Skinny Jeans

LOL CCR. I must admit I do like the relaxed fit on men rather than tight. Although if you're into the Emu look, then that's a different story. I'm not into they Emu look LOL.

I have a confession to make. I really don't get or understand fashion. I wear dress pants, button down dress shirt, and a jacket on weekdays, nice but not dress pants, and a nice shirt on the weekends. That's about as far as fashion goes for me lol

yeah, you aren't missing much...

Well, I admit that I LOVE my skinny jeans. PERSONALLY, I think they look sexy as hell with a pair 4 inch stiletos. The pictures you posted are basicaly what I dress like on weekends/casual Friday's-including the boots over the skinny jeans in the winter.

But then again that is my style-my opinion. I wear heels everywhere, I'm one of those people who was born with heels on LOL. On weekends I wear wedged sandals, I only own TWO pairs of flipflops which I wear around the house and 2 pairs of running shoes for the gym.

I'm also into the high waisted skirt/tight white blouse look or the 40s inspired dresses with the belt at the waist.

i totally agree that skinny jeans look super hot with stiletos! and, i give you mad props for wearing heals everywhere. you must have feet of steel!

i also like high-waisted skirts. i have a few that i bought in Asia 6 years ago but when i came back to the US, they were soooo out of style, that i just packed them away. i'm so glad that i can bust them out again. with my recent weight loss, they finally fit again, too. yay!

otherwise, do you like high wasted pants? if so, do prefer a wide leg or a skinny jean?

(just kidding with that last one! LOL! baby got back.)

right now i'm wearing mens lounge shorts and a tank top. am I stylish? lololol

what are lounge shorts??? lol.

(CCR...ROTFL!)

Aeonteal you kill me! That last one makes her ass look like it's 2 feet tall LOL.

I'm torn with high waisted pants, slacks maybe and they have to be more like the sailor style like in the 40s, you know which ones I mean? I'm such nerd I love the 20s - 50's style (modernized)

I've worn high waisted skirts on and off, even when they're not in style :eek2:

To quote Julia Roberts on Erin Brockovich:

"I think I look nice, and as long as I have one ass instead of two I'll wear what I want" LOL

by the way, the key to wearing stiletos all day (band aids) I wear them on all my toes! And I buy expensive shoes so that they're really comfortable. I do NOT want corns or bunions (sp)!!!!

yeah, the double ass quote is right on! haha...the one thing i know for sure is that i really, really hope that the two-foot-tall ass "look" does NOT make a comeback. once in a lifetime is enough! i mean, damn.

and, i don't know too much about 20-50's style but i think i have the general idea and it's nice! you are not a nerd at all. it's elegant and if you can rock it, more power to you. btw, do you like finger waves?

and can't believe you wear band aids on ALL your toes. that actually makes so much sense. why not go all the way! hehe. but how many are you using every week? you must be making costco runs for those? j/k :). but, speaking of band aids on the feet -- have you tried those liquid band aids? do they work?

Here's kind-a what I mean...modern but with retro styles:

LOL, you gotta love the boldness (Erin Brockovich). Yeah, those high waisted jeans are a def. NO! Does nothing for the figure, even a nice one.

Ok, on the bandaids, I have to admit I don't wear them every day, only when I wear pointed heels. On peep toe I only have to wear them on my big toe, really on the pressure points. And when I wear boots there is not need cuz I wear socks...but because there's a dress code here at work and 'office appropriate' shoes is a must I make them buy them. Our Health and Safety guy just keeps me stocked which keeps me happy and within the dress code LOL.

Ok, mental block...uh, what are finger waves? Hair right? If it is I love them but my hair is way too long, down the the bra strap. But I do wear my signature red lipstick almost every day LOL, little make up everywhere else.

God we sound like mindless idiots! I really AM smart, as well as fashion conscious, honestly!

LOL, Sarah, it scares me too!! There's nothing wrong with comfort and loathing the triviality of shopping.

I'll even go as far as saying that I sacrifice comfort for the sake of dressing in what I consider to be the 'classic look' (for work).

But I've been like that since I can remember, when we were little kids we used to play that we were models and Ms. America (now THAT'S scary ).

I remeber once, when I was 'walking' I got mad at my cousin because when she was describing me ensamble, she also described the huge scrape I had on my leg from when I had previously fallen :yelrotflmao:

lol.. i'm with you sara... i go for comfort.. i dress on occasion, but for the most part.. i want to be comfortable.

i do have a shoe addiction.. but it's sneakers. i think i have 3 pairs of heels.. and probably from 25-30 pair of sneakers.

