One Step at a Time

I agree with Trusylver, you need to be sure you are ok.

Nice pictures as always, I always enjoy seeing a pretty girl and her horse.

Agreed with the others: don´t overdo it. I hope you continue to heal well but take care of yourself in the meantime.

No, I haven't been to the doctor. Last time I went to a doctor for a horse related injury (it was by far worse than this one) and all they told me was to take it easy for a few days and that was it. But I do plan on going to a chiropracter as soon as I can since I know that'll definitely help out. And i'm doing my best in the meantime to not over do it which is why I didn't ride longer than I did since it was just to see where I was at in that regard.

Now that I'm feeling a bit better, I'll be starting to work on doing more physical exercise again. I still have yet to see the chiropractor but that's going to happen soon enough once I can get through to the person to arrange an appointment. I've also started to rearrange expenses and get to eating some more healthy foods. For a while all I've been having for lunches is instant noodles and hotdogs due to a few reasons.

Little life update, Sadie was sold yesterday. She now belongs to a lady who also boards at the stables I'm at so I'll still be able to see her grow up which is nice.
Jack may also be getting sold. I have someone coming to look at him this evening. If they like him and seem like a good fit, she'll take him for a 2 week trial run. Depending how things go during that time, he'll either be sold or come back to me.

Then there's the newest addition, Chester. He's 13 years old and a quarter horse. My riding instructor, who's also my friend, rescued him a few months ago and has brought him back into good health. Due to the stress from his previous situation and then being somewhere new and not knowing anyone, he does seem to have some ulcers. So I'll be having to treat those but he's made lots of progress already. Because my friend wants me to have him more than for him to sell to anyone else, I'm getting him for a really good deal.

Glad you're starting to feel a bit better, Ann & also glad your finances will now allow you to eat healthier.

Is the 4th pic the new guy as well? That's a beautiful horse! Sadie must be doing well if you were able to sell her already; that's great to hear.

Nice to hear you are moving toward some more healthy foods Ann. Was that garden you were helping plant this year on the property where you live? Were you able to get some good fresh produce from that?

@LaMaria All 3 of the bottom row pics are the new guy :) And yes, she does seem to be doing quite well and I know she's in good hands.

@liza Yup, it's actually right beside my cabin lol. And I've eaten a lot of raspberries from it, and we've gotten more than enough peas plus a ton of potatoes. Carrots were a dud though. They only grew to be about 1 inch wide and an inch in length. So next time we'll go with different carrots seeds.

That's strange about the carrots. Do you have a lot of wild carrots/parsnips around? Could just be a high nematode load.

Today I counted my steps and I got to a bit over 9,000 which was pretty awesome. I also stayed in my calorie deficit as well. On top of that, I went for a 20-30 min ride as well which was quite fun. I'm hoping to start doing a few other excises inbetween. I'm not good at staying on top of exercises, but hopefully at some point here, I'll be able to remember it and stick with it.

So today is day 5 of easing myself into keto type diet and I'd have to say things are going pretty good. I'm still over the carb limit but I'm not worried about it since like I said, I'm easing myself into it. I've also been doing 7,000 - 9,000+ steps a day as well. Plus I've been working on increasing my water intake since I wasn't drinking quite enough for a bit.

First 2 pictures are where I started, second pic of food chart is from yesterday and scale is from this morning.

And here are a few pics from during my time out to get my steps up with walking Chester. Had some fun editing the pics too. Only one I didn't edit is the one where I'm with him.

Yes I love those pictures Ann! And great to hear you are feeling back on track and easing into keto again--i know you said before how well that works for you! Great work on all the walking too.

Today hits the 1 week mark since I started changing things up and these are my results:

SW: 213.5
CW: 208
Weight Lost: 5.5 lbs

Steps I took during the week ranged from 7,000 - 9,000
I also did some arm weight lifts and some squats and some other leg stretches.

I'm hoping that by the end of the month, I'll be below the 200 lbs mark which would be really exciting. I guess it's a wait and see what happens.

Chester also came to live with me on Saturday and yesterday was our first training sessions which was fun. He definitely is rusty in a few spots, hence why we're working on it, but overall did decently. Working with him also helped get my steps in which was a definite bonus to it.

Always good to see our pretty girl and her horses! Getting below 200 will be great, I am looking forward to seeing you do it! Whenever that is.

Congrats on the loss!

Your switching things up has paid dividends. Well done, Ann :)
