I dont drink sugary drinks at all anymore. The only sugar i get would b whats in the peanut butter and natural sugars in fruit.About the water thing: people here will dilute any kind of juice with 50% water (fizzy or otherwise), maybe that could help you get used to less strongly flavored/sugary drinks? I´m not a juice drinker personally but when I can´t avoid it it makes me awfully thirsty, possibly because of the sugar content. Same with (black or green) tea.
Think i just need to buy a good water purifier.
