I've been thinking about this for a while, and other people have also mentioned it to me.

I think it would be a more enjoyable and friendlier challenge if we drop the max points, to take some of the stress out of this competition--both emotionally and physically. Some of the feedback I'm getting is that its just not healthy to work out every single day, without taking breaks to let your body heal.

You can work out as much as you want though, I don't want to discourage those who prefer to exercise more.

What does everyone else think about it?

Here is what I'm thinking:
5 points max per week for Cardio (1 pt for each half hour)
5 points max per week for Weights/Resistance (1 pt for each half hour)
7 points max per week for Weekly Bonus (1pt per day)

17 points max per person per week.

For people who want to get ahead of the game, points from weight loss will really make the difference.

That is what this competition is all about though, right? Losing some pounds (and getting healthy).

I wanted to ask the teams what they thought before I changed it. If the majority agrees, then we can make this effective starting this week (1st week of month 2). Hopefully it will be ok with everyone.

Most people are not working out 7 days a week anyhow, so I'm hoping that this will be ok.

LOL! I know what you mean, my arms are so sore, it's ridiculous. We went from 0 to 60mph with this challenge. Hopefully more people will be motivated to work on calories too, instead of trying to bust themselves up in the gym to keep up.

I want to take this time to do a bit of a heart to heart with my girls. The last two weeks have been really off for me. I've been doing a lot of soul searching and as all of you know this crazy thing we call life has a way of intertwining seemingly unrelated areas and issues. In our first month I've seen growth in all of you even if I don't voice it. I've never been the type to be too cheerleader like but I thought this was the perfect time to let you guys know a few things especially after the drama that this competition has stirred up a bit.

Alta - You're finding your way. You're not only saying you can do something you're believing it to. That hear that passion that fire that we all see in you, you're starting to trust it and realize you are in this for the long haul. When you stumble we're here to pick you up.

Melissa - Our resident sex kitten. I know we haven't done much in the way of bonding and I want to make an effort to get to know you better because quite honestly what I do know is quite inspiring. You're doing something I can only hope to strive for. You're making you a priority and not only that but you're loving you.

Christen - I know you were feeling a bit helpless with all the work you were putting in to feel like you weren't quite getting the results. Good reason for someone to give up as most people's logic would have it. You kept going and you broke through. It's a satisfying feeling to see someone who is so genuine in their care for other people push past a difficult phase. It gives the rest of us permission to "fight the good fight" because it's worth it. As with Melissa I really want to get to know you better.


Today I'm pledging myself to you guys. I took on the responsibility of being your team captain and I can only hope to live up the amazing women I have a chance to compete with. Here's to a soon to be new month and a really exciting journey we get to take together :cheers2:

Just wanted to give a fresh update on my points. I should get 3 points today w/my running and yoga. I am down on the scale this week...I'm hoping to maintain the loss over the next two days by really focusing HARD on my diet. These endless free buffets at work w/not derail me!! It is not a HUGE weight loss but hell, for me every ounce matters...every fricken ounce. I'm at an all time low this year and I'm liking what I am seeing!!

- Each day that you drink a minimum of 64oz (Eight 8oz glasses of water), give yourself 1 point! Maximum of 7 points per week. Drink up!!
