Friday 1600 calories and almost 12.5k steps. Need to start back with the weights really but they are buried under xmas presents at the moment. Just a few more days until I can see them again lol.

Received some gifts off friends today; predictably one is easily identifiable as a big fat chocolate bar. It's the thought that counts, but that's one to be passed on elsewhere already.

Just a quick log for Saturday. Calories around 1700 and steps just over 9,000

You could try lifting presents instead of weights...
I guess I could... but I'm so bad at wrapping I'd probably end up bringing the paper off and having to start over lol

Almost 15.5k steps today (was planning ahead to compensate for not many tomorrow lol) and 1900 calories. Just noticed a new low on the resting heart rate so I'm either a little fitter or a bit more chilled today haha!

Hope everyone has a very good Christmas :)

Just dropping in quickly to record yesterday and today...

Calories, erm, lots. I think only about 3000 yesterday but probably more today, around 3500. Not even going to try and accurately calculate them tho :santa:

Steps: managed just over 6000 yesterday thanks to a brief walk to pop's and back. Today I tried to burn off the extra calories with a 2 and a half hour walk, got up to just shy of 19000 steps for the day :)

Ho Ho Hope you all had a good xmas. Back to work for me in the morning so I'll try and catch up on some diaries tomorrow

Well done Stan on 19,000 steps! The forum is a bit quiet at the moment so it won't take long to catch up.

Two days of controlled overeating won´t set you back far. 3,500 calories sounds like a lot but it´s really easy to go up to 5,000 or more on feast days.

It's been a bit of a struggle to keep the calories down on some days this week, I've really felt very hungry at times. Only had one pig day though in the end and because I've got rid of all the naughty food I ended up having to feast on food that wasn't all that bad

Bit up and down with the walking but I've hit my 70k steps for the week earlier today. I'll post my fitbit charts in a short while, my knackered old PC won't let me so I have to log on to my chromebook for that lol. Yesterdays steps were 10500ish, most of which were up a steep hill and back, mostly done in the rain. The hill is just over 400m elevation and it normally hurts a bit to walk up, but yesterday I had bags of energy left and wouldn't say I was even out of breath - I was even having to wait for everyone else to catch up and they're all half my weight or less.

Other news: Found some trousers on my shelf I forgot I'd bought that are 4 inches slimmer than my others (these are a 42 compared to my usual 46, although I could squeeze into a 44 sometimes). I got them about 18 months ago when I needed a pair but they were the biggest pair in any of my local shops so bought them out of desperation really. They didn't fit so on the shelf they went and were forgotten about. Anyway, found and tried them on yesterday and... well, I need to wear a belt with them to keep them up. I also have a pair of jeans in a 40 that are quite comfortable. I'm well happy with that  But I'm also puzzled as to why I have the jeans lol, I don't remember buying them!

That´s amazing progress! Also:  for the unexpected jeans :) You´re already beating the January first crowd by a mile and a half.

Happy New Year & well done Stan! That is great progress & you do have a head start. Soon you'll be in the 30's jeans-wise :)

Happy New Year Stan! Hope this year brings you much happiness, and maybe even some love :D

That's awesome on the pants! I bet it felt great to put them on and discover you needed a belt. I have bought clothes before and forgot about them. Some will even still have tags on!!

Thanks ladies :)

Terrible day for steps as I've spent the day at my desk working on an assignment. Think the whole of this week will be pretty much the same too... unless I finish it, or get so fed up with it I go out lol. The following week will be all about the steps though, got a week off work with nothing I need to do

Getting some short walks in while you´re working on your assignment might even make you more productive. But that may just be my personal experience.

A week off work will be excellent :D
Taking short walks in the fresh air might just help you finish your assignment quicker. Maybe do some squats or jack jumps?

Managed almost 9k steps today around campus, so way better than expected. But tomorrow I'm at home all day so I'm planning to get some fresh air once the worst of this storm we're due has blown over.

Myfitnesspal seems to have stopped working so a little difficult to gauge calories; but I think around 2200 today.

Huh ... MFP is working for me ...

Are you getting snow? It has been VERY cold here. Like, record breaking cold. Our pipes froze this morning. Very strange. I live in the south and I'm not used to this winter stuff. :rotflmao:

It's working again now :) MFP was saying earlier there was an error connecting to the database... or something like that.

Not got snow, but the winds are very high and plenty of rain. Storm Eleanor is blowing us around a bit - and I'm nowhere near the worst areas. It's bad enough to keep me awake at 1am anyway, and I can hear some alarms going off in the distance too.

My uncle lives near Chicago and posted some pics of the cold weather last week, then we saw pics on the news of some 6 feet deep snowfalls (Minnesota I think it was). My US geography isn't all that good tbh, but I'm guessing they're all much more northerly and used to that kind of weather than you are lol

I've never been so cold in my life as when I visited Chicago in Feb a few years back. I grew up on the Canadian border, so I've been around lots of snow, but it was nothing compared to the Chicago cold. That wind coming off the lake is so cold you feel like your bones will break!

Haven't lived up north in 20 years so I'm just not acclimated to this weather at all.

Wind over water is the worst for freezing you solid. I´m guessing MFP had a great big January 1st influx and is having trouble dealing. Will be over in ten days tops.
