realworksuks vs [Focus] - "LIKE DONKEY KONG, SON!"

RWS, I'm not sure where you are geographically located. If in the US, most states have workers compensation laws that require employers to carry insurance to cover the medical claims of injured workers. You shouldn't have to pay that claim out of your pocket. Just make sure to report the injury to your employer and have them fill out the injury report forms, and their insurance should handle it! I am an insurance lady--if you need help, just pm me...

OK, returning to regularly scheduled programming...

My mom kept telling me to not say I was at work, cuz it wasn't their fault that I cut myself open and it's bad to have on your record I guess... that you are a filer of that claim... I dunno *shrug*

I went in to work legs yesterday, I had to resort to a couple machine.. haha… but it was a very good workout nonetheless… my legs have deep soreness today.

Leg Press
135 X 20 (warm up)
315 X 10
405 X 4
405 X 4
365 X 8
365 X 8

Felt awesome..!

Leg Curls
5 sets

Calf Raises
5 sets

Lower Back Machine
3 sets

Oblique Machine
2 sets

Ab Machine
3 sets

Bodyweight abs
1 set

Ehhhh, so there it is. I feel it’s stupid to write out the weights for leg curls and other various machines… cuz they vary so much depending on how many cables and etc. there are. At one of my gyms I can tricep pushdown the entire weight stack and it says it’s 200 pounds, at another gym pushing down 90 is harder than the 200 just due to cables… but with the leg sled we can all compare that. :)

My wound on my hand is starting to close… hopefully I can be doing heavy deadlifts in less than a week from today.

You really shouldn't have a problem with this. It is a small claim--no big deal to the insurance company and is just part of doing business. It doesn't have to be the employer's fault in order to qualify, and there's nothing wrong with filing the claim.

You don't want to be someone who is out on a "back injury" with no clear origin point, trying to collect weeks or months or a lifetime of disability pay...I can understand that. But, people who work in restaurants get cut, and you're not looking for wage pay, just a few dollars to get stitched up! Those few dollars are a bigger deal for you than they are for them!

There is no "record" for the claim to be on...don't worry about that.

hmmm, good info. I didn't know there wasn't a record...

Thing is, I work in a bank, and I cut myself in the lunch room while seperating caulfilower.. should I have filed you think?

I will have to remember that next time.

OK, apparently I made a quantum leap/assumption here--was the cauliflower-cutting work related or was it your lunch??

If you were making a relish tray for a meeting, consider it work related and file the claim. If you were cutting cauliflower for your lunch, not so much!

5'ish rep range on the bench was much better, I think. Will see. I've made some changes to the weight training - won't bother explaining, they're there to see - and something very important I never mentioned is also now different... we'll see what happens. Very excited for the fall, as my facilities will be getting a major upgrade. :D

@rws: I thought I told you to stop breaking your ****. :p

yep, it was for my lunch.. ha.

So… I went into the weight room for upper day! It was a pretty big success… hand didn’t bother me too much, just tried to avoid putting any weight directly on the wound as best as I could.

Here’s the workout:

Bench Press
135 X 15
155 X 10
175 X 10
190 X 5
205 X 4
230 X 1

Yeeeeeah buddy! The 230 wasn’t bad.. I think I could get up 235 at least, but maybe 240.

Weighted chin-ups
Bw X 10 (pull-ups here, not chins)
35 X 8
45 X 6
Bw X 17

Quick way to get a huge pump in arms is doing pull-ups until fatigue. I hadn’t worked upper body for five days and was pumped after the first set of this.

Standing DB shoulder press
35 X 10
40 X 10
40 X 10
45 X 6

Seated Rowing
120 X 10
130 X 10
140 X 10
140 X 9

Hm, and that was it, I guess I also did some cable crossovers after bench press as well, was a great workout… I am still very sore in my legs from last leg day which was on Sunday… deep soreness in my inner quads and on the front too… leg press is UNDERrated.

Good stuff, beeyotch. Also, I will answer pm now, sorry, totally forgot. ^_^

I actually saw a dude yesterday leg pressing something like 900 lbs.. with his knees all wrapped up. Hahaha. Totally made me think of you. :D

Training

Biked 10.0 miles in 30.0 mins @ 20.0 mph
Ran 4.05 miles in 33.5 mins @ 8.27 mm.

Thoughts

lulz almost PR'ing on my run, lulz enjoying it immensely

lulz gaining 3 lbs on 6 weeks of strict v dieting and then losing 3 lbs in 2 weeks of constantly stuffing my face (averaging over 3500 calories/day, versus 1600/day on the v diet)

Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with my physiology.

I shall make this brick thing a Wednesday regular. Is fun.

so.. I went to get my stitches out today and when the doc snipped em off we realized that the wound had not closed AT ALL! Ha... so I should have kept them in for another week or whatever. Oh well, I am just gonna work through it, it'll heal in due time.

The wound is in that area right below my pointer finger to the right of the knuckle and down a bit. Just above that area where the thumb skin is... so it's where it's always getting reopened..

oh well, light weight baby!

Dear Lord,

Would you please tone down the heaping of blessings upon me? Seriously, I don't mean to be ungrateful, but I don't know how much more I can take. You may kill me with goodness before the week is through. I realize that, being omniscient and all, you already know this, but uhm, I don't want to die. So, yeah. Also, there are people who might benefit so much more from this massive infusion of your holy light. People like Jessica Simpson, Tiny Tim, Tanya Harding and Big Tom. Okay, good talk.

Your victim,
D

Smack talk

Is it just me or has rws straight-up lost his damn mind? Awesome. :D
