Petals diary

Never for a moment did I think you would give up.
That meal does sound delicious. Have you passed on your culinary skills to your offspring, Petal?

Not going to starve myself just keep to my very healthy lifestyle of food and exercise and if it drops happy days if not I’m ok.

That's a great mindset!

LaMa I agree . I like to eat fish when out as I don't cook it much although I have some salmon for tonight . Thanks Amy . It's a ROI for life . Rob I think you are on the same page as me . Em very quick to make . Cate yeah they can cook thankfully. My son lived away for the last 4 years in uni so he is handy . Thanks Jenni

We had a huge storm over night . We had a yellow warning for our area , I hate to think what the red and orange parts got. Still blowing out there .
I took a night off exercising so back to it today . Watched some tv and did my hair etc . It was nice . Very very busy and stressed in work and I'm weary so needed a few hours off from everything . The lack of consistency from management is hard to deal with it. Also there is definitely too many chiefs .

Sorry to hear work is so hard. All I can say is put the hand up and let them know how you are feeling. It’s their job to look after you.

Nearly the weekend, yay!!

I like Em's idea. It should be in their interests to look after their staff. Almost every workplace seems top-heavy to me these days.

The broth Lama .
I actually spoke out yesterday. I didn’t actually get anywhere tbh but at least if I have a breakdown next week they know why . ( not going to have a breakdown guys ) I ended up doing 6 hours without a break . I am only paid for 4. I will claim it back at some point . Maybe some fridays off for a while . Owed a lot of time now .
Ate well yesterday and I did a 48 min leslie sansone 3 mile fat burner workout , I was literally drenched. Felt great after it . Weather is atrocious so have to work out at home.

Laters x

Well done speaking up even if you didn't get anywhere short-term. Being "difficult" may be an scary label but it's also how you get respect in many places.

I have never been punished for speaking up - maybe they don’t do much when you say it first, but when they go home, these things do play on their minds, so I bet you’ll see something good from this. Well done anyway.

Thsnks all . Sorry for all the typos in posts , headache this morn so just having quick zoom about. Weather diabolical. Also our country is falling apart . All the top knobs had a golf party social and there is war going on . Same ones who told us we not allowed to socialise . Our new government is in shite .
Work was ok yesterday. Long day but I feel less stressed for speaking up . Food great yesterday, and I walked last night after doing housework .
One of my best friends emailed me last night to say one of their best friends son died yesterday suddenly aged 40. The sons mum is only dead a year. The poor husband and father now must be heartbroken. I don't know them but feel I do because my friend talks about them all the time . Feel sad for what they are all facing . And my friend is devastated. I too far away to even help .

Will try have a good day today . We all need to make most of it

Hi Petal, I think restrictions still in place where you are for another few weeks? Just went onto gov.ie to see the latest. I don’t watch the news anymore.

I just read about that there. What a bunch of clowns.

Really sorry about your friend’s news. It all sounds very tragic, I can’t imagine how that poor man feels.

I agree, let’s make the most of what we can. We have our health, nice homes and friends and family to treasure. That’s a lot.

Ouch... That´s about the stupidest thing they could´ve done. Privileged people seem to think they´re exempt from ALL the rules.

So sorry to hear about your friend´s news. That´s absolutely awful.

Nice job speaking up, Petal. Nobody wants to be a complainer, but sometimes it's gotta be done. Just let them know where you're at - it's called communication.

Love the sound of a workout like that. It's been too long for me!

Hi, Petal. I hope you are able to find some time to relax over the weekend. I just went & read about the golf society event. All the apologies were enough to make you feel sick. They are pathetic. I am so sick of politicians apologising. It's meaningless. They do think they are above the rest of us.
I agree with you that we must try to make the most of what we have. I am refusing to get angry about other people & what they do. I am concentrating on my life & what I do & maintaining contact with the people I love & care about. Looking after our health is even more important than it ever was. Hope the sun shines for you on Sunday :)

Think may do one today as weather atrocious out there again .

Thanks Cate I was actually going to post the link . Typical politicians. The other classic we had was the head of our tourism board went to Italy for 2 weeks after we all told to holiday at home. He has resigned now . Idiot .

Em a bunch of clowns says it all . Yep lets treasure all we have.
I'm trying, but some days are harder than others.
I agree Jen but trying is good . I'm a terrible overthinker and sometimes makes days harder than necessary.

So sorry to hear about your friend´s news. That´s absolutely awful.
Thanks LaMa don't know what happened yet but I kept them company on email yesterday.

Just kind of working out the quotes here as on iPad , bit easier than the phone .

Food good yesterday. Watched a documentary on the Camino way . Not sure if I would like it . Think a nice hotel with lots of different walks more for me

I think the Camino is a form of torture but it also seems to give people breathing space to figure out the next direction in their lives. You can do it so that you don’t have to carry your bag - this is looked on as ‘cheating’ by the true Camino believers but I think I value my good health too much to lug a huge rucksack around on my back for 6 weeks.

I´d love to walk to Santiago one day. Not because of religion but because I love walking and it´s one of the best-kept long-distance paths anywhere with excellent and affordable facilities. And if you take quick-drying clothes it´s no hardship to wash them in the sink before going to bed so one change of clothes, some toiletries, and a lunch box is all you have to carry.