I don't dress up hardly at all. Doing what I do, it makes no sense. Generally, I will wear bootcut jeans, but being short, straight leg jeans work better for me. I do have one pair of straight leg, but they are hard to find. I did buy some "classic fit" jeans this week, so I will have to check to see how they fit. And unless I'm going out and want to look a little more dressed up, I will wear sneakers. Otherwise, I will wear black shoes with a 3" heel.

I used to be boring and plain, but then I started wondering why I wasn't getting much male attention or positive attention form other females. I transformed my wardrobe and people treat me a lot better now. It's kind of sad that that's the way it is, but if that's what works, then I'll do it. I generally wear nice boot-cut jeans, boots with a 4" heel and a nice top. I used to not care at all how I looked. People treated me like crap when I did that. Now I get treated with much more respect. I wish the world were different, but that's just the way it is. I'm the same person, I just look a little nicer.

I have always had to look "good" when I go out. Whether it's to the store or out on a date with hubby. It's just the way it is. Even when I was little, I would wear a skirt or dress to the grocery store. LOL

Derwyddon, I don't think that sounds dumpy at all. That sounds very professional. :)

Spicy, that's interesting, but I also think it has to do with our society and what we think is "acceptable". Everyone should just be comfortable dressing the way they want. Some people don't care. I'm not one of them.

i spent several years wearing really dumpy clothes, but not because dressing up was a chore. i gained a lot of weight when i started grad school and instead of taking care of myself, i just covered up with bigger and bigger clothes until i looked like a blob in all my pictures. (damn that draft beer! :beerchug:)

i've lost some weight and it's amazing what losing 15-20 pounds did for my confidence, inside and out. i actually love to having the option of dressing up. before, when i gained all the weight, i thought the "lowkey" (aka "dumpy" in my case) look was my personal style and in one sense it was because i chose to stay out of shape so i dealt with that by taking on a sloppy look. in reality, there were so many things that i'd shy away from because of my gut! styles that i liked but was NOT gonna try to squeeze into! but now, i don't really have that problem and i gotta admit, while the external the attention is nice it just feels good to have options and to feel healthy and sexy. it seems as though my new confidence level gets more attention than my skinny jeans because i walk around with my head held high, better posture, my skin looks better and i'm more confident when i speak with people. i feel just as sexy when i leave the house with no make-up, flip-flops and hair in a ponytail as when i get all decked out in the skinny jeans and high heals/make-up. and...i feel like i get the same amount of attention from people.

i dunno...i'm probably totally delusional!

It's a sad truth, but that's the way it is. And not just in our society. In all societies, the standards of beauty/accepetable dress will change but not the attitude towards it.

I find that people ARE nicer and more attentive when I'm dressed nicer than when I go out hair up (not done) in jeans/t-shirt/flip flops. and not just from males but from females as well. It's like they take you (more) seriously.

That's not why I chose to dress the way I do though, I guess for me the positive reaction is just a bonus. I like to take care of myself, feelgood about myself.

I'm all about getting my hair done-nicely cut and styled. Getting manicures/pedicures. I wear clothes that are becoming to my assets and will hide my flaws not just what's in style--I won't wear something simply because everyone else is but I do keep up with some trends (skinny jeans for example). I also have stuck with very classic looks that always work.

Like Sara said, you don't want to look like crap when someone comes over and wants to take you out or you have to go out on the spur of the moment. But for me getting ready isn't a chore either :)

For me getting ready is only a chore because I find it hard to decide what to wear. I have to look "just right", so often times it takes quite a while (sometimes - like when I worked in an office - as long as a half hour! ). But I don't think of it as a chore in the sense that I dont' want to. I don't wear make up, only eye stuff, and I always shower and dress the minute the boys are on the bus, so there is no way to catch me undressed during the day. I can go out on a moment's notice.

i hear ya. i wake up every morning, take a shower, fix my hair, put my contacts in, and put a little (i never wear much) make-up on... if i dont, i feel like crap all day. i may do that, then throw on some capri's, a fitting t shirt, and some matching nike's and go to walmart where ove 50% of the people are in their pj's, house-shoes, and havent touched a comb to their hair.
I may not be "dressed up" but i feel great.

When I try to look nice, I wear a more fitted or dressy top and nicer jeans with some sort of high heeled shoe. I'll top it off with a nice neclace, and a very small amount of makeup. I don't like the makeup because it's a huge hassle. Putting it on is no big problem, it's taking it off. It takes forever.
