurt like they did on Saturday. After my workout tonight I think I will go for a long walk and a soak in a hot bath. Hopefully that will help.

I finally got up early and ran this morning! I was moving really slow, so I decided I would go for a certain amount of time instead of distance. I ran 11 min, then walked 5, then ran 12 min back. The whole time I ran at a 10 m/m pace, so I was happy with it. Today I have been starving the whole day. Is that because I exercised in the morning? I ate a slice of ww bread with pb on it before I ran and a 2 egg omlet w/ turkey, cheese, and tomato after. Then I was starving an hour later, so I ate a banana. Then I munched on almonds until lunch where I ate a turkey, cheese and tomato sandwich on wwb and a yogurt. Normally just a sandwich fills me up. Now I'm eating grapes.

I'm looking forward to tonight's workout. Lifting upper body and walking my dog.

Almost forgot - I am still trying to figure out how to get the pics over here from photobucket. My work computer closes the page as soon as I try to resize them, so I'll try again on my computer at home. It's really slow though. It took an hour just to get 4 pics off my camera to photobucket. Also, I took my measurements Saturday morning, but I don't have them with me to post.
