Petals diary

I'll have to add Camino Way to my watch list. I'm definitely a spoiled traveler. Having to stay a night at Holiday Inn is kinda rough for me, lmao. It's funny, though, I have been obsessed with traveling lately. I'm thinking it's because of this prolonged isolation and the inability to move about freely.

(Minor nitpick: camino just means road so camino way is a tautology.)

Hmmm seems it might be something to consider down the road so !! I’m with you Em about lugging a rucksack .
My cousin did a 4 day hike and realised pretty soon in that a hair straightener was indeed not a necessity.

Yeah, a girl I used to work with did it, and she said she ended up with less and less stuff as the weeks went by. What was the actual name of the documentary?

 That's amazing. My aunt did a Kennedy march some years back (80 km in 24 hours) and she said as the day got warmer people even left their sweaters by the side of the road so they wouldn't have to carry them.

lol I am known to go off on my morning walks and leave my jackets on a fence and collect later .
Camino skies Em . I rented it on sky . €2.49 maybe .
Ok day today , worked hard , off for a walk now .
Back to SW Tthis week so that will be good .

Do you know if your son and daughter will be attending classes in college this semester or is it all online? When are the Leaving Cert results out?

Hey Petal, so good to see you walking with such consistency. Also saw on Em's diary that you are thinking about what to do when winter comes, your exercise ethic is great!

I have always liked the idea of a multi-day trek, when I was young I did some backpacking but am not sure I will again. The hiking I think I could do, but like you I would want to stay in a hotel along the way.

If I took off my jacket I would probably forget it. I usually try to carry a small pack when wearing a jacket, something to carry it in.

Leave it to LaMa to point something like this out, and not for the first time it's like deja vu all over again.

Em my son is working now , all done in college . Leaving results are sept 7 . Think she will defer college this year if she even goes at at all . It would be mostly remote learning . Not sure what will happen but we not stressing . She is starting job hunting after the results come out if that's here preferred option.

I really hope I am wrong but I think we are going to see a huge climb in cases now schools are back. I try not to overthink the future of our country but it's a bit worrying .

I returned to SW and I officially gained 1lb since I last attended . Very happy . Let the organic loss begin even if it takes a year to get there . We do a 4 week kickstart plan though so I am starting that today . Also thinking of joining gym and am hoping to be allowed a free session next week to see what it's like . Opting for the one without the pool at mo.

Rob yep that sounds like a good trip to me .

Ah ok Petal. Yeah, the cases could spike again. I’m just taking it day-by-day and trying to enjoy the things that are open. I feel it could be regional lockdowns for the next year.

College isn’t for everyone, so glad you are happy with whatever your daughter decides.

Hey only a 1 pound change in 5 or 6 months, that isn't a gain its really impressive maintenance! Good to see that you are back in the SW swing of things, it seems a good program for you.

Thanks Lama ,em and Rob .
yep I agree with regional lockdowns is what we will be looking forward to I am afraid. I was all ready to get back in sw mindset today but I’m struggling . Weather maybe. It’s so so grim

The good thing is that many folks at SW will be struggling to get back on so they´ll probably address it quite a lot.

I imagine so but for now it's just a weigh in option . I feel better today about it all .
Had other stuff going on in my head like work and husband was a bit unwell dog was unwell so hopefully I get myself sorted now too .
Doggie doing ok again thankfully. Husband WIP . LOL

I hope husband feels better by COB, just in time for the weekend. ;)

I think what you said on my diary about work is really interesting. I did push back this week and said I won’t get it done, which was sort of accepted really. So I think you’re right - working overtime like that is ok the odd time - not as a regular thing. Let me know how it goes. :)

:grouphug: Stay healthy.
