I feel exhausted right now, I was at the hospital until 2:30 am with little miss who had bad vomiting. I needed to pick her up early from childcare yesterday because she spewed a couple of times after lunch. At home she could not even keep a sip of water down, took her to the hospital when it was obvious she was not improving and was very lethargic with dry retching and had not peed since that morning. At the hospital her blood sugar was low, and ketones elevated. they gave her the anti nausea medication and slowly rehydrating her. at 2:30 she still had not been able to pee and the doc was 50/50 about admitting her for further observation, eventually was allowed home on the proviso that if she vomited again or did not pee in the next 12 hours we would take her straight back in. The good news this morning she is drinking this morning and had a successful trip to the bathroom. she is still probably a bit dehydrated but looking much better, certainly better than my sleep deprived body feels right now .

Tonight either hubby or I need to drive to Brisbane to pick up R from the airport, little miss is very much looking forward to having her brother visit. He will be here for a week. At the end of the month L will be visiting as well, she doesn't like her eldest brother.

That must have been quite a scare, Tru. R lost half his body weight overnight, with gastro, when he was a baby & we came close to losing him. I had taken him to our GP who said to give him water on a teaspoon as often as I could, but next day he was falling asleep while I was shaking a rattle & I rang the doctor who told me to get him to the children’s hospital quickly. He was on a drip for a day & a half. It was so scary!
They mend quickly thank goodness xo

you have just got to smile about some things little kids say.

this morning little miss said she gave daddy the stomach bug because she didn't want it anymore. This afternoon having given it to both myself and hubby she turned to her big brother R and offered to give it to him too.

At lunch time she was asked to check for cutlery in her brothers room to go in the dishwasher, normally a job she likes to do, today she said "I don't want to do it, ask somebody else" lol, then she went into her brother Ds room and said "do you want to do my job".

Just now we have a carpet snake stretched out on the verandah and she looks at the 2 metre snake and tells us it is "just a little one" and offers to take her brother R to go and look at Daria.

:rotflmao: From the mouth of babes... I hope she doesn't infect her brothers though! Are you and your husband ok?

hubby has the runs, I am queasy and have been all day, but no vomiting yet. Have not eaten all day. Feeling really bad, just want to get over it.

The smaller snake had a series of cuts on it;s body, shared the photo with local snake catcher who said it was a male and the cuts were from it fighting another male.

I was running a 39 degree fever last night, it has dropped a little this morning but I feel weak and drained. little misses brother D will take her into childcare as she is back to being her bubbly self and I don't want to spread this bug around. I have an exam at 1 this arvo, I just have to pull myself together enough to survive the 2 hours. Al least the exam is online and I won't be spreading this bug to a tightly packed exam hall.

Made it through exam despite the internet dropping out on question 7

R now has the bug as well, not good as it is his birthday today.

coaching this morning, then 6 hours of driving to get R to the airport and back home. But I feel bad for the drama happening at the local airfield at the moment, those in Aus will have seen it on TV, speculation is that one or both pilots did not use their radio to avoid airfield landing fees before they collided head on in the air.

I don't ever watch daytime TV so hadn't heard. I just had a quick look online. You must be so tired after 6 hours of driving, Tru. I don't know how you do it really.
